My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for National Council on Aging, Arlington, VA, USA
After losing my job of 2 1/2 years I was advised to contact the NCOA for help in locating another job. I am 67 and have cancer, looking for a part time job, and despite my medical issue I am active and functional. I was told that since I made too much money last year they would not be able to help me. I don't see the relevance of this today, unemployed and striving to make ends meet today. No help for me until I live impoverished for a year. Then I think I was told any job I got would only be for two years and I guess I would be back in the same boat I am in now. How is this helping the aging? After reading posts on your site that some people only get $15 in food stamps I don't see where your agency is much help. You appear to post articles that could be helpful and found anywhere other than your site. I don't need you to tell me to contact my representative, I know I can do that. So exactly what is it that you do? You see to be an over-rated government agency. I am sure this post will be removed in a timely fashion.
