I started following this charity's website and when I was in the area, took a chance and stopped to visit.
I expected a hard-working parrot shelter with cages everywhere.
I discovered a sanctuary with free-flighted areas for parrots, cages with doors left open so birds, not humans, could choose whether to stay in a cage or come out, so many toys climbing areas and enrichment, and a fierce advocate for parrot welfare and care in the owner, Sonya Brewer. This rescue is the real deal.
