Started receiving food bank distribution in September. Tried to pickup Tuesday and was turned away by a constable at the driveway because I didn't have a time frame voucher. I do not drive and must rely on others for transportation. I do not have a way of being there at 7 am to get a time voucher for later in the morning, not to mention that was the first time hearing it was needed. I truly feel I am being discriminated against because of my transportation issues. I'm sure I'm not the only senior citizen in this position. I guess those of us that are unable to come twice in the same day for food times and later for distribution just go without.

Katy Christian Ministries cares about the people who come through their doors. They want to do everything they can to help those in need in their community. They need funds from the community to do this special work. I donate every year to help the mission and encourage everyone to help.

KCM has been a staple in the Katy community for 39 years, and the devoted employees care and really try to help everyone seeking assistance. The agency stands behind the grace of faith and humanity, and it shows within every department, every program, and every service provided.

I am a disabled single mom of a disabled child. I just got out of the ICU and desperately need some help. I went to KCM they told me I needed to leave because it was lunch time. It was 11:45. I told them I just needed the application and she huffed at me and I said it isn’t noon quite yet. She told me they don’t have money available and to come back next week. I did and they told me the same thing, no money, come back next week. I did this 4 times. I tried calling them to save myself the drive and exhaustion while being in recovery but no one answers the phones. Today I went and the managers were having a big meeting. Well, I can tell you where all the money goes. All of them were driving some very expensive cars. Mercedes and Cadillacs all over the parking lot!!! Tell me they are not helping themselves opposed to helping those in need. IRS needs to do an audit! Member of public because they DID NOT HELP ME, they are keeping the money for themselves.

I love both of my case managers the Luci's , one covers my veterans needs, and the other my growth, and job readiness. This organization has helped me when I thought I didn’t need it, and comes right on time . I’m very thankful for finding them , in my transition to single mom of toddlers , and figuring out new job opportunities.

My wife and I volunteer at the KCM Food Pantry; and I also assist Diana Miller with giving the New Volunteer Orientation Training. I have seen many remarkable places and experienced many exciting things as a retired Army Officer and Corporate Manager but serving as a KCM volunteer ranks right up there with God, family, and country. My wife and I get so much fulfillment, joy, and happiness helping our clients. Seeing the gratefulness in the faces of our clients as we load food into the cars is an answer to their prayers during difficult times and a heartfelt blessing for us to serve and give back to those in need. KCM needs more volunteers that are willing to give a little of their time to help serve the community. Please log on to the KCM web site and make a difference in someone’s life.

The Crisis Center with KCM has been such as wonderful place. It is evident that all the staff truly cares about helping the community. I have seen so many opportunities for outreach to help those in the community and various organizations understand the work being done. The unfortunate truth is the large number of people affected by domestic violence and sexual assault in the community. It is great to have the KCM Crisis Center advocates and counselors to help those in dire need, with resources, support, empathy, and genuine care. Highly recommended to all those in the community going through rough times!

Katy Christian Ministries Crisis Center has been an amazing resource for the community to use as it pertains to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The advocates and professional counselors are always going above and beyond to ensure that the community heals emotionally and mentally. Celina and her team truly cares for their clients and it shows in all of the work that they do. There aren't enough works to express the goodness that comes from this organization as they work tirelessly to provide for others. I highly recommend them to all that is/have dealt with DV and SA to begin their healing process.

I know the executive director Deysi. I started assisting in the food pantry, bringing in toiletries for our clients. I then noticed, that we did not have a plan for children to have Easter Baskets, or to have a Birthday celebration. No child should ever go without a birthday gift of some sort!

So I brought the ideas to the table. We will be doing our 4th annual Easter Project in 2022. Our Birthday Closet was slow going, as the pandemic hit when we started it, but in 2021 it has been utilized by many families.

The Easter Project is 100+ children who receive a basket, filled with different items as well as a small stuffed animal, and a chocolate bunny along with other candy.

The Birthday Closet offers, almost everything a parent may need to make a small celebration for each child's birthday. We have, disposable cake pans, cake mix, frosting, candles, oil(when available), tube decorating frosting to write on cake, a party pack(cups, plates, forks and napkins)
gifts for ages 1 to 18, gift bags, birthday cards.

I was one of these kids while growing up. So it means the world to me to run these two projects for KCM clients!

Our senior group gathers sample size toiletries and personal care items for KCM’s Crisis Center. The caring folks we have dealt with have been very helpful in educating our group on how we can get hundreds of seniors involved in the project. They have been most appreciative of our efforts. My story is very personal & so very hard to talk about but here goes. I was in nursing for almost 18 years & 3 yrs ago I fell & broke my back & my tail bone in half & had to have surgery & have my tail bone removed & then 4 back surgeries which led to me needing to go on disability & now for the last 3 yrs I have not been able to work & will never be able to work again. Then this past January 2021 I was shot & raped by someone I thought I could trust & this has forever changed my life for the worse & sent me into a huge depression. Due to these events I lost everything including my apartment for me & my children. Now being homeless & no vehicle & 3 kids it has been the roughest point in my life. I have been trying to pay for hotels for us every night & couch surfing because living on Social Security Disability my income is limited & it’s very hard to come up with the money to get us into a new home so we can start to live again like we once were. Any help for us would be a blessing. Thank u in advance and God bless.

I have never seen a more dedicated staff at all the locations that manage to gracefully maneuver through ever changing economic and financial situations. The staff managed to deal daily with clients and volunteers that often have their own frustrations without ever losing sight of the values of KCM. A remarkable gem in the Katy area!!

Katy Christian Ministries is known as the best non-profit social service in the Katy, West Houston, Fulshear, and Simonton areas of Texas. KCM does so very much for the Katy/West Houston Community! KCM's Crisis Center assists those affected by domestic abuse and sexual abuse by providing support, education, and resources to meet the needs of survivors in the community and surrounding areas. Did you know we have a 24/7 hotline for domestic and sexual abuse? [Domestic Abuse Hotline: 281.391.HELP(4357) and Sexual Abuse Hotline: 281.693.RAPE(7273)]

We also provide a host of social services and have a food pantry as well! KCM now has 2 resale stores which help to raise funds as well as provide items for its clients in need! This is only a small taste of all that we do!

We have many events that help the community that you can get involved in! You can participate in, donate to or volunteer for! Or you can do all three! Some of there events include the Bubble Run, (formally the Color Run), Red Apple School Supply Drive, Santa's Sleigh just to name a few! You can donate you time, resources, items, do food drives, etc. You can volunteer as an individual, or with an organization such as your employer, school, civic organization or church, etc.

The passion, commitment, dedication and grace of the staff is amazing! The staff and volunteers all serve with love, compassion and zeal! I must say that Katy Christian Ministries is truly about transforming lives through God’s grace and the generosity of the community. KCM truly lives by it's mission statement!

KCM services are offered to everyone in our community regardless of any religious background or affiliation. At KCM I see all people of all ages, all abilities and all stages of life working and volunteering. I started volunteering and serving to give back and left feeling more a part of my community than ever. I am always encouraged by the staff and even other volunteers to use my gifts and talents to bless the community. Being a volunteer has been life changing. I am blessed to volunteer for Tammi Biel the volunteer coordinator and everyone on the administrative staff under the direction of Deysi Crespo. Her team is so amazing!

The more volunteers and donations received, the more people in the community we can touch. Without our incredible team of staff and volunteers, KCM would not be able to serve so many families in the Katy/West Houston community. Volunteers made it possible to serve 726,706 lbs of food to 3,166 families in 2017! After Hurricane Harvey flooded our offices and store in 2017, Volunteers made it possible to continue serving families who had also flooded, providing them with food, dry clothes, cleaning supplies and more.

KCM is truly #VolunteerPowered! I can't stop, won't stop serving! It is so rewarding! Especially for an organization such as this! To learn more visit: https://ktcm.org TODAY
Or better yet, Apply TODAY to Volunteer by visiting https://ktcm.org/volunteer/. There is a simple and easy application to complete. Then just show up to attend a regularly scheduled volunteer orientation or Coffee Talk and you can get started! We hope to see you soon!

Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) has a community food fair on the last Saturday of every month, outside on the parking lot of a partner church. The goal is to provide free produce and other food items to anyone in need. It is amazing to watch all the volunteers in action, about 40-60 volunteers each tme. It's quite an operation. But, they do it with a lot of love! Through this initiative, KCM serves on average about 350 families in a 2-hour food distribution timeframe. The families benefiting from this program go home with a big smile. KCM is truly making a difference in the community. This is just one of the many initiatives they engage in, addressing food insecurity on a broader scale, with community support to make an impact together!
