Review for Diabetes Hands Foundation, Berkeley, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Diabetes Hand Foundation sponsors TuDiabetes, a message board for diabetics. I have been diabetic for almost 27 years now and suffer from some complications. I have learned a lot being able to talk to other diabetics online and also enjoy being able to help others by sharing the things that I know. I have gastroparesis and doctors were not able to help me figure out how to get good blood sugar control - I learned that by talking to others with the same problem. TuDiabetes has been a life changer for me and really appreciate the fact that Manny and others work hard to provide the message board for us.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

When I decided to get a Dexcom CGMS and an insulin pump, fellow TuDiabetes board members helped make that transition very smooth.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wish that people. including myself, could give more money so the Diabetes Hand Foundation could expand on the things that it does.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The ability to interact with other diabetics and share what I know and learn new stuff.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Extremely helpful and kind.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Reach out to all diabetics to make sure they are well educated in their disease.

Ways to make it better...

I can't say there is anything I would change since my experience has been very positive.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Probably fund raising to make sure they can get enough money to keep things going.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Thank you Manny and everyone else at TuDiabetes for everything that you do.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  General Member of the Public & I have shared the things I have learned with other diabetics.
