After hearing about Lasserre's Own Hands, this past March, I decided to visit Haiti and the town of Lasserre. Spending time with students, teachers and parents gave me renewed perspective and passion for the importance of education for all, especially for young children in Haiti. As an educator, I've committed most of my career to finding avenues to provide educational opportunities to those who are first in their family to attend high school or college and/or from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. LOH's commitment to children and the future of Haiti aligns with my values and commitment to the future. Further, their laser focus on educating Haitian children is strong and unwavering.
