We wanted to adopt a small dog and knew they often get adopted quickly. On Friday we walked through the dog room looking for our dog. Ralph decided Lilly looked like she’d fit our needs and we’d fit hers. Like us she’s a senior, has a few medical issues, is friendly and quietly reserved. On Saturday we got the call from the vet and we’re told we could pick her up on Sunday. We anxiously waited till we could pick her up and take her home.
She seemed right at home and has fit in well. She has no bad behaviors, just lots of tail wagging love. We’ve both fallen for her cuteness and personality. We can’t thank you enough!
My boyfriend & I adopted our dog Bailey a little over a month ago. We had a great experience with Peggy Adams. The staff was knowledgeable and professional, and the adoptions team worked to make sure the dog we took home would be a good fit for us.
This was my first time adopting a dog from a rescue and it won’t be my last. Peggy Adams made this the best experience. Being a vegetarian and animal activist, I noticed right away that they truly love and respect animals the way that I do.
Peanut Vincent Van Gogh aka Skippy is a God sent fur angel that came into our lives at a time of despair after losing two fur babies in a ten month time period.
He brings so much joy into our lives. Thank You !! Peggy Adams for being there for him at a time of need in his life and bringing him into our life.
We adopted Teddy AKA Tommy on March 14th 2019.
David D. was our adoption representative. David was very efficient and accommodating, we could not have asked for a better experience. We adopted a precious little 11 lb. cookie monster and he is a very good boy. We highly recommend Peggy Adams Rescue Center, be sure to apply with them when you are ready to adopt.

Wonderful experience finding my feline fur baby. Staff was very helpful in guiding me through the process of finding the perfect kitty for me. They were also sure to make sure my home would be good for the cat I adopted. The staff truly loves the animals. The place is immaculate and the animals seem very well attended to. If I lived closer, I’d look to be a volunteer there.
I have worked for 5 years as a volunteer for Peggy Adams. I’m Canadian and spend my winters in South Florida, so I only volunteer 6 months each year. I have fostered kittens, worked in their temporary retails stores, delivered cats and kittens to stores that they partner with to get more animals adopted out and I’m a client service assistant at the main campus. Why? Because they have the most dedicated staff who are “All about the animals”. Oh, and because I get to deal with animal lovers (staff and clients) who, by definition are nicer people.
Back in 1985 I had rescued a feral cat taking to Peggy Adams to have her spayed and get her shots. I have seen how Peggy Adams has gone from it’s small dome to top tier services and facilities for all animals in need. I also have benefited from their TNVR program in 2016 having 4 feral cats that were trapped and released feeding and caring for them.
I adopted a beautiful cat yesterday and it was such an easy process! Great place and very clean! Very friendly enviornment. Thanks so much! JL
My first introduction with Peggy Adams was end of life services for a very senior dog. I was so impressed with how compassionate everyone I dealt with was. They really all understood how difficult the process was for me. Shortly after that, I decided I wanted to be involved with an organization like this given my love for animals. So for the past 7 years, I have been a volunteer. Volunteering is so rewarding, being able to be part of this great organization and helping the animals. So I was a “client served” turned “volunteer”!
I have been so impressed with how well run and organized Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is. The astonishing numbers of animals saved and the quantity of programs offered for potential adopters/adopters and even the community is impressive and wide reaching. It is easy to see the positive impact this organization has had within the community and sets the standard for animal rescue shelters nation wide.
Our adoption experience was second to none, beginning to end! We were welcomed and made to feel comfortable interacting with cats and kittens. The cat habitat is absolutely beautiful and all the enclosures were clean. You could tell they were all taken care of with love! My son knew Dobby aka "Gene" was his cat as soon as he reached his paw through to touch him! We met Holly and she allowed us to interact with him in a private room, where he immediately curled up on my son's lap and that was it-the bond was formed! Holly was extremely kind, but more importantly, honest. At the present time, Dobby had some past medical issues and he would have to be cleared by the vet, and that could take a few days. We were also informed, that if he had a permanent condition, we would have the option to take on the medical responsibility or deny the adoption. Other than the human/animal connection, this was the most important phase of the adoption: honesty. We wanted to move forward and waited for the results, which came a few days later and we were finally able to take Dobby home! The final process was educational, seamless, and joyful! Holly was truly amazing throughout the process. It made my son so proud that she commented on what a kind and well-behaved child he was. You can tell Holly loves her job caring for and rescuing animals, and finding them loving homes. We are so appreciative of her and Peggy Adams for our new family member and for the work they do saving animals!
I had a great experience talking to the staff at Peggy Adams deciding if Adopting was the right decision for me. I decided I wasn't ready but I will be back. Just the friendliest staff and
nice, clean facility. thank you
I recently used the end of life cremation services at Peggy Adams. The people there are so caring and understanding. My little guy Rio was put to rest at my vet that morning. I went straight to Peggy Adams for cremation. I was led to a quiet, private room. The young gentleman who took care of the paperwork was very gentle and soft spoken. I just picked up the urn with my little guy's remains. There was a nice card and a red rose in the box. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend Peggy Adams for their end of life services.
Mom and I adopted a wonderful little chihuahua named Rio in March of 2017. Mom had just lost her 16 year old chi companion. The staff at Peggy Adams were very understanding and compassionate. Our adoption coordinator showed us a few pictures of the dogs in their care. Each dog has a detailed description of their personality and medical history. We chose the little guy that looked like he needed us the most. He was so small, just 5 pounds and depressed. He just melted into Mom's arms, we knew he was the one. The adoption process went very smoothly. We were happy to purchase supplies from the Boutique as this little gut needed all new stuff of his very own. He just loves squeaky toys! We will continue to use the Peggy Adams vaccine clinic for his vaccines. The staff there really care about the animals.
This is our second adoption of a dog, We also have adopted a kitten from them. We love Peggy Adams so much, their compassion for saving lives and ability to match you with the perfect furbaby is very much appreciated.
We adopt Shemi our beautiful Catahula, in January 2013. She is a wonderful addition to our family, very loving, playful and patient with our 5 yr old son. Shemi spent about 6 months at Peggy Adams, as they nursed her back to health. Peggy Adams is a wonderful facility, very clean, the adoptees are all well taken care of, clean, loved on, walked. I would highly recommend Peggy Adams when deciding to adopt a pet.
I adopted the sweetest dog from Peggy Adams Animal Rescue. The process was reflective of a well organized institution, thorough but not overwhelming. I was greeted immediately at the door and walked through the entire process by either a staff member or volunteer. Choosing a new family member is both exciting and nerve wracking, but with the help of Peggy Adams I found the perfect little girl for me. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to adopt a new friend.
Peggy adams was truly amazing!!! I have a 4yr old so getting w new pet was a little scary!!! Holly answered all of my questions and helped us find our sweet quinn, her and my daughter love each other so much already!!! I highly recommend usuing oeggy adams when adding any new family memeber to your home
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is the home of a caring, passionate, and outstanding group of hardworking people that put every ounce of their heart into loving and nurturing animals! They really do put animals first! Great job! Great shelter!
Last week Stuffin joined our family and we couldn't be more ecstatic! Our visit to Peggy Adams cat room amazed us. It was so nice to see cats able to roam about freely, nap in creative spots, play with humans and felines alike or rest quietly in their comfort zones. After visiting with so many cuties, we chose Stuffin because of his disposition and description - which stated he was familiar with dogs. Having 3 dogs ourselves, we felt Stuffin was the purrfect match and it couldn't be more true! Stuffin has made an easy transition and we just can't get enough of him! He is so loving, playful and doesn't mind his new brother and sisters. Thank you Peggy Adams and its volunteers for caring so much about animals.
We adopted two sister kittens for my daughters from Peggy Adams Rescue in 1994. The girls had stepped in very willingly to become extra moms to the baby I delivered two months after surviving a massive stroke. The girls put their newly acquired mothering skills into practice, raising the kittens through their demise, one in December at the age of 19 and the other in January at the age of 20. My son chose a puppy he named Cookie the following year. That dog lived to the ripe old age of 17.
In 2010, he decided to adopt another dog. Athena was the six month old who was destined to be ours. Having been previously adopted then returned due to her high activity level, she was perfect for us. Two years later, we adopted a kitten from a family and then two years after that, a third puppy joined our home.
Recently I have felt depressed thinking that I could be doing more now that I was retired. My husband and I discussed the possibility of adopting one last animal, perhaps a kitten, to complete our family. I completed the adoption application and found out the four month old kitten that we had decided upon was promised to another couple. Knowing that I was still supposed to adopt another kitten, I found Loren at Peggy Adams! My counselor, Holly, was very helpful and after going over my application, asked who I was interested in seeing. Loren turned out to be the kitten for me. We have since changed her name to Dasher, a Christmas name and part of her personality. Seeing her establish herself among the three other pets we have has made this wee kitten seem more like a giant!
Thank you, Peggy Adams Rescue, for the wonderful and rewarding work you do.
Peggy Adams has found us three beautiful cats to be part of our home. The rescue is spotless, the staff and volunteers are terrific and the kittens and cats are well taken care of all the time. We would recommend this rescue to anyone looking for a kitty to love like ours.
Our dog, Benji, a wonderful Shepherd Mix, died suddenly in his sleep two months before his twelfth birthday. So with a heavy heart, we decided to find a rescue who we could love and care for. We decided to try Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and after a brief wait, we met with an adoption counselor who introduced us to a Bassett Hound mix, Lola, and we brought her home. She seemed very frightened at first. It's now been 3-weeks and, after an uneasy adjustment, Lola appears to be settling in and is realizing that she can trust us. We are grateful for the support of the staff and it's great knowing I can call for advice on behavior if we need it.
Went into pet store for random supplies...came out with an adorable cuddly kitten. Already spayed and healthy and very well adjusted considering her back story. Took her to the vet and she got her rabies shot with no issue and she tested negative for those awful feline diseases. All in all a great experience and
I know my $150 donation will go to great use.
The people at PeggyAdams rescue were terrific. I don’t know how they do it. I’d want to take all the animals home with me. The place was very clean and the animals were well cared for. They conduct a good check of potential adoptive parents and provided the health records for each animal. We took home an amazing little cat that has fit in great in our home and become BFF’s with our existing cat. Thank you so much for what you do.
My sister recently had to euthanize her beloved Molly, and this organization could not have been more understanding and respectful. My sister and Molly were not in a cold, sterilized examination room, but a room much like a cozy living room. Everything was done at my sister’s pace, with no rush, and everyone she came into contact with treated them both with dignity—right through to Molly’s end. As any pet lover knows, when that time comes, it is so difficult.
She was able to adopt a “senior for seniors” afterward in honor of Molly. All those in the adoption department were respectful of her loss and gentle when helping her make a decision. The people I spoke with on the phone in both departments were so helpful. Peggy Adams is a “class act”, and as an animal lover, I appreciate their efforts.
After the loss of our 12yr old, rescued RatChi in early May, we realized how much we missed having a dog in our home. Our two senior cats, brought up with our dogs, appeared to be as sad as we were following this loss. We went to Peggy Adams rescue to look for that " just right" addition to our family.
We were very impressed with the knowledge, compassion and professionalism of our Adoption Counselor, Julie. After much discussion of our family and the personality of a dog that would fit into our home and enjoy living with two cats, we were introduced to two sweet, small mix breed dogs. Both were described as "Wallflowers", very quiet and easily frightened. Our Winni was the second of the "meet and greet" pups. Her quick lick on my face before leaving the office sealed the deal. We have been happy everyday since. She is no longer a Wallflower and is much more a Busybee and a bit of a Goof. She keeps us laughing and she is adjusting so quickly to life with my husband and I and the cats.
We have had dogs and cats throughout our many years of marriage and all have been rescues. We consider our choice to adopt from Peggy Adams the wisest decision and the easiest, most effective process we have ever experienced. The staff and volunteers at Peggy Adams are clearing animal lovers and devoted to getting their charges to not just a home but to the best furever home.
Winni popped a suture on her spay incision and I called the clinic and got up there early to have her checked out. The Vets and staff were wonderful. With antibiotics and some activity restriction, Winni was completely healed in a few days. We have since had her checked by our Vet and he was quite impressed with her and found her healthy and charming.
Just to add that their Shop is fantastic; they have a lovely assortment of items at great prices. We have returned to say hello to Julie and to purchase Winni's heartworm medication and food supplies. Although we thought Winni might not find a visit back there easy, she recognized several staff/volunteers and appeared as happy to see them and they appeared to see her. Thank you to all at Peggy Adams for helping us find Winni.
Wow! So impressed by the adoption process at Peggy Adams! Their website is great, and we found Zeus there before we met him in person---- but once we got there, we met so many amazing dogs that when we finally met our adoption specialist, Holly, we had quite a list! She helped us narrow down our search to a dog that was suitable to our family and our home.....and it was meant to be! Zeus has a forever home, and has been a blessing to us! Thank you Peggy Adams!!!
Everyone at Peggy Adam was professional on very nice. There knowlegde of all the pets was amazing. These people love there jobs and it show. Adopting a dog was exciting and educating all in one. What a great experience.
Yesterday we adopted our second dog from Peggy Adams. We adopted a dog about 9 years ago from Peggy Adams and he was wonderful. He passed away last year. Yesterday I went back and adopted a female who seems to be just what I needed. What I liked most is the thorough history they go over with you so I knew a lot about Bella before I decided to adopt her and give her a forever home. Since I wanted to adopt an adult dog I think the history is very important. I was able to have a “meet and greet” with our present male dog. Everything went easily and I loved working with Margi because she was thorough and didn’t rush me through. Thank you to you all!!
Very willing and helpful staff! I adopted my best friend Tiger from this organization. Even tho my puppy was adopted and returned 3 times, the amazing team never gave up on him until he found his forever home. They neautered him, treated him for heartworm, sicknesses, and an ear infection and kept him utd on all his vaccines. I fell in love with his sweet personality and am so thankfully Peggy Adams gives innocent animals like Tiger the chances they deserve. I donated every dollar I could to their organization for him. If you’re looking for a best friend, Peggy Adams is the place to go. A big thank you to all the counselors and behavior specialists that helped me find the dog of my dreams!
After losing 2 family pets in 3 years we decided to close our hearts back in 2010. On Dec 31,2017 we adopted Cici or shall I say she rescued us! She has been a Joy, and has been the most affectionate gentle animal we could have ever asked for! We believe she was meant for us and are so blessed to have been chosen by her to be her furrever parents
Staff was great, accomodating. Saw a cat we wanted to bring home! While waiting, he was already adopted out. I "James" was spending some time in a different room ran into KeKe, brought Michelle to see her! Turned out for the better, we have no girls! KeKe came home and settled in pretty fast with the others! She a great addition, with her joyfull/pushy personality! One 14 year old male pitbull (Damien), two male black cats. Bobtail-(Tike) Shy-(Pepper), and now crazy/fun-(KeKe)... Tyke came from Peggy Adam as well, and was our Daughters cat, who had recently passed away. So we took Tyke in, and now we have 3 cats and one Dog... These animals/New family members, have really helped us get through some bad times, giving us unconditional love and helping us laugh a lot! They all get along really well!!! Thank you guys at Peggy Adam, You guys are the best!
This is our new baby Brady who we adopted from Peggy Adams Animal Rescue. Brady was at our local Pet Supermarket and melted my heart. The adoption process was smooth and the wonderful staff at Peggy Adams followed up with us post adoption to check in on Brady’s transition to his forever home. Thank you Peggy Adams Animal Rescue!
The adoption was a breeze and the fact that she's microchipped really puts my mind at ease, knowing that if she got out, she can easily be returned to us. Peggy Adams, we loved doing business with you and we're SO happy to see pet stores carrying your animals. We couldn't be more happy! Beans is our newest member and we love her and so do our dogs! She plays with them and takes no nonsense from them. LOL She's the best!
It was an ordinary afternoon. Ordinary, at least for a little while. Somehow, through the great art of conversation, my husband and I decided to go see some cats who were up for adoption. This brought us to Peggy Adams. We parked the car. Then we got out. The air smelled nice. There's a certain aroma that a place that does a great thing has. We walked in. It was big. Lot's of people worked there. Someone greeted us. She led us to the cats. Really, going there, I did not know what to expect. I was very surprised. All the cats were in rooms. These had glass doors. I thought it was clean and pleasant. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They answered questions on behavior, health, and adjustment issues. My cat, Athena, has become family. Furthermore, let me say this: I have a good friend who helps stray cats. Peggy Adams has spayed or neutered a number of his pets, under a grant program. Peggy Adams is clean. It is just a great place. Peggy Adams is doing a wonderful thing.
