I learned about the work of the PRASAD Project over 20 years ago and was fortunate to volunteer for one of the PRASAD Eye Camps in the Tansa Valley in India. It was deeply moving to see the way in which the local staff and leadership had created such an inspiring and effective organization, restoring the eye sights of thousands of local villagers.
The staff in most cases had been recipients of PRASAD's work and each one of them has grown to be a wonderful and inspiring leader and as an effective team have developed programs that made a huge impact in their communities.
I have followed and admired PRASAD's programs as its grown in NY as well as in other countries around the world. I've seen the ways in which people's lives are deeply impacted by PRASAD's work including responding to emergency situations as they arise around the world; including supporting victims of hurricanes, tsunami's, flooding and earthquakes.
