Review for Dachshund Adoption Rescue And Education Inc, Tampa, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

DARE is an excellent organization. Unlike other dachshund rescue groups - they take in any dog that is "part" dachshund. They take in dogs that are extremely sick, need back surgery or other surgery or have any handicap. There goal is to save them and find them good furever homes. Unless their foster homes are full, they never turn a dog away. I personally have adopted 4 dogs from them and I follow them on facebook and their website. This is a wonderful caring group of people and they operate 100% on donations. They work with vets who are willing to discount services - but even with discounts their vet expenses can be quite high.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have been able to adopt four wonderful dogs that my family and I enjoy every day. I have experienced the joy of saving other dogs and then finding the perfect human match for a rescued dog. I receive a great deal of satisfaction knowing that I have saved a dog and made another person happy.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I believe this organization is good. It needs more people to volunteer - there are lots of ways from being a foster home to working at helping the organization raise money - - to creating more awareness. Lack of awareness if probably the biggest issue - because that would help solve all of the other issues.
