Review for Katy Christian Ministries, Katy, TX, USA
KCM does so very much for the Katy/West Houston Community! KCM's Crisis Center assists those affected by domestic abuse and sexual abuse by providing support, education, and resources to meet the needs of survivors in the community and surrounding areas. Did you know we have a 24/7 hotline for domestic and sexual abuse? [Domestic Abuse Hotline: 281.391.HELP(4357) and Sexual Abuse Hotline: 281.693.RAPE(7273)]
We also provide a host of social services and have a food pantry as well! KCM now has 2 resale stores which help to raise funds as well as provide items for its clients in need! This is only a small taste of all that we do!
We have many events that help the community that you can get involved in! You can participate in, donate to or volunteer for! Or you can do all three! Some of there events include the Bubble Run, (formally the Color Run), Red Apple School Supply Drive, Santa's Sleigh just to name a few! You can donate you time, resources, items, do food drives, etc. You can volunteer as an individual, or with an organization such as your employer, school, civic organization or church, etc.
The passion, commitment, dedication and grace of the staff is amazing! The staff and volunteers all serve with love, compassion and zeal! I must say that Katy Christian Ministries is truly about transforming lives through God’s grace and the generosity of the community. KCM truly lives by it's mission statement!
KCM services are offered to everyone in our community regardless of any religious background or affiliation. At KCM I see all people of all ages, all abilities and all stages of life working and volunteering. I started volunteering and serving to give back and left feeling more a part of my community than ever. I am always encouraged by the staff and even other volunteers to use my gifts and talents to bless the community. Being a volunteer has been life changing. I am blessed to volunteer for Tammi Biel the volunteer coordinator and everyone on the administrative staff under the direction of Deysi Crespo. Her team is so amazing!
The more volunteers and donations received, the more people in the community we can touch. Without our incredible team of staff and volunteers, KCM would not be able to serve so many families in the Katy/West Houston community. Volunteers made it possible to serve 726,706 lbs of food to 3,166 families in 2017! After Hurricane Harvey flooded our offices and store in 2017, Volunteers made it possible to continue serving families who had also flooded, providing them with food, dry clothes, cleaning supplies and more.
KCM is truly #VolunteerPowered! I can't stop, won't stop serving! It is so rewarding! Especially for an organization such as this! To learn more visit: https://ktcm.org TODAY
