Review for Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue, Renton, WA, USA

Rating: 1 stars

I would give negative stars of I could!

We applied to adopt a pair of rescue dogs from Korea. The lady who conducted the phone interview started to conversation about the how these dogs are treated so harshly in Korea because of over population and they are not given a chance at life, really its a sad state of affairs.
So after 10 minute story and my wife and I feeling really great about giving a pair of dogs a chance at a better life, the question comes up about what we will do with the dogs while we are away at work for 5 hole hours. I told them that we have a dog door to the garage were they will have a warm bed and shelter from the elements with access to a fully fenced and locked back yard. Her response is aren't we worried about someone stealing these dogs buy climbing over the fence. My repose we didn't have any problems in the 13 years of the prior 2 dogs we had and we now have surveillance cameras all around the house that alert us to any motion plus we live at the end of a col-de-sac so not like we get a lot of traffic and are retired neighbors look out for us. She then was worried about the garage not being warm enough during the winter and suggested that we leave them inside while we were away. ( the dogs we were trying to adopt were herding breeds that have double coats and are designed for weather I could understand her concern if we were adopting chihuahuas ).

They leave you feeling like you are bad human beings for the way u treat animals and ultimately refused the adoption. The really sad part of this is with the sad story about dogs being put to sleep in Korea is that this rescue is not helping to alleviate this buy using unrealistic expectations and refusing adoptions to good people who can give these dogs a great life.

Ultimately they are condemning more animals then they could possibly rescue.
This has truly been a terrible experience and these people should not be in the business of rescuing animals!
