Review for K9's For Freedom & Independence, Collinsville, TX, USA
This not for profit forcibly took away a service dog from someone with debilitating PTSD. The reason has not been provided from the organization as to why the dog was forcibly removed by a member of this not for profit. I believe this is all based on personal feelings toward the person using the service dog and NOT by business policy.
Swift is not a Service Dog. Only after training with us for at least a year and going through our rigid certification process and passing, would any of our dogs be considered a Service Dog. Christa was supposed to go through a training and rehabilitation program with us and our dog. She disappeared with our dog for over 2.5 months and moved from Texas to Utah during that time. She only made maybe 9 trainings appointments out of approximately 50 she was supposed to go to in the 9 months she had Swift. She did not follow the instructions and guidance of our trainers and constantly argued about our training process. The hard descision was made to reclaim our dog. The contract is clear and was signed by Christa and the Organization. Rules are for everyone and everyone else follows them, so should Christa.
