Review for Create Now, Inc., Los Angeles, CA, USA
I've been involved with Create Now! since 2005. I'm proof that this organization is of great benefit to those who seek the help of the folks who work here. As a former at-risk youth, I was offered the chance to change my life via music. I was introduced to a couple of mentors' and was given my very own Alto Saxophone. Recently, Create Now's founder got word that my horn was currently out of commission, and she was kind enough to present me with a brad new one so I can continue to practice toward my goal: to be come an international Jazz musician. Thanks Create Now! for being there every step of the way and supporting me in every way possible!

Review for Create Now, Inc., Los Angeles, CA, USA
Create now is a wonderful organization that helps and has helped at-risk youth become inspired to do things they never thought possible. It quite literally has saved the lives of kids that have come to the organization's offices with something as simple as a one-hour lesson with someone who wants to make a difference in people's lives. This wonderful organization needs all the help it can get in order to keep creating life experiences that will last a lifetime.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I was mentored by Smooth Jazz alto saxophonist Michael Lington for an hour, and it changed my life. I never thought that something as simple a one music lesson could change a person so dramatically.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
If I could make changes in this organization, I would get as many people as possible involved in making a difference in people's lives by taking the time to mentor a teen who wants and needs an outlet to express themselves.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The chance to make a complete turnaround in my life, and motivate others to the same.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Some of the greatest people I have ever met. Their giving attitudes are what have motivated me to also give back.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
move into a bigger office in order to have more space to conduct things like workshops, music lessons, motivational workshops and painting for kids and teens who want to find a way to express themselves.
Ways to make it better...
My experience would've been better if this organization could motivate other musicians to give their time to a great cause.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
It's economic state, the lack of publicity, the lack of mentors.
One thing I'd also say is that...
If everyone could at least give one dollar to help out this organization, it would make a huge difference in the lives of so many kids who need it. It would also be great if people with any kind of skill could lend their time to mentor one of these kids.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About once a year
