I had recently been widowed by the death of my husband. My “kids” took me to the Novi Pet Expo, where the Hairy Houdini Siberian Husky Rescue had a booth with some beautiful huskies. One of the huskies came out to the aisle as we were passing, and he sat down in front of me, stopping our progress. Our eyes met and I knew immediately this guy was meant for me. I went home and filled out an application immediately. After a thorough vetting process, he was mine. He gives my life purpose! Thank you HHSHR

I adopted my first and only rescue dog from this group. They were extremely concerned with finding a good fit for the dog and the prospective buyer (me). My dog actually chose me, as I was strolling by a HHSHR promotion booth at the Novi Pet Show, he came out into the aisle and stopped my progress, then put both front paws up on my shoulders (as if hugging me). He spoke to me! I went home and found him on HHSHR site and applied for him. It took a few weeks of vet checks and home visits, but I knew he belonged with me. HHSHR was great in helping me with a breed I was not familiar with (I had prior experience with Norwegian Elkhounds, Airedales, Chihuahuas, Vizslas, and miniature schnauzers). I highly recommend them if you are looking to rescue.
