Thanks to the efforts of Assistance League of the Eastside, 100 of my high school students are able to get new, appropriate clothes to wear to school. And that is just my school - they help all schools in the Lake Washington School District along with others. Feeling that you do not fit in can be a barrier to coming to school. These new clothes help homeless and economically disadvantaged youth feel they can fit in and come to school with their heads held high. Education is vital to breaking the poverty cycle, and ALE is a huge partner in this effort.
