As a practicing Neurologist in the Orlando area for many years, I have seen first hand the incredible service the Epilepsy Association of Central Florida provides to those children and adults with epilepsy who are indigent and/or uninsured or otherwise unable to afford diagnostic evaluation and anticonvulsant medications, which can be quite expensive. These patients are oftentimes unable to drive or to acquire work due to stringent but necessary legal restrictions. the lifting of which is dependent on control of seizure activity which is in turn dependent on having appropriate medication and proper medical followup, as is provided
by the Epilepsy clinic.
