I am a mom of three kids ages 11, 9, & 3, and my youngest child has Down syndrome. A Mother’s Rest gave me three nights of uninterrupted sleep of which I was completely deprived. I came back home feeling refreshed and full of energy again. I was able to handle the little daily things better than before my respite retreat. This non-profit organization provides these retreats to moms like me at low or no cost. The only rule for the moms is to allow the other mom(s) complete privacy while each is in her room. So you can sleep as long as you want! But what’s great is having the option to come out of your room and have another mom in the living room or kitchen or other common area and she is also there for a respite and then you have a buddy for dinner. It is wonderful.
