Review for Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League of the Palm Beaches Inc, West Palm Beach, FL, USA
We adopted two sister kittens for my daughters from Peggy Adams Rescue in 1994. The girls had stepped in very willingly to become extra moms to the baby I delivered two months after surviving a massive stroke. The girls put their newly acquired mothering skills into practice, raising the kittens through their demise, one in December at the age of 19 and the other in January at the age of 20. My son chose a puppy he named Cookie the following year. That dog lived to the ripe old age of 17.
In 2010, he decided to adopt another dog. Athena was the six month old who was destined to be ours. Having been previously adopted then returned due to her high activity level, she was perfect for us. Two years later, we adopted a kitten from a family and then two years after that, a third puppy joined our home.
Recently I have felt depressed thinking that I could be doing more now that I was retired. My husband and I discussed the possibility of adopting one last animal, perhaps a kitten, to complete our family. I completed the adoption application and found out the four month old kitten that we had decided upon was promised to another couple. Knowing that I was still supposed to adopt another kitten, I found Loren at Peggy Adams! My counselor, Holly, was very helpful and after going over my application, asked who I was interested in seeing. Loren turned out to be the kitten for me. We have since changed her name to Dasher, a Christmas name and part of her personality. Seeing her establish herself among the three other pets we have has made this wee kitten seem more like a giant!
Thank you, Peggy Adams Rescue, for the wonderful and rewarding work you do.
