I learned about Fiver thru a Women Giving circle called Impact 100 NYC where we selected them as a Grantee for $100K towards the building of a camp cabin for High School seniors. I have since volunteered as well, doing mock interviews and presentation skills for these young adults and have enjoyed their commitment and dedication to learning. This program is so well developed and have me great alumnae who show the poise and confidence gained thru their 10 year engagement in the Fiver program.

I have volunteered in person over the for past 6 years with my family in cooking and/or handing out meals. My son had also been performing live music with his local school jazz band for guests' lunches. The continuous meal service and resourcefulness during this pandemic and other disasters in the past such a 9/11 or Fireor Hurrican Sandy is unmatched in this city of needs.

This group of dedicated volunteers help 3rd graders throughout NYC public schools get access to their very own books and learn how to shop for books. It is a very rewarding experience for the kids, teachers and volunteers who have a recurring relationship with the assigned classroom over the school year. It is not large time commitment and yet you see immediate impact at the local level.

They do a wonderful job of giving books to children with low access to them. Volunteer experience is also very organized and positive in sorting books by age category.
