Review for Georgia Public Policy Foundation Inc, Atlanta, GA, USA
My name is Tina Coria and I am the current Chairman of the Georgia National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Foundation that advocates for the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program, created by former US Senators Sam Nunn and John McCain to address what the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) deemed, in 1992 and still is today, to be the greatest domestic threat to our nation: high school dropouts. The Youth ChalleNGe Program operates under the authority of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, administered through the Chief, National Guard Bureau, and executed by the Adjutants General of the States and Territories. In Georgia, we have three Youth ChalleNGe Academies located at Fort Stewart, Fort Gordon and Milledgeville, which our Foundation serves. Since my earlier days working for Senator Nunn when he created this program, to now serving as the Georgia Youth ChalleNGe Foundation Chairman, I have relied heavily on the Georgia Public Policy Foundation (GPPF) to be our go-to as a non-partisan think tank for policy ideas to address constantly emerging issues by developing thoughtful and successful solutions that have served us well to keep our program in Georgia--Number One. I am most thankful for GPPF and look so forward to our continued partnership as we kick-off the next phase of Youth ChalleNGe to assist our Youth ChalleNGe Cadets with workforce development. It is currently in a pilot trial at Fort Stewart called Job ChalleNGe. Since 1991, I have counted on GPPF as my sterling asset in developing public policy initiatives that are both positive and practical in meeting and exceeding the challenges we face in our global society, without compromising our Georgia values!
