Review for Excellence In Learning Community Co-Op, Newark, OH, USA
We have been blessed by ELCC for almost a decade now! We started attending when our 4 children were little and co-op day quickly became the favorite school day of the week! Now, our 2 oldest twins are graduating high school and we're about to have all teenagers. Co-op has grown with us and met our different needs along the way. From meeting friends (for the kids and myself), fun elective classes to round out our curriculum, recitals and field trips to Mom's nights, service projects, proms and sports teams, ELCC has helped make our homeschooling journey full and memorable! I have served in various leadership positions through the years and recently have helped with coaching girls volleyball and basketball. Last year I had the challenge and privilege to coach a team with my 3 daughters playing together. It's been pretty awesome!!
Review for Excellence In Learning Community Co-Op, Newark, OH, USA
We love this homeschooling community! Eight years ago, myself and our 4 children found ourselves isolated in our home education. We discovered ELCC and signed up for a couple of fun classes in hopes of establishing friendships. Co-op day quickly became the favorite school day of the week with each of us finding a place to belong. The more we connected and valued co-op, the more we have given back with our time. I became a teacher, then helped as a Facilities Coordinator, served as the Secretary and continue to give to ELCC now as a Doyenne board member. As an interdenominational Christian group, I have been so encouraged to see wonderful examples of faith, to see God's hand guiding our journey together, and to be part of a group that gives back to the surrounding community. I love seeing families find the support they need to be able to homeschool successfully! Through the years co-op has fulfilled the different needs of our family - sometimes through art, music and drama classes, and other times with core subjects like writing and science. Some families come for one class and others stay all day. This is the beauty of homeschooling and ELCC - the flexibility to make it fit to whatever the changing needs are in order to help our students thrive! The new curriculum library has saved our family hundreds of dollars already and makes it possible for other families to even consider homeschooling. And now with teenagers, these friendships are even more important and so much fun to share in milestone events like Proms, student showcases and graduations, not to mention all the other field trips and coordinated events. We love our ELCC family!!
