Review for Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment, Kampala, , Uganda

Rating: 5 stars

ACODE is a policy think tank that has made a positive contribution to policy debates and the development of environmental policy in Uganda. It has engaged high level policy makers including Members of Parliament to prioritise environment in decision and policy making. It organises stakeholder reviews of the National Budget and analyses their contribution to the environment. ACODE has always advocated for increased public resource allocation to the Environment and Natural Resource sector. ACODE is a respected and reliable partner to Central Government agencies and departments that are engaged in environment.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the central and local level activities

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

reach out to all parts of the country including the grassroot communities

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Ability to engage Government without fear or favour.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very knowledgeable and highly motivated

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Make tremendous change in the management of the environment

Ways to make it better...

increase partnership and joint implementation of activities

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Mobilising resources on a sustainable basis to carry out its activities Establishing lower community level partnerships and sustaining them.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Given the increasing challenge of environmental management more committed CSOs like ACODE are needed.
