Bella is a 12 yr old Bull-Mastiff. She was my Fugitive Recovery partner until her retirement in 2017. She was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the weight bearing digit on her right front paw. She is in great condition which made her the perfect candidate for the amputation recommended by 3 different DVM's.
The procedure was to cost $1,500 min. The problem I had was I was still paying on her $9,000 surgery from 2016 and couldn't afford the whole $1,500. I applied to Actors & Others For Animals for help.
Beverly called me the day after I submitted the application. She told me that the organization wanted to help Bella get the surgery she needed. If it wasn't for Actors & Others For Animals, Bella wouldn't be alive today.
Today, Bella is almost completely recovered and will soon be visiting a local Convalescent Hospital to put smiles on patients faces.
