Many years ago I was lucky enough to offer service at a Prasad Netraprakash Eye Camp in India that restored sight to hundreds of people with cataracts.
It was a watershed in my life - I have never forgotten what the experience taught me. The organisation, dedication, skill and effort that went into creating a field hospital with everything it needed were truly extraordinary.
And I know Prasad's ongoing charitable work in India and elsewhere is done with the same level of dedication to helping people in need.

I have supported The PRASAD Project for many years. I was fortunate, when traveling to India, to visit the Milk/Nutrition Project and the Mobile Hospital (projects of PRASAD Chiktsa). What struck me most was the way in which the PRASAD staff and volunteers delivered the services -- along with tangibles, they delivered respect, joy, and love. They were enthusiastic about the work and their connection with each school, and mobile site was evident in the happy reception they received. My sense was that the staff, volunteers, and participants in the programs were one community working together.

My husband, Geoff Sutcliffe, was invited to see the work of the PRASAD Project when he visited India. Their work moved him as he witnessed the love being shared and the immediate benefits to the local communities, so much so that he decided to offer to help the Prasad Project in Australia, raising money for the life-transforming work the volunteers worldwide are achieving. My daughter and I discussed how unjust it is that dentistry is not available to everyone due to the costs. We both shared awe and gratitude for Prasad in the dental hospitals they have established in various to meet the needs of children who would otherwise not afford it. Prasad’s reach is far and transforms lives. The volunteers are special people, committed to Prasad’s vision - to help people achieve lives of self-reliance and dignity. When you join the Prasad Project you feel you are an integral part of contributing to those in need and helping make this world a better place.

Prasad Project is a charity I trust wholeheartedly, having met many of the Board and people on the ground working with the local communities. Where I think Prasad excels is in their ability to learn about what is important to the community they set out to support so they can co-collectively determine how best to offer support that promotes independence and sustainability. What a truly superb organisation. They keep donors well informed, visually and in print about the progress of their initiatives.

I've followed and supported PRASAD's work in the Tansa Valley of India, and in upstate New York, for over 25 years. The scope, depth, and breadth of their work is reflected in everything from improvement in a child's dental health to the empowerment of entire communities through self-help agricultural programs. As a volunteer with their health programs in India, I saw first-hand how effective their work is. Well worth supporting.

I volunteered my own skills to the PRASAD Project's medical work in India, and now I support PRASAD as a donor. I've seen the many hearts, minds and hands of PRASAD volunteers and staff come together as one, effectively empowering individuals and communities, and conserving the earth's resources. A young artist is given the chance to create and thrive. Someone's TB is treated. Someone's eyesight restored. A harvest bears fruit. Every personal story matters. Thank you, PRASAD Project.

I always trusted PRASAD to provide the help and support in all different situations. My experience is they always got the job done.
With any world wide emergency , I knew my donation would make a difference.
Knowing that even a small amount could bring school supplies or pants, shoes or milk or new trees was very satisfying.
I love being a proud PRASAD supporter.

Dear One,

Greetings.

Prasad is one of the most honest and farsighted ngo we have been supporting. Their zest to empower people and make them independent in facinating. They also take good care of children and women during and after pregnancy. Their make the environment better, support nature sapling plantation program if world changing. Toilets for families n schools, clean water for all, dental care for villagers; the list of their useful programs is very long and should be explored and supported.

God Bless.

Good regards,

I've contributed to The Prasad Project for many years. I was very impressed by the Eye Camps they ran in the past and by the ongoing and innovative support they provide to the people in the Tansa Valley in India. I particularly like the micro loan women's groups and providing fruit trees to increase the diet and income of local families.

In the 1990s, The PRASAD Project held ‘Eye Camps’ for the people who live in the Tunsa Valley in Maharashtra, India. I was a child and loved to help out as I could—serving water and food to people who had recently regained their sight. These people would share with me and my friends their stories and I could see (pun intended) again and again that the gift of sight would change these people’s lives, their family’s lives, and the lives of those in community. The PRASAD Project really does uplift the lives of those they help. Thank you!

I volunteered for this organization many years ago and I've watched it grow, flourish and change the lives of all of the people that it touches. The eye camps in India and Mexico, the establishment of schools and hospitals in India, the creation of clean drinking water in villages in India; all of these are wonderful ways the Prasad Project has transformed lives. But perhaps the most transformative way that the Prasad Project has impacted disadvantaged populations is through the lending of micro-credit loans to small groups of women in India. In this way, people are able to take control of their lives and develop their own ways of creating income. As the saying goes, "To give a man some fish to eat is helpful, but to teach a man how to fish is transformative".

This year, after years of holding an annual fundraiser for PRASAD in the USA, I had a golden opportunity to visit PRASAD Chikitsa in India and tour their great work there. As I poured milk for one of the many small children sitting patiently on the floor of a small, rural preschool the boy receiving the milk looked up at me with so much love and gratitude. His eyes were as wide as saucers, moist and glistening like a precious gem. I realized that yes, this boy did need precious food that I was very happy to help make possible for him, but the love I received from him was also invaluable and something I will always cherish in my heart.

Prasad Project is a unique organisation which uplifts the life of people. It has been providing basic necessities to the tribals and helping them in getting their needs so that it can ease their lives from their day to day struggles. E.g When students were not attending school due to menstrual cycle PRASAD helped them by educating them about how to take care of themselves and also getting a vending machine for pads so it was easily accessible to the students n they could not miss their school curriculum. These seems small steps but it's a great step towards supporting those in need. PRASAD has brought light in many lives in many ways. Health care, education, women and child and many more projects.
PRASAD has been working tirelessly in many countries in different ways to know more do visit the website. www.prasadproject.org.
U can be a part of prasad by volunteering or donating towards a wonderful cause.
People share their happiness by donating on occasions like Birthday, Anniversary or a special moment of their life or they volunteer their services. Being a part of PRASAD for me personally is a blessing. At a young age I was able to serve.

Prasad Project work is selfless service to mankind. They not only provide health care but also go deep into detecting the needs of the tribal community. PRASAD e.g had noticed that the children started dropping from attending school due to menstrual cycle . The Trustees decided to provide vending machines where the student could get pad ,also they educated the students about the usage and menstrual periods. Which inturn helped the students to attend school on a regular basis
PRASAD not only provide service but also go all the way till the patient is completely cured.
When patient are to undergo cataract eye surgery they also support them by being part of the family which builds a trust between the receiver n giver. In turn the patient is grateful for taking good care of them. With folded hands they give their blessings to PRASAD.
Hence any one who donates or is a part of the service does not go empty handed. They receive more than they give. The doctor too feel blessed to be a part of such an organisation who purely works towards the upliftment of humanity.
That is a picture with PRASAD staff always serving with a smiling. This is a part of my experience with PRASAD. There is a lot to explore in PRASAD world it's a must join project !! Everyone from different walks of life join PRASAD with one goal to Upliftment humanity!

We have supported PRASAD since it started, growing out of a hospital bus and child nutrition programs in India in the 1980's when we lived there. A few years ago we visited India and saw the PRASAD activities first hand, they go to the root cause of poverty and poor health and educate and train people to take responsibility for own well being. This means the donations are used effectively and efficiently having an enormous positive impact on the communities. I have also seen this first hand with the dental program in NY. The small team works hard to deliver valuable services cost effectively. BRAVO - my favorite nonprofit.

Since i am from india i would speak about the great work Prasad offer on a daily basis.

They have not stopped service even when people around the world were dealing with covid 19. With full care n protection they worked during the tough time so that medical help and essential reach those who are below poverty level.

The work did not stop here the tuberculosis patient who could not reach the clinic Prasad staff went to thier homes as relapse of medication would not help the recover.

Prasad work is not just work for the sake but to follow up with patients so they are completely heal.

When we offer our service in prasad instead of giving we receive more than we can image.

Further, the on-going medical and nutritional health programs in India, the restorative and preventative dental health program to children in need, receiving an award from the New York State Dental Foundation as well as the eye surgery camps providing restored vision of thousands of adults and children in Mexico, confirm the commitment and dedication of the Prasad Project to this global humanitarian mission.

I have made contributions to PRASAD for many years and have been impressed by their sustained activities to: (1) promote the health and self reliance of individuals in the rural Tansa valley region of Maharashtra, India; (2) provide cataract surgery to individuals in the Tansa valley and in Mexico; and (3) operate a mobile dental clinic in a high need area in the Catskill mountains of upstate New York. In addition to efficiently providing much needed services and programs PRASAD also does a great job of providing regular updates on its program and transparency regarding its finances. I had the good fortune to spend a day a few years ago helping with the delivery of milk to elementary school children in the Tansa Valley and was able to see how they make the most of every penny of donations, and provide services in a way that promotes the self respect of those they serve. I appreciate that they also act as a conduit for donations to address natural disaster relief efforts - I know I can trust them to partner with organizations that will be thoughtful and efficient in providing services.

I teach music in an elementary school. Many of my students come of low income families, get enough food only when they come to school, or income cases are homeless. When the Prasad Project's Children's Dental Health bus began coming to my school, I was thrilled. I see children getting not only much needed dental care and dental hygiene education, but also an experience of love, kindness, and joy that makes them glow. They are excited when the bus arrives. They look forward to their time to see the dentist, and afterwards speak about how much fun it is, and the kindness they felt as well. I know they are getting much more than just clean teeth and filled cavities. They are getting a feeling of care that will stay with them as they grow up.

In 1989, in Ganeshpuri, India, I had the good fortune of spending a day on the " mobile hospital" bus, before it eventually became part of what is now the Prasad Project. We drove a long distance to a remote village. There was a long line of adults and children waiting. Some had walked from other distant remote villages. One woman's sari was covered in flies. They were all examined and treated by the doctors or nurses. The children were given fresh cold milk. The images of that day are etched in my mind as if it were yesterday. I was so humbled. This traveling hospital was all some of those villagers had for medical treatment. For some, lifesaving. For all, worth a long pilgrimage of many miles. Their gratitude was palpable. This act of giving and providing for the communities changed many lives and touched many hearts. Mine would never be the same.
When I returned to the U.S.A. I was inwardly inspired to apply to nursing school. A second career which I felt blessed to have for the next 22 years.
The Prasad Project is a lifeline to so many less advantaged people whom would otherwise have no access to life changing or lifesaving medical or dental .treatments.
It is a Project of selfless giving, with tangible and intangible rewards. It is a Project of love.

PRASAD has a very good reputation in Mexico. They have helped a lot of senior people with free cataract surgeries. I personally spoke with one of them many years ago and he was just very grateful for the love and compassion he got from PRASAD. It was not just the surgery, it was the love he got. They have changed the lives of literally thousands of people. I follow PRASAD's Facebook page and it's amazing to see all the projects they do all over the world. I have chosen them as a charity to support on amazon smile, so every time I buy on Amazon.com, a small portion of my purchase goes to them. It's not a lot, but every little helps

I learned about the work of the PRASAD Project over 20 years ago and was fortunate to volunteer for one of the PRASAD Eye Camps in the Tansa Valley in India. It was deeply moving to see the way in which the local staff and leadership had created such an inspiring and effective organization, restoring the eye sights of thousands of local villagers.
The staff in most cases had been recipients of PRASAD's work and each one of them has grown to be a wonderful and inspiring leader and as an effective team have developed programs that made a huge impact in their communities.
I have followed and admired PRASAD's programs as its grown in NY as well as in other countries around the world. I've seen the ways in which people's lives are deeply impacted by PRASAD's work including responding to emergency situations as they arise around the world; including supporting victims of hurricanes, tsunami's, flooding and earthquakes.

Hello,
I have volunteered for PRASAD over the past years, in India and Sullivan County, New York. The mobile hospital bus in India serves hundreds of people daily. The health screenings and treatments that were done with babies, mothers, all ages of men and women was amazing. The people cared for were so grateful and appreciative. In most cases this was there only contact for health care. The PRASAD is a nonprofit that truly goes above and beyond.

It was 29 years ago that I first was involved with the Prasad project in the Maharashtra state in India. It was my great good-fortune to participate in the first two eye surgery camps where vision was given to people that had cataracts. I will never forget the day I took the patch off a man who was blind in both eyes and a white light poured from his eye and pierced my heart. In that moment of him regaining his sight I felt that I was being given the vision of the purpose of my life. To serve others in this way. I was also blessed to participate in the children's milk project and also to work on the mobile Hospital bus that went out to villages to give people much needed medical care on a consistent basis. It also inspired me to become a registered nurse. It is my great longing to serve others in this philanthropic way and I am so grateful to have the Prasad project as a vehicle to do so. They're unique in that they look at the whole picture of what those they serve are in need of. I am drawn to the question they ask which is "what do you need?". I look forward to being associated with the Prasad Project for years to come and I encourage anyone who is interested in this type of service to affiliate yourself with this outstanding organization.

PRASAD is literally a gracious gift to all of us. I call it as a Nile with continuous flow of love, generosity, honesty and unconditional service to human kind. I have known PRASAD since I was a child. Through its initiatives and work, I was taught what giving means and the power it carries to bring a shift in lives of those who connects with it.
I have been part of PRASAD's milk project, baalbhojan (food service for children) and being a donor. I have witnessed this organization bringing light, hope, joy, contentment and willingness to give, in people's lives on a very large magnitude. Whenever I offer my services or donations, my heart fills with joy and happiness. I very often and quickly forget what I've done however what remains is a pond of nectar with boundless horizons. Health that is gift from God to all of us, is cared by PRASAD for those who need it, or never had it really. That too in the remote most areas those could be seen forgotten by us.
Being connected with PRASAD gives me happiness. It gives me a golden and auspicious opportunity to contribute to the goodness and wellbeing of Mother Earth as a poet saint of Maharashtra, India, Shri Tukaram Maharaj says, “This world is my home".
Every single contribution is equally vital. In my life PRASAD brought transformation within, not just on personal level but also on professional and social levels.
I would like to encourage and inspire each one out there to start thinking deeply about providing your assistance in all possible ways. Thank You PRASAD.

I would like to share my 1st experience with Prasad in 1996. I was a volunteer at the mobile van hospital going to different village each day of week. It has been very humbling experience. I realized how this van is so necessary and helpful to the villagers who reside in remote places and who doesn't have access to healthcare and have difficulty to go to hospital in near by cities due to road and transport infrastructure. Since they are working daily in fields and does not have social security system, taking a day off from work and going to city is a burden for them and hence they avoid going for regular preventive health checks.
When the van comes to their village, Women along with kids would get their health essentials done like weight, blood pressure, temperature and basic eye check up. They were also given health education on importance of women health and kids vaccination. The regular monthly essentials helped diagnosis of any problems at early stages and also they were given basic medicines. It was all free. My task was to assist villagers in making queue, helping translate and assisting doctors.
For me access to good hospital or basic medicines was a normal thing. But when I see the villagers and how happy they are to get this help from this initiatives was really worth appreciation.
The doctors and nurses were listening to all problems to of the villages while taking care of all hygienic aspects. They were so organized and were so involved in this cause. I recommend this NGO who is making great impact in the lives of kids and women who live in remote villages in India and other countries.
Besides the hospital , this NGO has great scholarship to promote girls education and promote literacy and women health awareness. I would recommend and request all support to the initiatives of this NGO.

Thanks

My wish is that everyone everywhere may be touched by the loving and healing care that PRASAD offers to people and communities in need.

As a trustee, my greates reward is knowing that we are helping and empowering people to make measurable improvements. As the proverb goes give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. It is more worthwhile to teach someone to do something, than to do something for them.

I have been providing financial support to this organization for well over 5 years and an very satisfied with the services they provide around the world as well as their extremely low overhead and costs. Much of the work is completed by volunteers helping to ensure that as much of my donation as possible ends up directly benefiting recipients.

I have been involved with the PRASAD Project since the beginning in 1992 and have served non stop since then. I am happy to provide this "pro bono " support to the organization that serves so many people in India , Mexico and the US. The PRASAD Project is a volunteer based organization and it started with all board members. we do have staff and in a very limited number as we want 94% of each donation to go directly to the programs!
PRASAD changes life not only because of the quality of its services , much more because they are provided with love and care.
PRASAD commitment is to the serve the communities where we are present as long as it is needed. We have a rule of not starting a new activity without being sure that we will be able to support it over time.

Our surgical team was able to perform 300 cataract surgeries a day when I first joined. The backlog of cataracts in the rural valley slowly was reduced and paid quality cataract surgery began to support the charity surgery. The expanded role of a dental clinic, mobile medical van, outpatient lab and HIV facility became increasingly successful for this rural village. The women's self help groups and microlending are enthusiastically received. I have watched women who can't read or write compose songs to thank donors who help them with their growing financial freedom from the unscrupulous village money lenders. The PRASAD eye surgery programs in Mexico deliver a dozen surgical camps a year with only one paid staff member. The dental programs in rural NY keep kids in school; an important aspect since the number one cause of absence from primary school is pain from cavities. The program has helped the school for 10 years. The HIV program in India has a pediatric HIV expert who comes twice a week to work with the kids and families afflicted with the AIDS virus. The research into the causes of AIDS in rural women was extremely well done and deserves further dissemination.
