I first got involved with The Tipi Raisers when I heard about their Ride Of Reconciliation this summer. Providing support to the Lakota Horseback Riders as they made the journey from the Denver Metro area to the Pine Ridge Reservation was among the most meaningful and life-changing experiences I've had. Hearing the stories of the Lakota people and joining them for meals, drum circles, dancing and other ceremonies was eye-opening and humbling. That first positive experience sparked my interest in getting more involved. I am now planning a trip to The Pine Ridge Reservation to help with The Race To Winterize and hopefully reconnect with the people I met in Colorado . I am also excited to support The Gen 7 Youth Ambassadors at their Youth Leadership Summit this fall in Colorado. The work that The Tipi Raisers are committed to spans so many aspects of life for the people on the Pine Ridge Reservation. I've been involved with many non-profits over the years, but none has had the impact on me that The Tipi Raisers have. I am now focused on shining a light on the amazing work of Dave, Lori and the others at The Tipi Raisers. I hope to introduce them to my friends and family so that can experience first hand what I have.
