A few years back we adopted our dog from GDHS. We had been hunting for months for the perfect small senior dog and because we had children many rescues dismissed us immediately without listening. GDHS listened and gave us a chance to meet a potential dog, and see how our children interacted with him.
We adopted that dog a few weeks later and he has been a perfect fit for our household.
Dog adoption can feel like an overwhelming process but I never felt their application, house review or meeting of dogs was ever excessively invasive. It was enough so that they knew the dog was going to a good home and we knew they were not hiding any negative dog traits.
