Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
I applied to adopt a puppy through a different rescue organization. I received an email message saying that my application had been received, but was never contacted again. When I found a puppy that interested me on the Operation Paws for Homes website, I filled out an application and was contacted less than two days later even though it was a holiday weekend. From that point on, the process went very quickly, with frequent communications from the Operation Paws for Homes staff and the puppy's foster mom.
We ended up adopting the puppy that I had originally chosen when he was old enough to leave his mother and we are so thrilled to have him. Prior to him coming to our home, he had already been seen by the vet at least twice for his initial examinations, shots, medications and microchipping. All through the process, we received resources and advice about preparing for, caring for and training our new puppy. The people who work at Operation Paws for Homes have a lot of dog experience. If I ever need advice about my pup, they will be a great source of information.
