Supporting this organization has been one of the best things I have done since I heard about its mission. Education is vital to creating powerful change makers who will eventually transform a community. LOH is paving the way and I’m happy to contribute to it knowing the impact it has had and will continue to have.
I got in touch with my friend’s uncle who is Haitian talking about a foundation who’s mission was to educate the children in a small village. From asking questions and talking with my mom, I had found out that it was in the same small town she grew up in. I wanted to get involved immediately. I flew out to Haiti months later and volunteered for a week. The children were so happy and joyful. They loved coming to learn and eat! They always cracked jokes on me because to them, I had an accent whenever I spoke Creole. Keep it up Lasserre!
After hearing about Lasserre's Own Hands, this past March, I decided to visit Haiti and the town of Lasserre. Spending time with students, teachers and parents gave me renewed perspective and passion for the importance of education for all, especially for young children in Haiti. As an educator, I've committed most of my career to finding avenues to provide educational opportunities to those who are first in their family to attend high school or college and/or from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. LOH's commitment to children and the future of Haiti aligns with my values and commitment to the future. Further, their laser focus on educating Haitian children is strong and unwavering. Therefore, I ask you to join me in supporting Lasserre's Own Hands, a tremendous organization. Dr. Sharon Smith
To see an organization as this truly endure the labor of love and creating an environment of hope is fantastic. It takes true dedication and compassion to be of service to others. This is what Lassarres Own Hands offers and has been for the future of Haiti.
I have on several occasions visited the school this organization is funding in Lasserrre, Haiti, interacted with the students and staff. What a worthy cause! Those children, receiving an education that was inexistent in the area 4 years ago, 2 hot meals a day, all the school supplies needed, are striving.
The staff, being employed in an area where there are no jobs, cannot stop expressing their gratitude for not only being employed, but also able to help shape future minds.
Lasserre's Own Hands Inc, Keep up the good work.
This organization has been so resourceful, ambitious and committed since I was introduced to it about 2 years ago. I'll continue to support because their commitment to the children of our future resonates with me. God bless you!
Words cannot describe how much this organization, its founders and selfless volunteers are contributing to the positive change in such a small city in Haiti. The future of this organization, its mission and work depend on volunteers like us and I am committed to supporting in any way I can!
I actually visited the school. They are doing a fantastic job. Education is the backbone of any society. For a better future Haiti needs more kids to go to school.
I love the job this nonprofit organization is doing. Keep it up.
I learned about this nonprofit and the work that they do a few years ago, and it's one of the most incredibly selfless organizations I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They are dedicated and passionate about the mission and, despite the fact that it is an all-volunteer organization, they have had a tremendous impact in the time that they have been in existence.
After learning about this nonprofit, I have been so impressed by its dedication to provide an under-served community with the richness of education! Operated by a team of family members, their current goals are to maintain the school (by offering supplies, teacher salaries, teacher training and building maintenance) and to grow the school (by admitting more students and include more age groups). I have been warmly welcomed as a volunteer. This is a generous cause to support!
I started to donate to this non profit a few years ago but when I saw last week the story about a kid in Port-au-Prince Haiti who is 10 years old and was caught stealing from a car and how the people who caught him were tying him up on the car steering wheel with a rope to wait for police to arrive then I realize how important the work the people from Lasserres' Own Hands Inc is doing. More than 200 kids taking off the street who could have been stealing cars, becoming gangsters. More power to you folks, I will keep donating.
