We had 3 dogs. One dog died in March 15 years old. Second dog died in April 10 years old our last dog is 10yrs old she has kidney stones. She needed surgery to remove them, Or we would have had to put her down, Because she couldn't pass them. Surgery went well. She is recovering. She has a follow-up appointment to do another urine test and make sure everything's okay, thank you very much for your help. Sorry it won't let me upload a photo of her.
I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Actors & Others For Animals for their incredible support during a challenging time for my beloved furbaby, Pugsly. After his diagnosis of bladder stones, I was overwhelmed with worry and the financial burden of his surgery. When I reached out to Actors & Others, they stepped in without hesitation, offering the assistance I desperately needed. It’s organizations like this that remind us of the kindness and compassion in our community.
Your dedication and hard work made a world of difference. Thanks to the generous contribution from Actors & Others, Pugsly is on the road to recovery, and I will be forever grateful for the support we received. Thank you for making a positive impact in our lives!
I cannot thank Actors and Others for Animals enough for the incredible support they gave me and my dog during a really difficult time. From the moment I contacted them, the team at Actors and Others was compassionate, understanding, and truly dedicated to helping. Their support made all the difference—not only financially, but emotionally too. Thanks to them, my dog got the care she needed, and no longer has the persistent ear infection. I’m beyond grateful for their kindness, their generosity, and their incredible mission to help animals and the people who love them. They are truly a blessing.
Thanks to Actors and Others for helping my pet Ruby in a time of need, I took her in for spaying and discovered she had pyometra. There was no way I could afford all the cost. So I asked to put her down. Actor and others was called and they spoke in my behalf to animal hospital . There assistance was outstanding and I was able to take my Ruby home! Thank you so much to all of you- you are all so caring and understanding and helpful
Actors & Others For Animals is such a great nonprofit. My baby boy Alfie broke his tooth and was causing him so much pain. Actors & Others quickly stepped up and helped provide the service he needed immediately. His operation went smoothly and Alfie was back his usual self if not even happier and pain free. This nonprofit organization is simply just doing amazing and that’s just that and I am just so grateful. And to all the potential donors out there, just know this is a great cause and you will not regret it at all. Thank you so much Actors & Others!!
❤️We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your financial support toward our kitten’s surgery. The total cost of this life-saving procedure was $3,800, and your generous contribution of $750 made a big difference for us.
As a family from Ukraine, we had to take out a loan to cover the full cost — which wasn’t easy — but your help truly eased the burden. Your care for animals warms our hearts. No matter the challenges people face, we believe it's our duty to stand by and help our beloved pets.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
Here are a few photos of our little one! ❤️
I am writing this to thank actors and others for the help they provided me in financial aid. To take care of my pups cherry eye surgery , and having her sprayed. With out their help I would not have been able to take care of this on my own. They are such a great organization for doing what they do to help. All of us. So for that i want to say thank you and god bless
We are so grateful to AOfA--- we rescued a deaf white-furred chihuahua, and then adopted a long-haired dachshund mix middle aged dog. Both needed teeth cleaning and both were (several years apart) approved for dental cleaning surgery thanks to the kindness and generosity of A&OfA allowing these dogs to have healthier lives. The deaf chihuahua was a therapy dog at my high school, bringing calm and peace to anxiety-ridden students especially during test weeks. The dachshund was active with foster-kid-programs at my local church, with senior citizen wellness checks in my neighborhood, and with AA meetings in Norco. CA as an valued pet to bring relaxation to visitors. Both dogs were beloved and well-cared-for and left many happy memories. They both passed after a good long life and made friends over the years which still enhance my own life. I now have a mixed Bichon-Frise senior dog that is already continuing the therapeutic services her predecessor dogs provided.
Hello,
I want to wrote a review to show my appreciation towards the people that help donate money to this agency. Although it is very hard to come across organizations that truly help donate money when you cannot pay for your pets urgent needs, I was more than happy and thankful that we were referred to this organization because through them we were referred to a private donor who actually did help us, of course they did not pay the whole bill, they asked of us to pay as much as we could and they would come up with the rest. Bless their sole whoever this person was. I hope she will find it in her heart to help more people in need with their precious pets.
To this wonderful and blessed organization, from the bottom of my heart thank you for your support towards my baby TJ. He was diagnosed with a UTI which caused him to develop stones in his bladder. The amazing staff at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic were nothing but amazing and did everything they could to help TJ. The contribution you guys gave helped me tremendously amd it’s something i will always cherish
Again, thank you and may god bless you always
Shout out to QH Vet you guys are a blessing
I am incredibly grateful to Actors and Others for Animals for their kindness and support. They provided financial assistance for my pet’s medical care at a time when I truly needed help. Their generosity made all the difference, and I can’t thank them enough.
A special shoutout to Michelle and Beverly, who were absolutely amazing to work with! They were compassionate, patient, and truly dedicated to helping both pets and their families. Their kindness made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
This organization does such important work, and I highly recommend supporting them. Their efforts change lives, and I am beyond thankful for everything they do!
Can’t say enough great things about this non profit, they saved Mochas life. I found her in horrific condition and she needed surgery immediately, so after applying to multiple high interest loans that led to nowhere, I was told about Actors & Others.. I put together what I could for her surgery but if not for this non profit she would have had to be put down. They worked with our Veterinarian to cover the balance for her surgery which was substantial. I’ve been a rescue for many years and never had this type of assistance before, it was truly a heartbreaking situation and if not for Actors & Others, there would have not been a happy ending. Mocha is alive and well, thank you ♥️
Me and my girlfriend were in a tight financial situation when two of our dogs got into a fight and our smallest dog (Bella) was injured and needed immediate medical attention. We reached out to Actors & Others for Animals and they were more than generous in our time of need. Bella is now home and has recuperated successfully. Thank you Actors & Others for Animals for making this possible!!!
My Cody was diagnosed with kidney failure, then anemia from the kidney issues. I had taken him to 3 different vets, paid all the money I had, and that was not enough. He needed sub-q fluids at home, blood work, special diet, supplements that cost $40 each a month EACH, and the list goes on.
I contacted Actors & Others For Animals for help with needed treatments. They were able to help with a donation that came at a critical time when money ran out. With their help, I was able to get him the care he needed.
I wish I could say it was a happy ending. My baby ended up passing Jan 2, 2025 despite our heroic efforts. But it would have been sooner, or his time left spent in pain if it weren't for Actors & Others for Animals.
For that I will be forever thankful.
I cannot express my deepest gratitude enough to Actors and Others for Animals for their kindness and generosity. They stepped in during one of the most difficult times in my life, providing crucial financial assistance that literally saved my dog's life. Without their help, my Bella would not be here today.
Their compassion for animals and their dedication to helping pet owners in need is truly incredible. They don’t just help animals—they save families from heartbreak. Because of them, Bella is happy, healthy, and still by my side.
To everyone at Actors and Others, thank you for the work you do every day to save not just my pet but so many others. You are true heroes, and the world is a better place because of your kindness!
If you’re considering supporting a charity that makes a real difference, I highly recommend Actors and Others for Animals. Their work is life-changing!
To say Actors & Animals exceeded expectations is an understatement. My Toby probably wouldn't be here without their financial help. And me, the emotional support I felt because someone jumped in to help me on this journey lifted me through it.
In 2022 I adopted a 8 yo Chihuahua Mix cause he had great eyes and cute ears. I'm a large dog person and never in my life did I think I would have a 9lb 4oz Chihuahua for crying-out-loud. After a few months we were totally bonded -- he was my buddy and I was his food provider. Match made in heaven.
Unknown to me he had bad teeth. Swollen cheek, decay breath and pain. I searched all over the Coachella Valley for affordable (for me) vet services and all estimates came back in the $1900 to $2,000 range. I didn't want his surgery for free but I could only afford $700. I thought I was going to lose my friend.
Started searching for vets outside of Coachella Valley who advertised as affordable vet services and it was disappointing. Then my daughter who is a volunteer with SPCA in Marin County sent me a list of foundations. That's when I, on a Saturday evening, I started the search of foundations and non-profits who could help. Actors & Other Animals had a questionnaire on their website and responded on Monday or within two days!
Not only did they say they would pay the balance of a potential $2,000 vet bill, they gave me the name of a vet in Indio and I was able to get Toby in within the week. This guy is a true "country" vet, not a flashy office but his clientele was out the door. Dr. Brown, he started as a horse vet cause this area is big polo and dressage country.
Anyway, got the antibiotics Toby needed until he could be scheduled for surgery. It's been about a year now and Toby's still barking and protecting home and me. The dog park is fun, especially when he runs along with his Dachshund friend.
Toby wouldn't be here without Actors & Others for Animals. And the woman I talked with (Bev) I think was really good and knew what was needed and what I needed. Yes, his surgery and after care did cost more than the $700 I could afford. I will never forget Actors & Others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sugar, my 4 year old toy poodle, is normally a happy energetic skipping dog, yes she skips! She is fiercely loyal and despite her small size she is a protector (she tries to be anyway!) While suffering from addiction and going in and out of rehabs, Sugar was routinely left with others who did not feed her appropriately. When I got clean I noticed Sugar struggling to urinate and when she could go there would be dark blood mixed in. Even though she must have been in tremendous pain for months Sugar endured and try to remain herself as much as possible. Being fresh out of rehab and unemployment I only had enough to get Sugar a check up where they discovered three golf ball sized stones in her bladder and she had severe UTI; surgery was needed immediately and I had absolutely no money and no where to go to get help-I feared for the worst! I was notified by a vet to try Actors & others for Animals and I was able to get funding immediately to contribute towards the surgery . Without this help I would not have been able to afford the surgery and relieve Sugar of her pain. I am beyond grateful for this program and will definitely give back once I am able to. Sugar is back to her normal self and happy thanks to Actors & others for Animals.
We have always been able to provide all needed vet services for our pets. However, with the increase cost for most products, we found ourselves financially strapped to provide x-rays for our rottie that was limping.
We contacted Actors & Others for financial assistance, and they generously provided the funds need for the x-rays. With the x-rays taken and reviewed, we are now able to provide the tools to address our dog's issues.
Thank you to Actors & Others
I can’t thank the team at AOA enough; specifically Beverly. In the same week, my 3-year-old cat had a urinary blockage AND was diagnosed with asthma. Considering I was laid off from a job just a few months ago and we are in the holiday season, I was in a really difficult spot. AOA stepped in to help with the medical bills and ensure that my boy’s health came before anything else. He was able to get the treatment and medication he needed, and now he’s good as new! Thank you so much again to the team for your help and to Beverly for calming me down MULTIPLE times over the phone. You really are life-savers to those on hard times.
I would like to thank everyone who helped me and Souffle, you guys are like angels who reached out to help me when I was at my wit's end.. I almost had to amputate Souffle's leg because I couldn't afford the medical expenses.. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. Now Souffle be able to walk , play and eat.
Truly Appreciate for your help.
Sky is our 3 year old indoor family cat. He is a very curious little guy who loves to sun bathe. He ran out when one of the kids left the door slightly open on accident. When he came back home, he was injured and not himself. It turns out he had a bad infection on his ear. We are not too sure what happened but when we got to the vet, we were told our bill would be outrageously high. Thankfully, the folks at Actors & Others For Animals were able to help. Our little guy was down for about a week but is back to his old, loving self. Thank you Actors & Others For Animals, because of you our baby is well and our family is complete!
The first photo is Sky on the way to the vet, second photo he's all better!
Beverly and the staff at Actors and Others and Animals were amazing to work with! So kind, helpful and compassionate.
I have an older cat named "Miles," who had gotten very skinny. I had blood work done for him but it came out negative. My doctor was still concerned and recommended having an ultrasound done. The cost of vet services has gotten very expensive over the past several years, so when Actors and Others stepped in on my behalf, to help facilitate the procedure, it was very much appreciated by myself and my buddy, "Miles."
I would like to thank this organization for giving my cat Blue Blue in extra life. He was in serious need of an operation because of his UTI. My family and I are happy and blessed that my Blue Blue recovered very well from his surgery and is now full of life without any pain. He is running up and down the whole house as when he was very ill, he had minimal mobility. I would like to thank the donors who made this happen for us. God bless!!
Hi, my name is Jason Valdovinos.
This is the second time Actors and Others has helped me and my pet (Mellow.) I was so shocked how they cared so much about my dog and her surgery. They helped us by cutting the surgery price in half! TWICE!
My dog is extremely happy and living life to her fullest potential! This could not have been done without the help of Beverly and Laura!
God bless everyone at Actors and Others!
I want to thank everyone at actors and others and to the people who donate to help people like me. I’ve had a very hard time making ends meet since my husband passed. I’m so happy I contacted A&O for help. My dog Lulu had major dental problems and I truly believe she would not be here today without your help. She’s eating better and no longer in pain. I will be celebrating her birthday on 11/29/24 and she’ll be 11 years old. I’m so grateful and thankful.
Sincerely,
Julia L
Bravo! Bravo! Actors and Others, blessed me with my lil Chihuahua, Babygirl, Beverly was my angel in disguise. You granted me monies for her to have dental work, major surgery.
I am very grateful for your blessing me and my fur buddy. Roxford Vet in Sylmar is thee best, Dr.Long is out for your best interest for your fur buddy. Thank you so much! And to all who made it possible.
You guys were able to safe my dog. If she didn’t have the surgery she wasn’t going to survive. I appreciate you guys so much! And my dog is back to her normal self: you guys made it possible for us! ❤️ Mely is a healthy dog once again!
I’m so thankful for Actors and Others, and I’m currently trying not to cry as I type this! Beverly reached out to me shortly after I submitted the application for financial help and I felt such a warm embrace in a time that felt so dark. My cat Odin needed a second surgery to fix the stitches he had ripped open because his cone was too small we found out and it was going to be half of the original cost of the first surgery. I had just totaled my car and had to move out in a month and a half and Beverly was so great helping me stay calm and positive. They were able to connect with my vet and get everything handled while I was able to emotionally be there for my cat during the limbo we were in between surgeries. What a great organization, I have nothing but praises to sing! Thank you again!!
Actors and others for animals was so helpful when I was in desperate need of help when my cat Tang had a urinary blockage. I am a low income, recent college grad who moved across the country last year. I hold two jobs to make ends meet and when Tang became sick I was extremely overwhelmed and stressed financially. I cant thank Actors and others for animals enough for their help.
I can not explain how great full I am for the help actors and others for animals. They lead me in the right Direction and to an amazing vet. My husband found a cat that was abandoned and we took her in then she has babys but she suffered a prolapse uterus and had 7 kittens . I was losing hope because I didn't have the money to help my cat so I prayed and I was recommended by a vet and the helped me with my kittens . I for ever great full for there help.
I am a retired senior on a fixed Social Security income. Several years ago I rescued Cindy, a Chihuahua mix dog, from a "kill shelter" where she had been on doggy death row, condemned with the label of being a "biter." It turns out that all she needed to change her ways was extra patience and gentleness in order to blossom into the sweet cuddle-bug she is today. I've uploaded her pre-adoption "prison photo," and another one of her in her happy new life against a background of jacaranda blossoms. She has led a fairy tale life ever since adoption, except for her terrible, bleeding, calcium-encrusted teeth. I could not afford the $700 to have her teeth properly cleaned (blood test, anesthetic, cleaning, antibiotics, etc.). But thanks to the Actors & Others charity who donated half of Cindy's teeth-cleaning costs, I could finally afford to take her for her needed teeth cleaning. The cleaning has helped reduce her bleeding gum disease and will add health and longevity to her sweet life, and mine! Thank you so very, very much to you all for your kindness and generosity in helping us out.
My 6 year old fur baby had a growing mass on his left paw that needed removal. I was financially struggling to cover the vet bill in full and I was recommended to reach out to Actors and Others for Animals for assistance. To be honest, I didn’t think they would help me as I had reached to other non profits and no one replied back. But boy was I wrong! There are still wonderful organizations like this one who truly care about our animals. I want to thank Beverly for reaching out to me within 24hrs of sending my application and following up all the way until my fur baby had his surgery scheduled. She was wonderful and so proactive along the way. I want to thank Actor’s and Others for Animals for truly being a blessing in the lives of pet parents in need. A thank you to the donors who help this financial aid be a possibility. Without their donations, I believe the approval process would be more lengthy and in a time of need time is of an essence. My fur baby is doing great and that growing mass is no longer there!
Our family dog was having complications needed testing done to find out why he was having seizures and thanks to actors and others. We were able to get our dog medication and bloodwork and testing done to save his life behalf of the Hall family. Thank you from the bottom of our heart and Charles Barkley, God bless you all
Let me start by saying Thank you so much to Actors and others for pets, for helping us save our baby girl Makenzie,
Makenzie had a mammary tumor that was making her so sick. I reached out for help from actor and others for pets, we were really tight financially . They sent a payment to our vet and day off surgery I was so surprised and grateful. It relieved a burden from our family. They were a blessing to us. Our Makenzie is doing good and Is happy as can be.
Oliver is a young, adorable and affectionate member of my family who suffered from a urethral blockage, a life-threatening condition that required immediate medical attention. Actors and Others for Animals not only financially helped support my beloved cat Oliver, they helped me make difficult medical decisions and recommended an affordable clinic that saved his life. Without this incredible nonprofit, my young, feisty, vibrant baby cat would, most likely, not be alive.
Oliver was admitted to the emergency vet, but his hospitalization, medications, and necessary surgery were already piling up and ended up costing over $17,000 and would have cost more if not for Actors and Other for Animals. As a pet mom, I wanted to provide everything I could for this important member of my family, and this nonprofit saved me from spending additional money and crippling me financially, and gave me a plan to save his life.
Oliver has brought so much joy, love, and comfort into my life. He loves to give kisses, is the biggest cuddle-bug and never fails to greet us when we come home. He is also an expert napper, loves to eat (everything) and is the best playtime hunter (impressive backflips). We did everything we could to save him alone, but Actors and Others for Animals rescued Oliver with a generous donation and with information that helped us make decisions about surgeries and clinics. And for that I am truly grateful.
Thank you guys so much for help paying my dogs vet bill!!! He had gotten a scratch and then it ruptured so he needed it removed. We were able to get him in very soon because actors and others stepped in to be there for our little Gizmo. He only has one eye now, but he’s the happiest dog! Lol You guys are the best ❤️
I am forever grateful to Actors and Others for their support and help in such times of need. My cat Lucille accidentally broke her tooth and required a tooth extraction. I know my Lucille was in pain because her tooth was bleeding and she had trouble eating. The doctor recommended several procedures that would’ve cost me so much money. Actors and Others stepped in to help me with some of the cost as I am already struggling financially. I can’t thank them enough. It was truly a blessing. My Lucille has recovered and is no longer in pain thanks to the support of Actors and Others. Your organization is truly a blessing!!
Sincerely Melissa F.
Actors & Others for Animals came through for my little girl "Mojo" when she really needed the help. I'm a senior on a fixed income and after she suffered many bouts of UTI's that weren't treated properly, we discovered some possible polyp growths in her bladder along with struvite crystals. We still aren't sure of the outcome, if she will need surgery or not, but in the meantime, she is being treated with antibiotics, and we changed her food to one for urinary health. Tomorrow we will do labs and urinalysis again to see if her troubles have been narrowed down or even eliminated. I couldn't have begun treatment without help from AOA. Thank you so much for your kind and generous help in getting us this far! XOX! Woof!!
This charity helped me at a time when I was unable to provide care for my dog. They provided me with a judgement free donation, which is what I needed. Beverly is the sweetest and helped me in more ways than just financially, she gave me sound advice for the situation I was in. I did end up keeping my dog, but Beverly provided me with resources if I decided not to once my puppy’s surgery was finished and she was fully recovered. If your dog is in need, and you have no other options this non-profit is amazing, and if you’re a donor, thank you so much for the help you provide to our cherished fur babies.
I will forever be grateful to Actors and Others for Animals for their help. One month after I rescued my cat Mylo, I found out he needed immediate medical attention as he suddenly lost mobility in his back legs. Everyone keep telling me that I was just going to have to put him to sleep, until I reached out to this wonderful group. I reached out to several organizations, but this one was the only one to respond. I'm so happy that they did. My cat was able to get all the medical attention he needed and is now healthy and happy thanks to your donations. Thank you, Ms. Beverly, for your kindness and your patients. You are truly one of a kind. Thank you from The Walker Family
This organization was great in helping me supplement payment for my dog’s treatment. Since they were inundated with requests for help, it took some time to get responses. Once we established what was needed they were swift in granting some assistance which came at the perfect time. I was extremely pleased with the outcome and have referred others to use their services.
This organization helped me and my dog get the help that we needed. Their kindness and support for my dog Bernie means the world to me. They are quick, efficient, and love what they do! Thank you for your services! Couldn’t have done it without you :)
I was terrified as my dog is a pug, and I rescued her a few years back, not expecting to lose our home and everything else. We ended up in the car and I always put her first however, I ran out of money and any funding this program worked so I was able to give them a call in less than a day was able to get her funding and seen treated for, some pretty bad UTI etc. I just wanna say thank you and please please if anybody has a heart continue to donate to these programs we were able to find a shelter for both of us. She’s currently in a foster home while I’m getting better in a hospital and without the help , we would never have been able to get her the medical assistance that she needed which is only fair because our pets are our children and they help the world go round. I just want to say thank you again. God bless everybody for donating and when I donate even if it is just a few bucks , thank you God bless
This charity is truly amazing. When my cat needed expensive surgery, and I was in a tough financial situation, they came through for us. I applied on a Monday and received a call the next day to discuss my situation and offer support. Beverly, who assisted me, was incredibly helpful and communicative throughout the process. Thanks to them, my cat received the care he needed, and I'm immensely grateful. As soon as I'm able, I'll be giving back to them by donating.
I am so grateful and thankful for financial assistance from this wonderful organization. My poor kitty was in so much pain with abscesses in his mouth. He was nasty and mean when I took him in. Turned out that he needed his teeth extracted. It’s very expensive and I didn’t know what I was going to do! Thankfully, the manager at the vet recommended this organization. Laura was so kind to almost immediately grant me with some funding for this treatment. I don’t know what I would have done without this. What a beautiful thing to do to help animals and their owners to help cover these things. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, A&OFA!!
I'm very grateful to have found. This organization. I had got some news that if I didn't do an emergency surgery in my dog she would unfortunately not make it. After looking around online and talking to another organization that worker helped me find a location where I wouldn't have to pay as much as vet was offering and actors & others for animals helped cover the bill which was great help. My dog is now doing good and she's healthy
They are an angel sent from above! I found this dog about to be hit by a car, I thought I saved him, but turns out he already had gotten hit. I took him to the vet to see if he was chipped and he wasn’t. I couldn’t just leave him at the shelter, and decided to keep him since he was such a good boy. This nonprofit organization helped me pay his bill that was over 1.5 K. They help me save his life and it has been such a wonderful experience. Seeing him heal and become the puppy he is.
Actors & Others for Animals was wonderful! I am on permanent disability and could not afford the required surgery for my young daughter’s cat. We raised him as a kitten and she grew up with him. It meant the world to her that we were able to keep from putting him down. Thank you so much for the financial assistance. Without you, we would be down a family member.
I'm truly grateful for Actors & Others For Animals for assisting me in helping save the life of my pet Tiger by providing monetary aid to help cover the costs of the surgery that my pet needed. Beverly is an amazing person! She helped me with the process. She is very caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. This organization is truly a blessing to have in the community.
He had an immune disorder that attacked his teeth. The poor little guy could hardly eat or clean his fur. He had mouth sores and inflamed gums. Several teeth needed to be extracted. He was in pain and desperately needed help. I am a single mother on a fixed income and was given an estimate of possibly $1900 to do the dental work. Actors & Others stepped in and found a more reasonable vet and they financially helped me, so I was able to help Tiger. He is eating, gaining weight, cleaning himself and even playing. My thanks to Actors & Others!!!
In a tough spot financially, working full-time to pay off student loans and manage everyday expenses, I felt helpless. That's when Beverly stepped in with incredible support. She not only provided me with valuable information but also recommended a more reliable vet. Moreover, she offered much-needed emotional support during this stressful time.
With Beverly's guidance, I took Tiger to the new vet, where he stayed in the hospital for two weeks. However, the financial burden remained significant. Thankfully, Actor's and Others generously contributed to Tiger's medical care. They became my saviors when I had no one else to turn to, and I will forever be grateful for their kindness and support. Thank you
My cat Meelow was suffering from crystals in his bladder, and the financial burden of his treatment was overwhelming. Your support not only alleviated the financial strain but also provided much-needed relief and peace of mind. Thanks to your kindness, Meelow received the necessary care and is now on the road to recovery.
Your willingness to extend a helping hand to a beloved pet speaks volumes about the compassion and generosity of your organization. Please know that your contribution has not only helped Meelow but has also touched our hearts deeply.
Once again, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. We are forever grateful for your contribution towards Meelow's health and well-being.
Actors & Others saved my Coco.
I believed that Coco was in heat, but she continued to bleed for 3 months and when I did take her to the vet, they said she had pyometra. That was scary to hear. So I booked her to get spayed. The day of her appointment, the price went up drastically . I was not able to afford her spay. I left crying and I contacted Actors and Others. I was beyond grateful when I heard back from them and they said they would help Coco. It turns out, Coco had a TUMOR in her uterus that was causing the bleeding… my Coco would’ve died. I am so so blessed and grateful that they helped me get Coco the surgery she needed.
Thank you so so much!!!
Here are some pictures of my happy girl now :)
I cannot express enough gratitude to "Actors & Others for Animals" for their extraordinary support during a challenging time for my beloved furry friend. My emotional support animal, a Pitbull/Bulldog mix named Millie, recently needed surgery to repair her ACL, and the costs were overwhelming.
Not only did the organization generously contribute a quarter of the surgical expenses, but Beverly’s guidance and referral to an exceptional vet who suggested a far less invasive and cost-effective procedure—the bilateral suture over the recommended TPLO surgery—was a game-changer.
Their dedication to helping animals in need extends beyond financial assistance; they actively seek out the best care options and connect pet owners with compassionate and knowledgeable professionals. Thanks to their support and guidance, Millie received the necessary treatment without burdening me financially or compromising her well-being.
"Actors & Others for Animals” is more than an organization; they are a lifeline for pet owners facing challenging situations. I am forever indebted to their kindness, expertise, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of our beloved animal companions, and for Beverly, to whom I am eternally gratefully for all her hard work, her endless devotion and her extensive knowledge and experience with the specific surgery Millie received.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Morgan Handly
My 11 yr old rescue dog, Hope, a Pit Bull mix, has been through alot. If we hadn't adopted her, she would have been euthanized the next day. We did not know that at the time, we just fell in love with her. She's a wonderful, sweet, loving girl. She got me through my cancer treatment and knew how I felt and what I needed. She has many allergies and we have to feed her accordingly. After I beat cancer, Hope was diagnosed with mast cell tumor. Thankfully it was curative with surgery. She had one more awhile later. And we were both doing great, then she ruptured her ACL, and had to have a very expensive TPLO surgery. I'm still paying for that, and have always been able to pay for her medical issues, but she grew another tumor on her lip. It was growing pretty fast. This time things were very difficult financially. We couldn't afford the surgery. She was otherwise happy and healthy. I applied for help through Actors and others. I really didn't even expect to hear back. They helped with a big chunk of what I needed for the surgery! Hope and I, and my family will be forever grateful! I sincerely thank people who donate to Actors and others and are able to help like they did! So when someone is in need, they can help. Hope is happy and healthy again
I really can't thank Actors and others enough!!
Actors & Others For Animals Thank You for your donation towards my cats surgery. Your kindness and willingness to work with my veterinarian to make this happen is so appreciated!
I am so glad that I found this organization. My cat, Smokey, was unable to urinate properly. I was told that if he didn't have a procedure in order to correct this, then, there was a chance that we had to put him down. I was freaking out if I had to do that to my cat (he is barely one-year-old). Lucky, Actors and Others helped me pay for the procedure. I am forever grateful for their help. Thank you, you guys!
I'm truly grateful for Actors & Others For Animals for assisting me in helping save the life of my pet Chloe by providing monetary aid to help cover the costs of the surgery that my pet needed. Beverly is an amazing person! She helped me with the process. She is very caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. This organization is truly a blessing to have in the community.
while feeding one of the strays that come around 2 or 3 times a month, i noticed a Siamese cat and i thought my baby girl got out but then I realized this cat is to thin to be my baby. i put more food out to let her eat and she scarfed it down so fast. the next morning, she was back, this went on for a week and a half, then i just picked her up took her into the garage to keep her away from my other 2 cats. and i found someone to adopt her so i took her into the vet to get tested for feline aids and leukemia. she was negative but she had a limp, so i had them Xray her, bad news the left back leg was shattered. long story short I now have a 3-legged kitten meet little Hops. thank you so much for the help you have given, we both appreciate it so much.
I had the most wonderful experience with Actors & Others For Animals. My 5-year-old fur baby, Kylie, had an infected tooth that needed an extraction. I was unemployed, funds were very tight, and I was having a difficult time being able to afford the surgery. Needless to say it was a stressful time for me and a bit of a painful time for Kylie. Actors & Others graciously offered to cover $350 for the surgery and because of their generosity, I was able to get Kylie in and on the road to recovery. She's no longer in pain and back to her normal, playful, silly self, and I can't thank the organization enough for their help.

I am so incredibly thankful for actors and others for their help during a stressful time for me financially. My cat has been struggling with obsessively scratching and breaking open her skin and this wonderful organization helped cover the costs for my cat allergy testing and I could not be more grateful that my sweet Kylie got the help she needed.
Thank you to everyone at Actors and Others, especially Laura. They helped me when my 5 year old calico Suki came down with a serious respiratory infection that took 6 weeks of recovery. The first round of medicine didn't work and she required another vet visit and a second round of medication. I'm a cancer survivor (yes! I had to finish cancer treatment during COVID-19) and couldn't afford the medication. They saved my cats life, there aren't enough words to express my sincere thanks to this organization.
My cat, Bo, got a urinary blockage for the first time, and our bills ran very high! We initially paid 3 grand to have him hospitalized on a holiday weekend, but eventually we were told to transfer him to a 24 hour hospital for 3 nights, and we were quoted about 5 grand for that. Fortunately, our main clinic offered to hospitalize him for 3 nights for the very low cost of 1k. We were still struggling with the bill, and we knew that there might still be future complications after this stay (and we were right), so I applied to various financial assistance programs, including Actors and Others. Our Clinic called us back that same day to let us know that Actors and Others had pledged to pay about half the bill. We were so grateful! Eventually, Bo blocked again and he got the PU surgery, but without the initial help of Actors and Others, along with many other resources, we wouldn't have been able to save our fur baby. Thank you so much to Actors and Others for Animals, you guys are literally the best!
Hank was in desperate need of care, and Actors & Others for Animals provided us with a generous contribution the next day. The process for submitting was simple, which was important because I was under a lot of stress. Once they accepted our application, they took care of making the payment directly with the vets office so I didn’t have to worry about it. I am disabled, and their help eased a significant burden on me. It has also allowed Hank to live his fullest, happiest life. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for helping me get Dexter neutered and his dental done. I spoke to you, Beverly, about me finding him the beginning of July. His mouth wouldn't close completely and I thought it was because of severe dental disease. When he went in for his procedures on July 31st, Dr. Rodriguez found that he had suffered a traumatic injury to his front teeth and jaw. He has 4 front teeth that are broken and others were missing. He was unable to remove the damaged teeth because of the jaw injury, but was able to deep clean his horribly swollen gums and teeth, so that he is able to chew and eat much better now. His front teeth have to be watched for pain, but as of today he seems to be doing so much better and is so much happier. I'm sending you some before photos of his mouth and teeth and some after photos of his cuteness in his surgery recovery onesie.
Thank you Actors and Other
For Animals for helping him and me!
Tonya & Dexter
Actors for others is so generous and helpful. They were really there for my Chula. Please donate and help them help others like me. Thank you From The Cordero Family
Absolutely fantastic. When I first called and talked about my dogs injury and recommended surgery I was directed to some healing alternatives (because I was hesitant about surgery). I was given so many great resources and information to research. After trying those approaches for months it was determined that surgery was still going to be needed for my dog to maintain his active lifestyle. Newly single mom without any options Actors and Others made it all possible. I am forever grateful and look forward to the day that I am in a position to give back and pay it forward.
Actors & others for animals nonprofit organization is one of the most caring organizations that are there for you & ur 4 legged family member when u r in need of help. They respond quickly!
I give them 5 stars
My son and I is so grateful for helping save our bearded dragon life. We were at a lost if we didn’t receive help from this amazing non-profit. Thank you Ms. Beverly and everyone that gave from their heart. Again, we thank you for your donation.
With the help of Actor's and Others, I found a lifeline when I had nowhere else to turn. My cat, Scooter, suffered a complete urinary blockage. Unfortunately, during the catheter insertion, the vet punctured his intestines, and wanted to charge an additional $5,000 for their mistake.
In a tough spot financially, working full-time to pay off student loans and manage everyday expenses, I felt helpless. That's when Beverly stepped in with incredible support. She not only provided me with valuable information on urinary blockages but also recommended a more reliable vet. Moreover, she offered much-needed emotional support during this stressful time.
With Beverly's guidance, I took Scooter to the new vet, where he stayed in the hospital for two weeks. However, the financial burden remained significant. Thankfully, Actor's and Others generously contributed $1,000 towards Scooter's medical care. They became my saviors when I had no one else to turn to, and I will forever be grateful for their kindness and support.
Hi. My name is Pamela. I'm the mother of 2 furry children, both are girls.
Not long ago my oldest baby TIFFANY became I'll. She had an infection and a fever. The poor kitty was suffering from asperation pneumonia.
THANK GOD for the people from Actors and Others!!!! I'm disabled and I live on a fixed income. I also suffer from bipolar depression. My pets are my support and my family.
My kitty TIFFANY stayed in the hospital for 7 days and Actors and Others SAVED MY PETS LIFE!!!! I love people that love God's creatures. GOD BLESS ACTORS AND OTHERS
And a Special Thank You to Beverly
Raggedy Andy is 5 years old and normally has a lot of energy. He seemed to be having less energy and I was told that he needed a couple of teeth extracted. I took him to a good vet and they pulled 15 teeth and treated him for infected gums. The bill made me gasp, but the vet's office suggested I contact Actors & Others for help in paying it. The vet also told me how to take care of his teeth to keep him from getting into this condition again and my Andy has his health and energy back. Thank you, Actors & Others For Animals, for your generous help.
I truly appreciate everything that actors and others did for my fur-baby boy Milo. My poor baby ended up with a gnarly urinary blockage which almost cost him his life. He ended up in the hospital for a week having to catheterized twice. And finally at the time of discharge his bill was $2,229. And actors and others paid the remaining balance of his bill as long I I took him in the following week to be neutered. My son is now happy and healthy and living his best life. I am forever grateful to them for all of the help they blessed me with.
I adopted my female (4yo) English Bulldog back in March of this year. It was an out-of-the-blue choice, the breeder who was breeding her no longer "had room for her" and was giving her away for free. I knew any other person would have kept breeding her so I immediately got my sweet girl. I wanted to spay her because I know there are consequences if she didn't go through with the surgery, so Ontario Spay and Neuter directed me to Actors and Others For Animals. I filled out the application and explained my situation to them that I was a college student that I would be moving out of state soon to continue my education and I picked up a huge responsibility when I'm just not financially stable as I want to be being a student. Especially because my dog also needed to get 2 mammory masses removed so the price of the procedure was way more than I anticipated. So! Actors and other were able to grant me with aid that covered half of the vet bill which I am so so so thankful for. I really appreciate them being so responsive to me and they helped me in ways that I will forever be grateful for.
Thank you so much Actors & Others For Animals!
You have helped me and my family so much by saving my fur baby Rawri that had two cyst on the side of his neck and needed surgery to remove the cyst. His medical bills were pretty high and with us just moving into our new home and starting a new job money was tight. I was so worried and stressed because how Rawri's medical bills will be covered? I was referred to Actors & Others For Animals that can possibly help me with he cost of his medical bill's. Beverly was so helpful and kind with helping us with Rawri's medical bills if it wasn't for her I don't know what we would have done. Thank you so much Actors & Others For Animals for saving my fur baby's life! please continue saving lives we appreciate y7ou so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They were so amazingly helpful and sweet. My baby had awful dental issues and had to have a mass removed.
They assisted not only with monetary means but also as a guide on what was not needed in the estimate that the veterinarians office gave.
They really helped and I HIGHLY recommend this organization.
I will be forever grateful to Actors and Others for Animals for their support. One week after I rescued Oliver I found out he needed immediate medical attention to include dental surgery. My sweet boy was able to get all the medical attention he needed and is now healthy and happy thanks to your donations.
I reached out to actors and others for some assistance with our dogs surgery my dog Dotty had a tumor that needed to be removed we are so grateful for their assistance in saving our dogs health
Thank you so much Actors and others for animals for helping me as last minute I realized my three year old Labrador needed Acl surgery. As I didn’t have all the funds to pay I contacted you. You called me back and after all needed to be sent back to you I was approved ;) Great organization and people working there are very professional.
God bless you!
Thanks again!
Sarah
I’m so thankful for Actors and Others. They helped me with a large mass removal as well as getting my pup spayed. I would not have been able to have the work done otherwise. One of the best organizations out there helping our fur babies!
Actors and Others for Animals helped us in such a great way! We have two small dogs, who we had found out had bad teeth from their past life. Actors and Others for Animals not only helped us pay for one dogs dental work but both of them! Thanks to them our dogs have been feeling much better, healthier and happier!
Im vary grateful to actors and others for the help and kindness they gave me with my sweet cowboy my cat was in so much pain and needed help. And i could not afford the vet bills on my own. They did not hesitate to help me and cowboy. Thank you so much for all you due to help animals and their families
Babette & Cowboy
Actors & Others for Animals helped us with a community cat that had a broken tail. She was living next to a freeway offramp in an unsafe environment.
When we took her to get spayed the vet said the tail needed to be removed.
This was an unexpected expense but this little girl kitty was a sweetheart and we wanted to help her. Actors & Others for Animals helped us financially for both the spay and tail removal. We are so grateful to the wonderful people who work and to those who support this nonprofit organization. They truly help those of us who are out there trying to make a difference.
Beverly and Actors and Other is amazing, my cat was not eating, lethargic and not moving around much. I tried to go to another ER vet and they wanted so much money for blood panel and x-rays. I could not afford it, I filled out the form on the website and Beverly called me almost instantly. She suggested a vet in Sylmar and we took Zippy there. The doctor was also great and smart and I hope Zippy pulls thru. The initial thought was kidney failure but her blood work just came back with elevated white blood cells, so I am hoping it's just an infection. Zippy got an antibiotic and I hope she pulls thru this. I could not have gotten my cat the care she needed without Beverly and AOA's help. I am so glad I didn't just end up putting her down over (hopefully) just an infection. Thank you Beverly for your kindness!
Update: Zippy had to cross over the rainbow bridge, I borrowed a credit card from a friend to pay for her to be put to sleep. I called Beverly w/ Actors and Others to inform her I had to put her to sleep, and see if I could request any more help. A few hours later the vet called to say the credit card I used was being refunded, that Beverly with Actors and Others had covered the bill. This made a very hard and sad time just a little easier as I did not have to worry about paying my friend back. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING, there is still kindness in this world!
Actors and others as one of the best organizations I have ever been delighted to receive help from without them it would’ve made it detrimental to me to take care of my beloved pet I appreciate them more than I could ever say for their help I’m very blessed.I appreciate them and I’m very grateful thank you so so much❤️
Actors and others for animals have been amazing for our pets and my family! If you're not familiar with them, they've been around for close to 40 years that I know of. When their name was relayed to me I recalled them helping my mother out with our cat when I was in grade school. I'm so grateful for their service. They're so kind and helpful!
My peanut is a 4 year old cat that I love very much. Unfortunately about 3 months ago he was diagnosed with bladder stones. Although they weren’t a threat, he still required surgery to remove the stones before they got worst. And of course these type of surgeries are expensive and a last minute thing that I had to do for my peanut. I was struggling to complete his surgery.
But nothing was going to stop me from having him get surgery. I googled organizations that helps financially for this situation and this actors and others foundation was one of the first ones that appeared. I just want to say god bless this foundation ❤️ So thankful you guys were able to help towards peanut surgery. I know it’s not easy helping all these fur babies but I’m soo thankful I was one of them. I appreciate you guys from the bottom of my heart words can’t explain. When I called they didn’t even hesitate to help, they were kind and soo supportive and knew my struggle. They heard and felt how much I love my peanut and just the thought of losing him was really driving me crazy. So thankful there’s people like you guys out there helping fur babies and their moms like me. God bless you guys and peanut says thank you again lol ❤️❤️
My veterinary recommended a few different partners I could contact in regards to receiving financial help for my cat's dental work last year. When I called Actors and Others, they were prompt with my request and was able to commit to supporting my cat and letting my vet office know. My experience with this org was smooth and easy and glad to have received their help. Now my cat is able to eat again without experience and discomfort or pain. Thanks Actors and Others!
Actors & Others For Animals is a nonprofit organization that has been a true lifesaver for me and my furry companion. When my beloved dog needed eye surgery, I was devastated at the thought of not being able to afford the procedure. That's when I heard about Actors & Others For Animals and their commitment to helping pets and their owners in need.
I applied for a grant from the organization, and to my surprise and gratitude, they awarded me the funds to cover the cost of my dog's surgery. The team at Actors & Others For Animals was kind, compassionate, and understanding of my situation, and their generosity has been a true blessing.
Thanks to the surgery, my dog's eye has fully recovered and she is back to her happy and playful self. I am forever grateful to Actors & Others For Animals for their support and for helping to bring my furry friend back to health. Their dedication to animals and their owners is truly inspiring, and I am so thankful to be a recipient of their generosity.
I highly encourage everyone who is able to do so, to consider donating to Actors & Others For Animals. As a nonprofit organization, they rely on the generosity of individuals and corporations to help fund their important work. By supporting Actors & Others For Animals, you are not only helping pets and their owners in need, but you are also contributing to a more compassionate and caring community.
I have personally seen the life-changing impact that Actors & Others For Animals can have, and I believe that every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference. If you are able to give, I urge you to consider supporting this amazing organization and the vital work they do. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of animals and the people who love them.
I am so grateful to Actors & Others for their support. I rescued my cat Winston 2 years ago from Menifee Animal rescue. He had an immune disorder that attacked his teeth. Poor little guy could hardly eat or clean his fur. He had mouth sores and inflamed gums. Several teeth needed to be extracted. He was in pain and desperately needed help. I am a senior on a fixed income and was given an estimate of possibly $1900 to do the dental work. Actors & Others stepped in and found a vet who was more reasonable and they financially helped me so I was able to help Winston. He is eating, gaining weight, cleaning himself and even playing. My thanks to Actors & Others!!!
Actors and Others were amazing!! They helped to save my cat's life and I will be eternally grateful!!
My older dog desperately needed to have his teeth cleaned. I’m a senior on Social Security and was quoted at my local vet $1200 which I didn’t have. I was told about actors and others for animals and contacted them. Within 30 minutes I filled out an application and was called and approved if I went to a different vet and got another quote. Of course I was thrilled to get any assistance and went to one of the recommended vets who is fabulous and it cost $425. I paid a small part of that and actors and others for animals pay the remainder. I would never have been able to Accomplish this for my pup without their help. Thank you so very much
I am a disabled owner of a 4-year old Maltipoo named Titan. Titan suffers from episodes thought to be seizures and required blood testing to check his medicine levels. These tests are very expensive. Actors and Others was able to provide financial help to get the test results that were crucial and indicated ultimately proved that Titan was consuming too much phenobarbital and potassium bromide. I did not know that amazing organizations like Actors and Others existed. I’m so very grateful for their assistance, kindness and diligence. Titan probably would be suffering from liver damage without their help.
Thank you Actors & Others For Animals ❤️ Bella Girl is 5 years old. Bella has a heart murmur. She requires specific health attention. Our family includes six pups. The expense of food and regular vet appointments can add up. Let alone unforeseen vet runs. We thank Actors and Others for being able to assist us with financial aid for medical care. Our resources are limited and our family and I are thankful and grateful for Actors and Others.
My name is Oscar Marquez, and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much Actors and Others For Animals, and thank you for the hard work you are doing, he was in need of a bladder surgery and because of you my precious cat Aslan has a second chance, you helped me finding a fantastic Veterinarian and financially, my cat Aslan and I will never forget all this, he's a happy and healthy boy now, God Bless You.
Here’s the story about my cat Aslan, in July 2019 I heard a cat crying in the garden, I saw a female cat and her baby, I had cat food (I have 2 adopted cats, they are 7 years old now) so I put water and food, they were watching me from the distance and as soon as I left the area they came to eat, Aslan probably was just started to eat solid food he was probably around 3 month old, since that day I put fresh water and food, morning and night, unfortunately 2 weeks later Aslan mom wasn’t there anymore, I don’t know what happened to her, he was alone, I kept taking care of him, after a month he was so attached to me following me when I was outside and at night he was always watching through the window, sometimes crying so I have to go outside to pet him and that was every single night, I wasn’t planning to have a third cat inside, but in a cold and rainy night in November 2019 (he was already 7 month old) he was outside my window wet and cold watching inside, that broke my heart, so I went outside with a towel, hold him in my arms and promised him that I always going to be there for the rest of his life, he’s been an indoor cat for over 2 years now ( he’s 3 years now).
PS. Picture 1 is when he was outside (September 2019), Picture 2 is the first day inside (November 2019), and the other 2 are after his bladder surgery in March 2022.
I had got my precious cat spayed and she had a hemorrhage after, and I couldn't afford another surgery, so this place helped me save my baby girl thank you so much laura.
This charity is a God sent blessing !! They have helped me more than words could ever express!! I am so very grateful for this charity and all the voluteers that help make this possible. They helped me when I felt the world was ending, not only once but 3 times. They helped me pay a portion of my bill that I couldn't come up with, without them my baby would have grown larger tumors and could have died due to pyometra. My other babies they helped spay and I will be forever grateful for this blessing!! Thank you so very much for all the hard work you guys do !!!
I would like to thank you sooooo much to this organization for the financial help received with my dog Tango, we had all his blood tests done at Roxford Vet. clinic, was very helpful and gave me an idea of what kind of treatment he needed, at the present he is in this treatment from home and hoping he will recover step by step, also many thanks for referring me to Dr. Long who is a very fine vet. with all his patients and has guided me with so much patience to the care required for my old dog Tango.
I don't know how much longer I will have Tango with me (the best therapist I have ever had) and this extra time he is alive is thanks to your organization.
Again God Bless you for all help you give to families like mine who are at this moment in financial disadvantage.

I called because I was told by our vet that Miika had to have $5500.00 emergency surgery after $600.00 X-rays to repair Mika’s torn TPLO and that she would probably require her other leg operated on shortly after she recovered. I called after Actors and Others after spending many frantic hours researching the surgery. I was lucky enough to speak to Beverly and how my day changed after we spoke. Beverly was supportive, understanding and reassuring. We spoke for quite sometime, but in short she told me that quite possibly our vet was mistaken and many times surgery is not the only answer. Very long story short she directed me to a website and gave me information on how to treat our pup without the trauma of cutting her open. We followed her instructions completely and within 7 weeks Miika is running on the beach, playing and going on hikes all with No limp. We walked our pup for 6 weeks, no running and no jumping. We swam her, we massaged, heat therapy, etc. And Miika is back and happy as can be! Thank you Beverly and Actors and Others for being there for us when we needed it most.
Actors & Others for Animals is an amazing organization! Without their help we would not have been able to to give the life-saving surgery our dog needed. Our dog Rigbee had severe kidney stones we were not aware of. At 2 years old our vet stated it appeared to be a genetic issue. He needed surgery to survive. We were stranded with either putting him down or trying to find funds to pay for the surgery. Thankfully with this organizations help we were able to get enough to cover the fees. We are so grateful for their support and love for animals.
Thank you for all you do!

I'm so very grateful for the assistance I received from Actors and Others for Animals. While my 10 year old Yorkie/Pom has continued to have issues with his health, I was unsure how I'd be able to finance his last vet bill. It was nothing short of a blessing when I found Actors and Others, they were so prompt and helpful during a time when I felt so anxious about my dog. I can't thank them enough for their generosity
Dreams do come true. I was in desperation and I didn’t know what I was going to do when I learned that my 2 year old Yorkie was limping because of a patella issue. I had already spent $900 just to find out what her issue was. Then I got a invoice for $6,000 for her surgery and they said I’d eventually need to do the other knee as well.
That night I couldn’t sleep and luckily came across the Actor and more for Animals site. They immediately called me and gave me hope. They introduced me to a amazing doctor who charge half the original quoted price. Actors and Others for Animals assisted with a generous amount to reduce my fees and also neutered my dog. The doctors staff was so nice, and fast. Each visit was less than 10 minutes and they offered light therapy and the best medications for my dog. I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We love you. My dog is so much happier now too.
We have a sweet pit boxer, Chance. He's (like all our fur & feather babies) is a rescue. Unfortunately in the last couple years, he's 13 & a half now, he's had some health issues. We've had to remove a couple tumors & have a few teeth pulled. So, when he needed more dental work, we reached out to Actors & Others for assistance. They were great & shared the cost with us. We really appreciate them! They helped us & shared the cost in the past for our little Tiny Tiger, also. Here's a pic of them playing. Thank you donors for your help.

Around March my cat was attacked by a stray. There was severe damage to left and right legs. Pig my cat experienced severe symptoms of infection, upon taking him to the vet my family and I were encountered with a hefty medical bill. Upon doing research I came across Actors and Others for Animals, they covered the rest of the medical bill to help our family pet. It took a few weeks to make a full recovery but he is now thriving and living a wonderful life. My family and I will forever be grateful for how generous and compassionate they were with us. They are absolutely a blessing.
Back at the beginning of 2022 my cat Showers was facing a time in her life once again that was going to possibly be her end. Caring for animals is a labor of love and when you're being told they need surgery to survive a choice needs to get made. With the help from Actors & Others for Animals Showers has gotten that help to keep being healthy. When they found out what was wrong they also found information on things I could try. They genuinely wanted to see her at her best. Thank you. Her fur has soaked up so many of my tears. Even the ones I had on the phone when I was told I'd be able to get help from this organization. Those were happy tears though. Every call, email, and process for this made it feel like a relief. It was never added stress. I'm beyond thankful that my kitty still is here and enjoying her new found love of fetch with a piece of string.
Actors & Others For Animals is FANTASTIC! Little Mollie ruptured a disc and had to have emergency spinal surgery, then we started many weeks of rehab therapy for her to regain the strength to be able to use her legs, and then stand, and then re-learn how to walk.
We got about 2/3 the way in and with all the surgery and rehab costs, my personal funding just ran out. I couldn't complete her therapy without financial help, and Mollie was so close but not going to gain her strength to walk more independently on her own without the rehab therapy. Then Actors & Others for Animals stepped in and assisted with the rehab. It has made a huge difference in Mollie gaining independence to walk on her own around the house and newly just this week, she even walked up and down a small ramp on her own to access the sofa on the back porch. She clearly was so proud of herself!
I couldn't thank Actors & Others for Animals enough. They were wonderful to work with. And my little Mollie would not be where she is today without their help. THANK YOU -THANK YOU -THANK YOU!
A few years ago, our dog and my best little buddy got cancer and we had issues on being able to afford it. Actors & Others was the reason he was able to get surgery and live another few years happily. Unfortunately he passed in 2019 suddenly from unknown causes, but I am grateful for Actors & Others for letting my best little friend live more and letting me see his happy face and wagging tail every morning.
We can't thank Actors & Others enough for the assistance provided for surgery for our dog, Luke. Beverly was great to work with throughout the process. Luke needed TPLO surgery due a torn ligament in his left knee. We have just had the final xrays done and he has healed. His quality of life will be so much better now. He was a rescue that had been mistreated prior. Since adopting him, we are determined to give him the best life. This surgery was a huge financial burden. Thank you for helping us to heal him. Thanks again for what you do!
Hi
My name is Mike and my doggies name is buddy, that is my life,
he is a cocker/golden retriever mix and has been such a joy and a part of my life for 10yrs
and was a rescue dog.
Recently I found that he was in great need of some dental work and being retired and on a fix
income, I just could not afford it.
So my vet suggested to contact Actors and others, maybe they can help,
so I did, and after filling out a form, they came back and said that they could help,
and boy did they.
You are a blessing and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, Buddy thanks you
and his teeth thanks you.
God bless you
Michael Clark
PS I will be sending a picture of Buddy.
Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you my experience with Actors and Others. I had reached out for assistance for my Roscoe boy who had a sudden unexpected injury to his L-rear knee. After seeing the vet, I was informed he needed surgery. Their cost was so costly, so I did some research and reached out to another facility. Their cost was more reasonable, so then I asked for a list of organizations. I reached out to the wonderful Actors & Others and received a call saying to call back after I have the date of surgery. The information I save was lost on my phone, so I thought I would never hear from Actors & Others again. A big blessing came thru and I received a call from VSSOC saying I had received a donation from Actors & Others. I couldn't believe my ears. I just thank God for such a caring, passionate, and loving individual who has started this organization to assist so many who needed help. This was definitely unexpected but I am so grateful and thankful for the generosity of the Actors and Others for your kindness. Roscoe is doing great, he is still recouping and learning to walk on that leg again. He is definitely my go-to pup, always happy to do anything as long as he is with me.
What a wonderful organization. They really helped me out at my time of need.. My cat is doing so much better after being at the vet for 8 days. Please consider a donation to them if you can it really helps people out when they need the help with their precious pets.
My 17-year-old dog, Chester, needed to see a vet. He had been sick for awhile but had gotten worse. When I took him to the vet, I also took his companion, 12-year-old Katie. After his test, the vet said his kidneys were failing so we had to let him go. They allowed Katie to stay with us until it was over. Being so close to her, they noticed her mouth was infected and she had some bad teeth, so we made an appointment and took her back in to get that taken care of. I'm on SS and my own bills plus medical bills for Chester were hard to keep up with. Actors and Others of Animals payed for almost all of Katie's bill for her spaying, which also had to be done, and surgery to get her bad teeth taken care of. In the midst of a very difficult time for me, this wonderful group helped me with Katie's bill so I didn't have to wait until I had the money and she didn't have to suffer until I could get her taken care of . After losing Chester, I'm so thankful I have Katie and she is in good shape physically now. It has been rough not having Chester after 17 years of living with that little guy, but the kindness from this group lifted a big burden at a time when I really needed help. Just knowing they care for animals as well as their owners makes them very special. They understand pet-lovers! In the pictures, (1) Katie is on the left: (2) & (3) Chester is on the left.
I was really lost when the vet said surgery for our dog Stella was gonna be over $3300. Thankfully Actors & others For Animals was able to ease the pain with the cost of the surgery. So very thankful to them
Actors and Other’s are the best. They helped me tremendously with my German Shepherd Diamond. The surgery was in 2021. The tumor she had was cancerous but removed in time. She is healthy and happy. And so are we. Thank you ❤️
Actors & Others was a tremendous help with getting my German Shepherd the bladder stone surgery she desperately needed. My dog was losing a lot of blood daily and her red blood cell count was dropping so low that she was borderline anemic and some surgeons were hesitant to operate on her and I knew things would only get worse every day that passed that she didn't receive the surgery. I was having trouble securing funding for an operation that was about $5K and to make matters even worse, this was all right during the middle of the Christmas holidays.
In a hail mary attempt, I reached out to countless nonprofit organizations requesting assistance but most did not answer because of the holidays. Fortunately, Beverly of Actors did respond and she cared enough to respond to me in the middle of Christmas Eve! She was very helpful and empathetic and was willing to pledge their maximum amount they could in order to get my dog the help she needed. With Beverly's help, I was able to get my dog into surgery within a few days and remove all the stones and stop the bleeding.
I will be forever grateful to Beverly and the kind folks at Actors & Others for Animals for the amazing work they do to help people who are struggling to help save their pets' lives and give them a second chance at life. Thank you.
Im so grateful for the help i got from Actors Or Others.I wasnt able to pay the whole bill for my dogs surgery. With your help i was able to have it done and she will be with me longer now.Im so glad you were their for me ,i didnt know what i was gonna do.Ill always appreciate how you helped me.May god bless all of you for being angels to so many pets that need help
I was a new cat mama, and my kitten got sick, we were in the pandemic and I had been on unemployment. I reached out to Actors & Others for Animals and they were able to help split the cost of my Vet bill. I was so grateful for the support. What a special non-profit. I am now the most grateful cat mom of 2 cats, who are happy and healthy.
My Molly (cat) was not doing well. She seemed to not have a lot energy and was urinating often. Currently I'm working and I really needed help for Molly. A friend told me about Actors and others. I filled out an application online. I heard from in about an hour. They helped me pay for her medical bill. She ended up having an infection and was given antibiotics. She doing good now. Thank you Actors and others for helping me and Molly. I cried when I found out they were going to. help me.
I’m so grateful for this organization; let me explain our journey. Eve and I were reunited after a hiatus. Upon reunification, I noticed what I thought was a torn nipple, was in fact an external tumor. Stuck and unsure of how to proceed; I was referred to Actors and others by a good friend. Upon applying, we described my hardships and describing how much I need Eve in my life and with some thought; We were approved for some financial assistance with the surgical procedure. We definitely are so grateful this is around to help. Eve is healed and so happy to be back home. Much love and gratitude. The Garcia’s (Eve and Juan)
We can't thank them enough, esp since we're both disabled with limited funds. What a wonderful org, which has helped us 2X over the yrs, & both times went very smooth. Around '08, we rescued a dog in need of amputation, & they recommended a vet & generously split the cost.
The really amazing experience was Oct 2021, when our 10 mo old kitten needed a spleenectomy. We'd rescued her Dec 2020 & she had pneumonia. A few mos after she recovered & was spayed, she inexplicably almost died from kidney failure & a high fever. She began having trouble walking, eating, staying balanced & she'd stare at us, & then her eyes would roll back into her head. We thought she had brain damage from getting overheated & didn't know what to do. Ultrasounds showed a lemon-sized growth on her spleen. No one knew what or why, or her prognosis, but she was young. It took us about 2 mos to prepare (submit our application, coordinate & scrape together the add'l funds), during which time she slowly declined.
Finally, she had the spleenectomy, & it was a huge hematoma. Chunks had broken off & attached to her pancreas, liver & kidneys, & the chunks began growing on the other organs, too. They removed all growths & spleen, & sent for biopsies. She was cut open from neck to groin & sent home with the collar & a week of pain meds. However, the very next day she began jumping around, just like when she was a kitten. She was so happy & felt so good, we had to restrain her, just to heal. She's back to normal, without brain damage. The results came back, no cancer, all tissue was from the hematoma, & her blood was likely poisoned, because the spleen cleanses the blood, & it's probably why she felt so bad. Now, we'd never know anything had ever happened.
We're going to forever be grateful for their generosity & the simplicity & ease of the process, esp during a very stressful time. Beverly was wonderful & my vet promptly rec'd the funds. Thank you so very much!!!
My dog Jennifer needed immediate surgery to remove what X-Rays revealed to be almost a dozen hair ties that she had digested. She needed surgery and I need financial support to make this happen. I thank God for blessing a nurse at VCA to refer me to Actors and Others for Animals. This was truly a blessing. To have someone lift some of the worry and weight off your shoulders and to say, "We'd love to help." I can't express my gratitude enough. Currently my Jennifer is happy and back to herself, running around filling my life with joy!
When I found out my Sweet JazzPurrr needed medical treatment
I could barely breathe! I had no clue as to how I would afford almost $1,000.00 !
I called as many places as I could find, Beverly from Actors and others for animals called me back the same day! And...she was so very patient and kind.
She has no idea how she saved me that day!
We discussed JazzPurrs situation and she gave me so much helpful information.
When I was told that Actor and others for animals could help me pay for a portion of the bill, I cried happy tears!
I am forever grateful for the assistance, I will definitely donate what I can, when I can to help this organization!
I have them signed up on my Amazonsmile acct.
Check it out!
Whenever I order groceries on Amazonsmile, Actors and others for animals gets $ too!
I took my 11 year old Chihuahua to a vet in Apple Valley CA for a mass she had on one nipple. And the vet gave me an estimate of $1600+. The desk clerk suggested I look for an organization to help out. I went to a local facebook group and ask for help and I got a few suggestions for Actors & Others. So I applied through their website and Beverly called me within a day and told me they don't work with the vet I went to but suggested I drive down to Fontana and check out Dr Rex which she guaranteed would be MUCH cheaper. So I called and made an appointment and went and the estimate was $495!!!! Beverly said they could pay $250 and I paid $250. And Pumpkin is doing much better now. She had the mass removed, spayed, and dental work done.
I am so grateful to actor and others! They saved my 2 year old kitty, Leo's life! I am a student and could not afford the vet bill when Leo ate part of a sock that caused a complete bowel obstruction. I knew I couldn't afford a vet so I tried to let him pass the sock naturally, I waited for days, but he stopped eating and drinking, started vomiting blood, stopped moving and just sat huddled in a corner, clearly in agony, I took him to the vet and was told that we would need a $3000 surgery to save his life! I was desperate, and that's when I found Actors & Others for Animals, they got back to me right away and with their help I was able to get Leo into surgery that weekend! He made a complete recovery and is back to his wonderful old mischievous self! I have eliminated all socks from his reach and snuggle and play with him every single day, so grateful to still have him in my life!
Actors and others helped me with my pets hospital bills, I emailed them and they contacted me soon after and they were really there for me when I needed it. I really appreciate that this type of foundation exists and actually gets back to you fast. They really care.
these guys really love animals. and helped me out tremendously with my dog's third surgery this year. thank you!
Thank goodness for Actors and Others. When given there number to call I was amazed at the help fullness and care from Beverly. There online form was easy to do. They genuinely cared about my Baby Girl as she has health issues with enlarged heart and cloudy lungs, and no vet would spayed her for fear of not coming out of the anesthia. A friend directed me to Dr. Naito in Huntington Beach who referred me to Actors and Others about my financial situation. Dr. Naito was confident they could spayed her by gassing her down.
Well long story short Actor & Others Pledged a portion of the cost which I am truly grateful. And my Baby survived the procedure. I can't say enough how happy I am as everything has worked out. Thank you so much
I want to take a moment share my gratitude for Actors and Others for Animals. I was in a very precarious place financially and had a big operation scheduled for my dog. They stepped in and literally saved me. They set my mind at ease my dog is back on all four paws. I can't thank Actors and Others for Animals enough for their generosity and for their care. They followed up with me and with my vet to make sure everything went well. They are a wonderful organization

I don't think I have to state the obvious which ultimately boils down to how much we love our pets! I’m a dog guy, specifically Boxers. I’m so taken by my dogs and the breed that I’ve spent just about every weekend for the past several years volunteering for Boxer Rescue LA. The joy my dogs bring me on a daily basis is endless!
Long story short, times are tough and one of my Boxers Cleo developed a few growths on her gum and tongue. My vet at Panorama Pet Hospital is a trusted ally and pointed me to Actors & Others For Animals for some help with this procedure.
Actors & Others For Animals was responsive, respectful and kind. I am blown away by the involvement they put forth on my behalf.
I have a healthy dog again with the help of Actors & Others For Animals. I am forever grateful for their kindness, generosity and care.
Respectfully,
Vince DonVito (& Cleo & Max)
I called numerous non-profits, but most were not friendly to pets other than dogs & cats. Fortunately Actors & Others for Animals is one of those places that doesn't discriminate :). Actors & Others for Animals really helped us provide the surgery our bunny needed. Please consider donating. We certainly will once we are financially stable again.
I don't even want to think what would have happened to my kitty Cassian if it weren't for Actors & Other Animals. Words can not express how thankful I am for everything this charity did for him. Cassian suddenly got urinary blockage late at night, meowing in pain, I rushed him to the emergency clinic and was charged a very large fee for his overnight stay. I had to agree to it to save his life, but that left me with no savings and funds for further treatment that he needed to recover. A friend recommended Actors & Others For Animals, I applied first thing in the morning and Beverly got back to me right away. She was attentive, focused and very supportive, she recommended a great vet to transfer Cassian to and they took such good care of him. I was in touch with Beverly about Cassian, she gave me lots of useful advice and tips, and Cassian's bill was covered. I got his medicated food and he is doing really well now. Thank you all so much for helping my furbaby, for being so amazing, for everything you do to help our little animal buddies!
I am beyond grateful for the services provided by Actors and Others! Toby is our 9-year-old Husky/German Shepherd Mix who required entropion surgery. The surgical steps for this procedure called for the removal of extra skin on his bottom eyelids. Since his eyelids were rolling inwards, it would cause Toby extreme eye irritation. Unfortunately, this surgery was costly. It was discouraging and stressful having to think we would not be able to afford this procedure that our fur baby desperately needed. Fortunately, our vet recommended Actors and Others and thankfully was able to apply. I was contacted shortly after by Beverly and was given the best news at the time: we would be receiving help! Actors and Others helped cover part of Toby's surgery which brought so much relief knowing that Toby would be receiving the surgery he needed. Thanks to Actors and Others, Toby is no longer suffering from eye irritations. He has fully recovered and is very happy. I can't thank Actors and Others enough for helping me through this tough time and for continuing to support many pet owners in need! You are all amazing! Thank you for all that you do! So happy I found this organization!
I wanted to thank Actors and Other for Animals for helping my kitty cat by providing a donation to cover a part of my baby Snow’s c-section. It was an extremely tough pregnancy my mama cat had and although she lost three of her babies that were breach. One of her babies of the four survived and is thriving. I would have never been able to help my lovely Snow or her miracle baby Omi if it weren’t for all the support, care, love, and guidance from this amazing and wonderful non-profit. These are places we need to continue giving our support to like they gave my mama cat, her baby, and myself through that beyond stressful, and difficult time.
These folks are phenomenal! We were in dire straits as our little buddy was in desperate need of major dental work, his current condition making his seriously ill. We could not afford it, being seniors on a fixed income, barely getting by. We had just said a heartbreaking Goodbye to our 20 yr. old Chihuahua and to lose our only other companion would have been heartbreaking. Fortunately, our regular vet recommended Actors and Others to see if they could help. Did they! Beverly was fantastic, compassionate and went the extra mile to save our little 14 yr. old Bolococo (a sweet, lovable Dachshund) We can't thank them enough. If anyone is looking to donate to a worthy cause, stop where you are. This is the place to help those who can't help themselves (both humans and their companions, whatever they be.) Please. This is the best place you could share with - ever!
Amazing!!! Our girl Cleo injured her CCL. After 2 vet opinions, she definitely needed surgery. Something we were not prepared for at all. My vet referred me to Actors and Others for Animals. So I filled out the application online and within 24 hours I got a call. I was able to speak with Beverly who was so supportive and caring. She was able to pledge most of what we needed to get this surgery done. Then she referred me to another organization who pledged the balance. The whole process was reassuring and easy. Cleo got her surgery. Without them Cleo would still be in pain and limping around. Because of them Cleo is on her way to being completely healed. I can't thank you enough for the guidance, support and care you put into this whole stressful process. You guys are amazing.
Actors and Others helped me with my vet's bill for my pet "Mickey" to cover his x-rays. I had heard from Actors and Others and I apply online in less than 24 hours Beverly called me she was so helpful. If it weren't for Actors and Others I might not have been able to afford the diagnosis of Mickey. He needs FHO Surgery. Im still waiting for his surgery, but at least we can treat him with pain medication until I can afford his surgery that cost 2,700. Thank you Actors and Others and staff for all you do and for helping us take care of our Pets ❤
I am so immensely grateful with Actors and Others. My dog Leo needed an ACL surgery and due to Covid, I was going through financial hardship. Unable to cover the cost, I felt so helpless and hopeless. I was referred to Actors and Others and without any hesitation, they were willing to help me. It was such a relief and a blessing to find such a giving and caring organization. Thanks to them, my pet Leo had his surgery and has recovered well. He is now healthy, running around pain-free and wagging his tail. It’s alleviating to know that there are people in this world that still care and have such giving hearts. Thank you Actors and Others for all that you do.
Hi my beautiful little baby minpin Stinka was attacked by a Coyote, it was 2:00am in the morning so not that many hospitals are open. I had to take her to emergency Vet care immediately, so the bill for care was very expensive and I couldn't afford it being on a limited income. I was desperate, I love My Dog Stinka, she is my best friend. Actors & Otherd for Animals helped save my dogs life. If she didn't get the vet treatment and surgery she would had died... I'm so happy I still have Stinka in my life.... Thank You....

Bear and I thank you so much for your help and support with his lipoma removal surgery. Dr. Rex and his team took wonderful care of Bear. He looks like a happy healthy dog again. We can never thank you enough!
I am very grateful for Actors and Others. They helped me with my vet bill. My little kitten Sakura was sick from chronic bronchitis and I am on social security and needed help getting her treated. Thankfully they were able to help me and Sakura is now well. I will be forever thankful for their help and may God bless Actors and Others. I hope that I could one day somehow return the favor to them.
For so many lower income disabled and seniors, pets can be critical to good physical and emotional help. This group helps real people who love their pets, and they put their resources straight to work. I’d like to encourage a donation, small or large, because it makes a huge difference. My neighbors and I have seen the quiet power of their help.
Hi everyone !
Actors And Others have been world of help over the year . Laura, Beverly and Sybil are all wonderful and helpful, if not financially with knowledge . The Reasons for speed and neutering your pets beside the over population problem to avoid cancers and infections etc. are of great help if for no other reason to convince people to spade and neuter their pets ! I thank you all for your help with my furry little family !!! Well you don’t like them fireworks !!! Take Care !!!
Thank you so much for your help and thank you for all the wonderful things you have done for me for taker my beautiful precius this is my bb girl ❤️
This place is a life saver, literally. My senior Chihuahua needed eye surgery removal, and it was urgent. I couldn't wait a day longer. I had attempted to treat with meds and antibiotics, but it just kept getting worse, with moments of improvement, then worse. The pain and discomfort were apparent but I didn't have $7000 to correct the lens and was forced to remove the eye. Removal cost was considerably less than a correction, but it was still going to cost me. Due to Covid my photography business has really suffered, to almost non-existent. I've taken a part-time job at a retail store working a few hours a week, but it was simply not enough to cover a huge vet bill. Actors stepped in to cover some of the cost while I fronted the balance, and the vets were kind enough to allow for payments for the final amount. It was a team effort to pay for the surgery. I didn't have to beg or wait days or weeks, I simply filled out a form and waited 24 hours. I am forever grateful for this organization. Thank you.
Thank you SO MUCH for helping us through this sad and scary time. We picked up Pirate from the emergency room with heavy hearts, learning that he needed a hip surgery which would cost $8000 - a sum I could not afford. My daughter did not leave his side after we got home. She even ate her dinner on the floor next to him while he slept. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your assistance. I thought I was going to have to console my daughter (and myself) after having Pirate euthanized. My heart broke at the thought of having to put down a seven month old kitten who was otherwise totally healthy. I spent all morning agonizing over this decision and sobbing. It didn't help that it was also the five year anniversary of the day my son, my daughter's twin, died in utero (I was seven months pregnant when he died). March 4th hasn't been a great day for our family. I'm so grateful you've helped us make this day a little better. Finding Kinder 4 Rescue who performed the needed surgery for only $2000 and then getting the scholarship from Actors and Others was such a blessing. We went with smiles on our faces knowing Pirate was going to get surgery.
Pirate is such a happy boy. He's been a handful since the day we picked him up post-op. In order to save on the cost of a giant crate/kennel that could fit him, his litter box, and his food, which we'd only use for the duration of his convalescence, we got creative and made a kitten enclosure of our own. We used my daughter's fort kit, some plastic chicken wire type fencing, and zip ties and made a nice area where he'd be safe and cozy. My daughter and I could both sit in it with him and keep him company. However, Pirate has zero instinct for survival....and within about 24 hours post surgery he was climbing the inside of his enclosure and hanging from the ceiling! We tried three different kinds of collars but he got them all off, even when we doubled them up! He chewed his stitches out twice. No matter what steps we took to keep him calm and safe he'd find a way around it. Eventually we gave up and let him have the run of the house again. Pirate is back to drinking from the toilet, playing fetch, and wrestling with his brother (I swear he's part dog). At his last follow up appointment at Kinder for Rescue he was given a clean bill of health - he's obviously got great range of motion and is not in any pain. Seeing him snuggled up with my daughter as she watches TV, with his eyes closed and his paw on her arm - it brings me such joy. We are so incredibly grateful for the generous life saving gift you and your angels gave us. My daughter has her best friend back and I've got my faith in humanity back. Thank you so much for saving Pirate!,
Actors and Others helped me with my sweet girl Zoe a couple months ago. My Zoe ended up getting pyometra and when I took her to the vet they had to do surgery right away. I had heard from Actors and Others from a friend and I had reached out and Beverly called me right after I submitted my request online. She was so helpful and sweet. Beverly called me the next day to check on my Zoe and how she was doing. If it weren't for Actors and Others I might not have been able to afford the surgery. My Zoe girl is well and happy as can be. Thank you to Actors and Others and a virtual hug to Ms. Beverly, she is so kind and cares about your furry Family.
My mini pitty was having an ear infection and in need of updating her shots. I was behind in rent and struggling, then came the grace and kindness of Actors & Others for Animals which helped me significantly in saving my baby girl from her suffering when I was unable to do so. I am very grateful...consider donating to this very worthwhile non profit that assists in the care of beloved pets.
I found bear online for free, he's 8 years old and was apparently left by the previous tenants no one knows for how long or anything about him just that he was loving and sweet. Immediately we noticed him weezing, with nose discharge and was very lethargic with a fever. I could only afford 2 weeks of medicine and one vet visit with my income I felt so bad for him. I stayed up looking for help applying to multiple places thinking this was helpless its Los Angeles! It's a huge city there's no way I'll ever get services. But within the first or second day I was Immediately contacted with a response from actors and others! They understood my situation and offered to help. We found out what was going on with bear and medications to improve is his health. I couldn't be more grateful to them. I personally suffer from a mental disorder and bear is my emotional support pet so to lose him or see him suffering was a lot on me I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have actors and others help. I will be forever grateful this place is the real deal thank you so much!!
Sharing my thanks and appreciation to Actors and Others For Animals is my pleasure. You have allowed me to have my sweet Kissy. She was an abandoned kitten that was so very sick. Seemed to be no hope. Reaching out to your organization I found caring and helpful individuals that truly were so understanding and concerned. They immediately offered to help Kissy get the care she needed. She is alive and pouncing on everything including me at sun up! Thank you so much. God bless your wonderful organization.
I have no words to thank for what they have done for my family and especially for my Kuma, we were in an emergency situation, Kuma had to be operated as soon as possible since she had pyometra, and they were so kind, timely and with the best disposition of help, at a time when we had just been diagnosed with Covid and we did not have the resources for the full payment of the operation this organization coming to help, I especially thank Beverly who is a wonderful and dedicated person.
Due to The care and compassion actors and others has complete strangers is amazing. That someone’s generosity cooking such a difference in someone’s life. My dog became sick and unfortunately went to a veterinarian who took the money and basically did nothing and told me to go to VCA my dog had an obstruction. The next day I took my dog to another veterinarian and was told that he needed to be put on a low fat diet. Had some signs of pancreatic problem. I had already wasted over 600 and now is in need of more . In order for my dog to stay healthy he needed more teeth polled and cleaning. After some others was very generous kept in contact with me and help me through this difficult time. If my dog would die just because I didn’t have enough money for dental work.I am happy to say that Bailey is alive and healthy and active and my heart goes out to all the Caring people At actors others.
Actors & Others is heaven sent! My cat Jagger needed to have his teeth pulled because they were rotting (from a disease he has). The bill was going to be in the $650’s-$1000’s to get them removed! This quote was given by the Humane society in San Bernardino. Financially that would have taken a toll on us. The humane society basically told me that if I could not afford this necessary surgery for my cat that I would have to euthanize him! I was so upset to hear that they would have that as an option only because I could not afford it.
I was fortunate enough to find Actors & Others to help with paying foe the surgery. My cat is SO happy now that he has had his surgery.
Thank you SO much Actors & Others for all your help and support. I will be referring you to others who need assistance. Thanks again :)
I was refer by my sister to this organization. The lady that answers the phone was the most helpful person. She help me and gave me advice. My dog had a big mass on his back leg. Needed surgery, but was very expensive.
But I was not about to put her to sleep. This organization help me tremendously financially. Thanks to this organization my 12yr old Penny is alive and well.Thank you very much for caring for our Pets in distress and of course , us the owners.

My lovely Pinky and I had the most amazing experience with actors and others.
they were able to help me save my lovely girl to have more years with me. Her cancer tumor was successfully removed and she is now completely back to Normal. She ended up loosing her older brother a few days after her surgery and they were a tremendous help to us to help our boy also go into a peaceful path of passage.
I have attached a picture of her from the say of surgery with her tumor and from a week ago.
you guys have truly saved both of us your help was something that made a huge difference as experiencing the lost of her bother was not easy but we knew she was healthy and we had to help her keep her head up.
thank you so much
I am grateful for the wonderful folks at Actors & Others and their generous donors! I have a wonderful 10-month-old German Shepherd named Amani who chose me as her owner during the pandemic. Amani is an energetic, happy, and lovable puppy! She loves to play in the park with her friends and run, run, run! On a playdate with her Husky and Rottweiler friends, I noticed a big red bump on her paw, I didn't think much of it until day two or three days later when I noticed her limping and the bump starting to ooze something out of it. I called one Vet out in the I.E and the vet thought Amani might have a foreign object stuck in her paw and gave me antibiotics and said if she didn't heal in a week, he would need to perform an "exploratory surgery" to see what was in her paw and remove it. He also mentioned the cost to do so would be $750.00! I am a full-time doctoral student at USC and did not have $750.00 budgeted for Amani and this medical cost. I reached out to Actors & Others and filled out the online form when I was quoted this price. I got a call from the super helpful Beverly, a couple of days later, who suggested another Vet, Dr. Naito, at Huntington Pet vet and to let her know when I could get an appointment. I called Huntington Pet Vet and explained what was going on and the amazing Dr. Naito saw Amani and Me THE SAME DAY! I was so thankful! Dr. Naito took one look at Amani's paw and said that she had been bit by a BROWN RECLUSE SPIDER!! The odor that was coming from her paw was rotting flesh! Dr. Naito kept Amani overnight and performed the surgery to remove the rotten/rotting flesh from Amani's paw and I was able to pick Amani up the next day! Amani has a 3-4 week recovery time but she is happy and walking great! I am so grateful to Actors & Others for the donation for the cost of Amani's surgery and antibiotics! They came through for me and I am forever grateful! THANK YOU ACTORS & OTHERS! Once I graduate and I am in a full-time job with an expendable income, I will be making a donation to give back! Thank you!!! AMANI Thanks you all too! We hope to meet you all in person one day!
I am so grateful to Actors and Others for saving my friend Bob's Terrier mix pet daughter Miss Bobbie's life. Beverly from Actors and Others really cares and has the follow through. She made sure that I got her to the vets at Kinder care. Actors and Others paid for the vet visit and all her tests. The results showed she had an enormous gall stone in her bladder that needed immediate removal via surgery. Bob, Miss Bobbie and I are forever grateful for their help. Miss Bobbie has her health back and her quality of life! Thank you so much. Blessings to you. You are my heroes!
I am very pleased that I was able to get assistance from Actors and Others, my chihuahua was in desperate need of dental work. She did have a tooth pulled and since she is 13 years old she gives me a bad time every time I brush her teeth, but I do my best. Thank you again for your services
So I have a cocker spaniel who I rescued because I have health conditions so I’ve had a stroke in the past and I was getting ready to have another one when she pretty much saved me so one day I was loving on her and I found this huge almost like a cyst on her arm and I instantly was referred to actors and others which were by the way amazing and very helpful they even help me find a vet that would be able to do the surgery that they work with and she is doing much better and is way happier now and I couldn’t be more blessed due to actors and others and I Thank them from the bottom of my heart for help me help my baby girl. Miss Clayton
I am SO Thankful for Actors and Others for Animals! They REALLY helped me SO much!!! My beautiful tuxedo kitty Mishi had a swollen belly and they guided me where to go and assisted me with payment. The doctor said it was full of fluid and if I had not gone she couldve suffocated as it couldve gone in her lungs!!! I really dont know what couldve happened if they had not helped me. Eventually Mishi had to go to heaven but she was able to live comfortably for a few more weeks and when it was time to go I went to the place Actors and Others suggested and it was done very easily and affordably. Its SO hard losing a pet or having an ill pet and when you have help and guidance and financial assistance it makes it soo much easier. Actors and Others are angels and I am TRULY grateful for them. I feel so blessed that they helped me! Beverly is the person who assisted me. She'd call me back and followed up on Mishi. She was VERY KIND and HELPFUL!!! I am forever grateful! Thank you!!!
I don’t even know where to begin as my eyes fill with tears. If it wasn’t for actors and others I wouldn’t have my fur baby right now. I spent my savings trying to save my little dog. After spending all my savings at a specialist he was misdiagnosed by them. I took him to another hospital and finally found out he had bladder stones and needed a 4,000 dollar surgery. 4,000 dollars I no longer had. I was then told to euthanize him if I couldn’t afford the surgery. That night I told my little dog I was not giving up and that I would find him the help he needed. That same night I reached out to actors and others and the very next day, Laura from actors and others got in touch with me. She helped me find an amazing vet and helped pay for the surgery. Kona is now back to himself and so happy. My little dog Kona and I are forever thankful.
About four years ago my husband fund something in our yard and brought it into the house to me, I thought it was a baby bunny it was so small. It turned out to be a baby chihuahua. He was so not handsome. I named him Scrounge and added him to our previously rescued pack. When my son passed away a few years back my niece gave me a dog she had rescued to make me fell better. Well as you know that did happen, also that is the beginning of a long story. Lol! Anyway one day I noticed a cut on Scrounges face and could not figure out how it happened. I kept treating yet it never healed. I took him to my Vet and he said, Scrounge had an abscess tooth, $450.00 to pull the tooth. I could not believe it I could no way come up with this amount. I had been notified recently that after being sold the company I worked for for 45 yrs. was moving out of state. I remembered Actors and Others and how very kind and helpful they were years back when I started catching the neighborhood feral cats. They helped my with vouchers and if none were available gave me names of other organizations. I called them and immediately I was given the information on how to request help. I received a call within a week took Scrounge to a Vet that accepted their vouchers, mine did not. Also the Vet bill was less expensive. I am so happy for the help and so is Scrounge. I didn't realize how much pain he was in until it was all over.
Thank you Actors and others!!! I can’t thank you enough on how much you help my sweet Bella .what you do for people and animals is a blessing! Bella and I are very grateful for your help. Bella had an over sized tumor on her tail ,which brought grate pain and bothered her . With your generous donation she was able to get her surgery and live her life with out pain. In times like we’ve all had in 2020 . Have been stressful and life changing .please donate and help others like it has helped my dear Bella . Thank you to everyone who donates and thank you to all the staff who make this possible . Have an amazing day .
My guard dog and friend of 11 yrs had become very ill. He had broken back teeth and a large growth on his private parts which was determined to be cancer. I brought him to Dr Rex in San Bernardino , he's an excellent vet and very caring person. Between the teeth and cancer surgery it came to a bill out of my reach. I've had cancer myself for 5 years of a battle that has hurt my finances but i thank God I'm still doing OK, things could be a lot worse and that would include loosing my beloved friend of 11 yrs. They told me of this program and they helped me save his life. Thank you very much from myself and Chance.
I love Actors and Others, any time I need financial assistance, they fine a way. I don't need to use them alot, but when I do, they are so helpful and can direct me to a wonderful vet to help me in my area. Animals would suffer unwanted pregnancy that adds to major over population. Thank you bunches you guys are my heros!!!
My poor kitty Charlotte got out one night and when we found her the next day she couldnt use her front right leg at all. After an x ray it was revealed that she had been shot with a pellet gun, which badly fractured her leg. The veterinarian recommended amputation and thankfully Actors and Other for Animals was able to help me cover the costs. They were incredibly quick to respond to my request, and with payment to the veterinarian. I'm so glad there are people out there who truly care and help animals when they need it.
Thank you for your help , actors and others help me with my 2 dogs surgery for 1 and the other got spayed, they are amazing and helpful , thank you for helping us ❤️
Hello I wanted to Thank the Actors & Others for helping my Senior Dog ToTo!
He needed his teeth cleaned & some of his teeth extracted.
Not only did they help me with the Financial part. They also recommended me to a fabulous Vet in my area, that happens to be fantastic, caring loving vet! I’m so grateful for this Organization.
Thank You Again Actors & Others

Hi everyone my name is Gladys today I'm here to give thanks to Actors and Others for Animals! Although saying thanks is not enough they helped me pay for the surgery of my senior dog. My senior dog unfortunately had some mammary gland tumors. The tumors had gotten so bad my poor fur baby could hardly walk due to them spreading around her whole tummy area. I worked part time i was unable to cover the costly bill for the surgery. But thank God for Actors and Others for Animals they paid for most of the surgery along with paying for my other pups to be spayed! If I hadn't been recommended to them I don't know what I would've done and how much longer my fur baby would've handled all those tumors. I definitely recommend them to friends and family and definitely will support them for as long as I can!
Actors and Others for Animals once again stepped up to help a homeless lady's dog, named Boy who was in need of having a mass growth removed. Actors and Others has always been responsive and never hesitates to offer assistance. I am impressed by the dedication and commitment of this organization whom truly show they care for the animals. I am so thank full to Actors and Others, who covered the vet/blood lab work that was needed prior to the surgical removal being done at no cost through another Foundation. Being homeless, Boy's owner Irene could not have come up with the cost of the bloodwwork alone. Irene is so thankful as well and Boy is one happy camper! Thank you so much, Grissel and irene

Thanks to Actors & Others, little Pookie was able to have pelvic surgery after getting hit by a car, and she is doing well!. Pookie is homeless with her momma and fur sister, staying in a camp in Long Beach. Momma was desperately looking for financial help to cover the cost of surgery. She had gotten one cost of over $4k from one vet, and was in tears. She reached out to me (homeless advocate) and I came across Actors & Others in my research. I quickly applied on her behalf using their online form. Within minutes. Laura called me, I explained the situation, and She referred me to Kinder 4 Rescue who could do the surgery for $1500!!!! Additionally, Laura pledged $499 and made the payment to Kinder immediately!! Pookie had surgery a couple of days later after my call with Laura (other orgs also donated to cover the whole cost). Had it not been for Laura and this amazing org, Pookie may have very well been euthanized as her mom was seriously considering that initially when facing the high cost and lack of resources. Besides the financial contribution, Laura took the time and effort to hear her story and situation and without hesitation, referred us to a wonderful vet resource run by volunteer surgeons. Thank you Laura and Actors & Others!!! You do amazing work!
Actors and others are amazing, words cannot express the gratitude for the help they gave our baby Kona. Kona had a mammary tumor that had to be removed before it became cancerous and Actors and Others came thru for us with help. Kona is a special dog - she brightens up our days and there is no possible way that we would be able to live without her. She is loved by all of us and now healed we see she is back to her normal self. Boxers are amazing, they are not only pets but they are family.
If you are able to donate to this nonprofit, please do because of you pets like Kona will be healed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Castaneda Family
Actors and Others was so wonderful to work with. Our little fur baby girl Zelda (Siamese Cat) had somehow obtained an abscess on her side, we hadn’t noticed anything at first, she was fast and playful as usual, until she wasn’t. I called my vet to see how much they thought the costs might be, after hearing she may need surgery, I already knew I wouldn’t be able to afford the costs... they gave me some options in which we’re not available to me then they told me about Actors and Others, I had called and put in my request and went to the vet without having a response yet because my fur baby was in pain and I just couldn’t wait any longer, I wanted to know what was wrong and what we needed to do to help her get better.... by the time I got to the vet and got seen by the Doctor, Actors and Others had already called my Doctor and approved my request! What I couldn’t cover, Actors and Others took care of it for me. We went along with the procedure and although it was a rough recovery, I am happy to say that our little girl is doing great! Thank you Actors and Others for your love and support!
Actors and others was a huge help for my dog and I . My dog needed surgery for her eye to be removed and we only had half of the money . Actors and others payed the rest and also payed to have her spayed . We are beyond grateful for their help .
Actors and Others was a HUGE help for both me and my dog. I cannot complain about the help I received and the weight they removed from my shoulders. I qualified for the voucher on my dogs neuter, but his problem was he was cryptorchid. So his surgery was more complicated and required more money which I did not have. They gave him his surgery and medication, as well as chipped him. All included. My only problem was that I was called right before his surgery saying he needed bloodwork done, which was an extra 125 and those are costs I need to be warned of ahead of time because I need some time to save up for it. Luckily my sister allowed me to borrow from her but if she didn't I would have done a payment plan which they didn't seem to want to let me do. I have yet to call for a copy to make sure it was done. One big problem I did see was the way the lady who runs the place was behaving. And I would not be surprised if she was acting the same with the animals because since that visit my dog's once sweet behaviour towards anyone turned into aggression. She was rude, to not only the clients but her own employees. I received a call and called back moments later for a question and was told in a rude tone that I shouldn't be calling because it is an emergency number I called (then why would I receive a call from a number they use for emergencies). And if I wasn't called about my dogs surgery being over then not to bother. The lady in charge was being rude to her employees who have been there since the very early morning to the minimum of 10:30pm when I picked up my dog. She was practically scolding her in front of any clients with no shame and getting angry over reasonable questions she had. It was not the type of energy I wanted myself or the other animals around after a stressful surgery, especially since animals feel the tension way more. So overall, the foundation:huge help, very thankful. The tall white lady in charge: could be better, watchout.
Toddy is 12 years old and needed a full mouth of dental extractions. Without a employment due to a disability, I am grateful that this serious condition was addressed with the help of this amazing organization. I do not know what I would do if anything happened to my sweet companion. Thank you and God bless.
Actors and others were a big help when I found out my service dog had torn his ACL, and needed surgery. I lost hearing in both ears a little over 2 years ago, and “Tank” since then, has had some training to allow me to take him in public. The cost of the surgery was overwhelming, so I reached out to Actors and others. They were so kind to help financially, but also referred me to a low cost clinic. Tank is almost fully recovered, and I am so grateful to Actors and Others for their help.
Bennie urgently needed surgery due a very bad ear infection on both sides. The cost was more than my family could afford. Actors and Others came to our rescue and graciously offered to cover half of the expenses plus neutering fees for any other pets we had. Wow! We owe Actors and Others a debt of gratitude for the help and support they’ve provided to our family
My 6 year old female Beagle named Violet went through 3 UTIs and crystals in her bladder in 2019. Once she started urinating blood clots we had an ultrasound done. The results showed a very large tumor in her bladder. We were then referred to an oncologist where she had several different tests for cancer cells. All of the results showed negative of cancer. This greatly stumped us and the doctors, since the majority of bladder tumors are TCC (transitional cell carcinoma). We were finally given the green light for surgery to remove the mass. But at this point we were out of money and needed help. We turned to Actors and Others For Animals and they generously donated for Violet's surgery. The mass was removed and the biopsy came out 100% cancer free! Violet is a healthy pup with many more years of life with love and happiness.
These wonderful people helped me get 3 feral cats neutered / spayed, August of 2019. One of them (Woody) got his paw hurt and needed to be seen by a vet. April 2020
Again Actors and Others stepped up to the plate and helped with the expenses , Woody stayed indoors for two weeks while he healed up ,and realized that it is much better being a house cat ,at least during the night !!
Thank you so much for your help, Laura and Beverly and especially Actors and Others !!
They are definitely heaven sent! They were able to help me just hours before I had to take my pet into surgery! They also gave me tips as well to keep my pet healthy and gave me a list of low cost clinics as well. I am forever grateful for the services they were able to help me with and my pet is now healthier than ever thanks to the assistance provided by Actors and Others for Animals! I would highly recommend anyone who really needs assistance for their animal to speak to them. Thank you guys once again for all you do for those who desperately need the extra help we are forever grateful!
What can I say about actors and others for animals there is simply not enough time or space to say how much they came to my rescue financially to help me. Bella is a foster malt mix senior who I took in because she was simply doomed if she stayed where she was. First stop groomers and second was the vet. When we took her to the vets we all cried when they explained what had happened and what was needed. She was neglected and was suffering because of this. She had never been spayed or any dental care. She had mammary tumors as well as rotten teeth and severe tartar. The was scheduled for 2 surgeries. First was the spaying and removal of the mammary tumors and 3 weeks later her dental surgery. Which consisted of 7 extraction and severe tartar removal. After 2 week recovery she is a whole new dog! She has plenty of energy and whole new dog!!! If it wasn’t for actor and others who knows what would have happened to this sweet pea. I have no idea how to ever thank them enough !!
I am forever in love with actors and Others I am attaching phots to see the before and after of this sweet pea
My 12 year old dog, Penny Lane, woke up one morning and she couldn't open her jaw. She kept clawing at her face. We took her to a local vet who said she needed a bunch of teeth pulled, and the price was going to be up to $1,500! They gave me Actors and Others information and I contacted them through their website, and they got back to me within a day! They recommended another vet that would be less expensive, and they were literally a quarter of the price. It was still more money than we had so Actors and Others split the cost with us. It was such a needed blessing. Penny Lane is doing amazing after 13 teeth were pulled! I'm also excited that I have a new vet now. It's about an hour away but 100% worth the drive. Thank you Animals and Others for all of your help.
We had a stray cat living in our backyard, and he was injured it took us days to catch him, and we finally did, and took him to the vet. The vet said his leg needed to be amputated, and we wanted to help him, but we couldn't afford to. If it wasn't for Actors and Others for animals I don't know what would of happened. It was a long journey of recovery, but Mambo is doing great now, and he's such a happy boy.
My poor kitty was suffering from bladder stones and you guys were able to provide me with help right away she is now doing amazing and I couldn't be more great-full. Thank you so much for your quick response and taking the time to help out "baby" and my family..
My beautiful disability service dog Niko has cancer. We had an urgent need to remove a fast growing tumor and also to determine the nature of it. I live on social security income and could not afford the cost of the surgery. It became very difficult to raise the funds. Many pet charities will not provide donations for older dogs with cancer, citing that cancer in a dog over nine is an old dog issue, not a health crisis. But the removal of this tumor was a health crisis. Not only did Actors and Others for Animals come to the rescue with a generous donation towards his surgery, but were also compassionate and comforting in our time of need. I will be forever grateful to them.
Actors and Others are amazing people. Bailey our Golden Retriever tore her ACL playing in the park. After finding out that it is complicated and expensive surgery, we contacted Actors and Others. Beverly replied to us within a day and gave us a wonderful recommendation where to go for the surgery. She suggested to contact Panorama Pet Hospital who were half the price that we were quoted in the SouthBay area. This tip by Beverly saved us over $2500 and they still supported us financially with some of the cost. Beverly is such a wonderful person and we are extremely thankful to everyone at Actors and Others. It's been 2 months since the surgery and Bailey is walking well and we cannot wait to play with her again off leash. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. Michelle, Christian and Bailey
Hello, my family and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the donors and staff from Actors and Others for animals for helping us with our dog Rocco. I'm a recently divorce woman, recent overian cancer survivor, a mother of three kids under the age of 5 years old. We have an 8 year old dog, Rocco who had a large size lump on the right back leg which was causing him tremendous discomfort, to the point of him limping. Actor and Others referred us to a veterinarian with very reasonable prices to check and perform surgery for Rocco. Three week ago he had the surgery done to remove the lump and he's recovered wonderfully. He is no longer limping. And recently the veterinarian told us that the lump was benign. We are so grateful and we are thankful for programs such as this. It was a true blessing. God bless everyone involved. Thank you.
I had rescued a very small chihuahua in November 2019(I think it was that time period) and she had extremely bad dental issues. The Humane Society gave me a price of almost $900.00. I almost fainted. Then they gave me different places where I could go for help with the cost. I am an 82 year old senior, and you know how much seniors receive monthly. When I filled out the request for assistance with A & O, a lady named Beverly talked to me and gave me the name of a veterinarian near home that I could contact. Although it was a difficult drive for me to make, I did it. They were so very kind and the charge was less than half of what the HSUS had given me. She is in tremendous shape now. She is almost 9 years old, so that just extended her life a lot (doubled it). I would like for Beverly to accommodate me with helping to donate regularly to your cause. I can't give much, but I have been donating to the Humane Society for several years, and I now believe that your organization can be more in sync with receiving a small donation per month. I will send the small donation from my bank to you by bank check. Please contact me (909-332-5052) so that I can set this donation up to help you to help others. Thanks so much. Carol Moyer. Sorry that I cannot send a photo as I don't know how to do it. Maybe later. She is about 6 lbs. and pretty set in her adorable ways.
Actors another’s was a godsend to our family and to our dog Rocky Balboa. Rocky was running and somehow managed to tear his ACL completely through and he needed a very serious surgery, which was very very expensive. We are very large family and I also take care of my grandmother that has Alzheimer’s So funds are limited actors and others saved rocky from a life of disability by not being able to use his leg this organization is amazing and one day I will pay it forward and pay them back when I am more financially able to.
We just want to say the HUGEST thank you to Actors & Others for Animals. Our dog needed some dental surgery. We were told by the veterinarian that our dog's tooth was probably extremely painful and the tooth needed to be removed. The cost to cover this is expensive. We had some money saved but it would take longer to save the whole amount. Our veterinarian told us about Actors & Others for Animals and how they may be able to help. We followed the instructions for applying. Laura was so helpful and nice. Actors & Others for Animals was able to help us cover part of the costs of our dog's dental surgery. We are forever grateful for their help.
I am so very grateful to Actors and Others for their support. Sophie's paws are still red from how hard she was crewing them due to her decaying teeth pain. I initially thought it was allergies but shortly I realized she was in real pain. I was a student at the time and the vet I was taking her repeatedly quoted thousands of dollars for a dental cleaning, leaving me feeling powerless to help my pup out of the pain. Things turned around when a vet finally referred me to another vet who actually works with more reasonable prices. Dr Suman (https://www.panoramapethospital.com/) ultimately gave me a more reasonable quote and told me about Actors and Others. I am so grateful for this organization's support, it cut the bill considerably and it really made the procedure possible. Sophie has not once chewed her paws since then! She is the happiest pup again (as she had stopped playing due to the pain for the longest time) and I am so grateful she is not in pain and can enjoy the rest of her days giving so much joy to all those around. Thank you Actors and Others for making this possible for Sophie. I will spread the word about the wonderful support you give to people with pups.
My two year old Daschund was very ill. He was an outdoor dog and I believe he ate something that got him sick. Vets could not tell what was wrong. A few test needed to take place...which meant $$$. The amount was over my budget. I really thought I was going to lose Elvis. Thankfully actors and others came to the rescue and helped with a portion of my bill. I am so grateful that my little Elvis Clark Chaplin is up and running around like himself again. He also got his appetite back and gained his weight back. Now he is an indoor dog. I don’t want to take any chances.
Thank you actors and others for helping my little guy.
P.S He is named after Elvis Presley, Clark Gable, and Charlie Chaplin .

My kitten Panther got out and was hit by a car. His jaw was broken and his rear leg. I am new to pet ownership and was not aware of how much an emergency vet bill could run! My Panther is only 9 months old and I've really come to love him. I was devastated and didn't know what to do, but I am so grateful for the Actors and Others Foundation, they were willing to graciously donate a substantial contribution towards Panthers emergency surgery and I will forever be so grateful. I hope to give back as soon as I am able. God Bless You All. Thank you again,
Sincerely,
Joanne Slaughter
I am retired and on limited income. Became owner of abandoned 2 year old German Shepherd mix. He needed to be neutered and I was unable to afford the procedure. Contacted Actors and Others for Animals and they not only paid the entire bill for neutering but also covered surgery for undescended testical.
Am so very thankful for this group of caring people. Could never have afforded to take in this beautiful creature if not for the support I received from them. Very Very Thankful.
I’m so grateful for Actors & Others for Animals . My little 8 month old chihuahua was diagnosed with an open pyometra . It was a very emotional and stressful journey. I thought she wasn’t gonna make it every Veterinary clinic I called they told me she was gonna have to wait for an appointment and I never gave up to find a place that was able to take her in right away. Thank you so much now my little chihuahua is back to her playful self .
In May 2019, we found out that our golden retriever “Argentina” needed an urgent and very complicated surgery that involved splenectomy and pyometra procedures. That was at a cost of about $5,000, which we didn’t have. We contacted Actors and Others for help and they responded immediately. They called me and gave me a couple of numbers of other vets that could do the surgery at a lower price. We told them we only had $2,500, which were all our savings to pay for the surgery that could save our dog’s life. Beverly (from Actors and Others) asked me to give her a call with any news I had after contacting the other vets. I contacted a vet two hours away from where we live and they were able to perform the surgery (at a much reasonable amount). My dog had been misdiagnosed, she had a cyst in the ovary that was the size of a cantaloupe. Now our dog is totally recovered, she’s very energetic and happy. Actors and Others helped us to pay part of the bill so we didn’t have to use all our savings in the surgery. They were very kind and empathetic. Beverly called me almost every day to see how my dog was doing, even weeks after the surgery! We are very grateful with the financial help from Actors and Others, but mainly with the human and caring way they showed their concern for our dog’s well-being. We also want to extend our thanks to all the donors that contribute for this great cause, helping families to save their beloved pets. And thanks again Actors and Others for all your support!!!
Early 2019, a new rescue I took off the street and named Buddy, was attacked by another dog, while I was at work and my son was watching the animals. When I got home that night I checked Buddy over and he seemed OK, but 2 days later, I noticed he was walking slow, which I figured was just a sore muscle.
The next morning, he was very lethargic and laying on his side in the back yard, when I finally - 3 days after the attack - I realized his scrotum had been ripped open and he was very infected.
I took him to the emergency clinic closest to my house and was charged over $600.00 for a few pain pills and antibiotics. This same hospital was fairly adamant that I let them do a surgery called a Scrotal Ablation and the cost would be between $6,000. and 8,000.00!
I did not have that kind of money laying around and took him home. Upon taking him to another vet the cost was about 1/2, but I still needed financial assistance, even for $3,800.
A friend told me about Actors and Others for Animals and I sent an email asking for help ---
Not only did they help from start to finish, but they also found a teaching hospital that was able to preform the surgery for less than a 10th of even the lowered estimate and they covered the entire procedure.
What a God-send these people are in a world where so many struggle financially.
THANK YOU ACTORS AND OTHERS FOR ANIMALS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
The day will come when I can give back again, and you are at the top of my list!
I am a disabled senior and also a Cancer patient, so my furbaby companion is especially important to me. Sometimes money is tight and my doggie needed deep teeth cleaning. The first Dentist wanted an exorbitant fee. ACTORS AND OTHER'S was able to help me get a second opinion and his fee was about 5 times less. They also help provide the funds. Marina had her Dental cleaning . They did a great job. I will forever be deeply grateful for the assistance i received from this fabulous organization.
I cannot rave enough about this organization. I was at my wits end, caring for a sick Mom, an autistic grandson, dealing with a bad knee and then came my little Miniature Pincher in need of a surgery I simply could not afford. It's been a tough few years and it's so nice to enjoy a small miracle. Thank you!!
Actors and others came via a recommendation from my vet. I befriended a stray who showed up one day injured, which later we found out was a foxtail sticker in his eye. When we got him to our vet for his shots and neuter and an assessment on his eye, it was determined he needed to have the eye removed. If it wasnt for the help of this amazing group, I would not have been able to save my sweet Odin and give him a pampered life inside.
I am so great full for the help I received from this organization! My 13 year old labrador, Roxy, had a few growing masses on her eye, all the diagnostics we received were simply scary and expensive, Roxy is a therapy dog with Love on Four Paws and she loves working at hospitals! Another volunteer at Love on Four Paws gave us the name of a great vet at North Figueroa Animal Hospital, Roxy received and affordable quote for her surgery and with the help of Actors & Others for Animals she is back on doing what she loves as a therapy dog, she is fully recovered, the masses might grow back but for now is back at work! We are forever grateful, thank you again!
My name is Brad Humphrey my girl Lucy a black lab had a huge infection on the left side of her face from a dog fight. The surgery was over a 1,000 dollars. Actors and others helped out with a donation of 250.00. Which helped me out financially because I don't make a lot of money driving a school bus 4 hours a day.Thank God there are places like Actor and others that can help.people like my self to help take care of our fur babies. Thank you again Actor and others my Lucy is all healed and healthy.
Actors and others saved my dog's life. My dog Nala is our second child. Nala snuck off and got pregnant. But when she went to have her pup one got lodged in her canal. I didn't have the money what so ever to handle the expensive surgery she needed to live. Actors and others helped with more then they can normally even afford, I cannot express my gratitude enough to this organization. Thank you so much. When I can afford a donation it goes to you!
I took Domino in to keep her from going to a shelter. She's an amazing dog, but has an auto-immune disease that attacked her gums and teeth, causing a terrible infection and requiring her to have surgery. This surgery would have been extremely difficult to do without Actors & Others for Animals. They reponded quickly in our emergency situation and provided desperately needed help at critical time. Thank you to all of your staff, volunteers, and donors! You help us help them!
My name is Elizabeth! My kitties name is Blue, he’s a linx point Siamese. Big blue eyes & extremely handsome. Turns out he had a UTI & it was urgent he received treatment immediately. I am a student & had just paid my rent & did not have any extra funds to help him, nor did I have anyone to help me. I live alone. I was trying not to give up, but after calling around 20 different places & not being able to afford any of them, I was ready to surrender him, I just wanted him to live. A random gentleman told me about this Group & so I messaged them immediately. I was not expecting a response, but I gave it a shot. Sure enough I received a call immediately & went down within an hour to a Vet, and it was all so simple. The relief I felt & still have. I am so forever grateful. I’ve had Blu since he was 2 weeks old, I bottle fed him & the hole nine yards. He’s my baby & they saved him. I can’t thank you enough!
Well, my 12yo Yorkie, Scruffy, developed a huge lump on his front shoulder over the period of a couple years. When I finally saved some money, I gave A & O a call, they had me fill out their questionaire on their website. The operation was $900, including teeth removal and cleaning, and not including the re-visit for his cough.
The last time I received help, was a god-send. Scruffy's eye was mutalated by another dog, and after a week he was taken from apple valley to hesperia animal clinic, after he got lost, where they operated and removed his damaged eye. A & O asked for any financial contribution I could manage, I could only manage the $85 in my pocket, and that was good enough. I can't thank these folkes enough for their help, now Scruffy doesn't limp anymore... still fighting off the cough with medication. But you'd never know he was 12 he's got so much life-energy, I'm 56 and disabled, there are times when I feel down or depressed and Scruffy always makes my day brighter.
Thank you again, A & O
I am so grateful for this foundation. My Katie has had a bad time with her teeth. I myself have been bogged down with bills and necessary scans for myself due to having Cancer twice. I couldn't afford to pay for her treatment in full. I was even Recomended a Vet from them. I Bet was wonderful. He even addressed her allergies and gave her medication for that. She had stopped her itching completely. I want to thank you so much h cor the help you provided.
My 10 year old Chihuahua mix, Nacho, was diagnosed with Bladder Stones. After a 4-5 hour surgery to remove 100-120 variously sized stones which completely blocked him up making it impossible for him to pass any urine, he had to stay in the hospital for a full week under observation. Without this surgery he would have surely died.
But after a week, the bill was going higher quickly. What I thought was going to be $800-$900 in charges was quickly approaching the $3000 mark.
Most of the many agencies I contacted for help said they had no funds available to help with a bill that high. The Veterinarian's office wanted payment in full, but there was no way I could pay a bill that high at one time.
Fortunately, the folks at Actors and Others for Animals stepped up and found funding to pay Nacho's bill.
Today, one month later, Nacho is back to energetic self, running and jumping and enjoying several walks a day with his Daddy.
If it weren't for the timely caring and kindness of Actors and Others for Animals, I don't know what Nacho's fate would have been.
Thank you, Actors and Others for Animals, for bringing Nacho home!
My little mini Pekingese Coco needed an invasive dental cleaning, as I was struggling to get a vet to accept her. This review is long overdue, as I wanted to offer my immense appreciation to Beverly, several years ago. Unfortunately my dog has reoccurring dental issues again, even though I have tried to be astute in her care. Short nosed breeds are more challenging. I wanted to say thank you so very much, as I had initially wanted to send a card expressing my thanks to Beverly and to the vet in Fullerton, in regards to a different situation which arose previously with my little dog, some time ago., which Actors also very graciously and patiently, assisted me with. This acknowledgment is long overdue, as I’m so sorry. I’ve just had a lot of things come up in my life over the last few years. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness and generosity you offered towards myself and my little dog. Actors and Others is a top notch organization. I thank you so overwhelmingly much for what you did for me.
Hello,
We are Scott and Laura Johnson, the very happy and grateful owners of a five year old healthy Dachshund named Lola thanks to Beverly and the wonderful people at Actors and Others.
Back in December, 2018, we noticed a mass on her under belly near one of her nipples that had grown quickly to the size of a golf ball and turned red and we became very concerned. We took her to a local Vet in Upland, and she was diagnosed with a mammoth mass of unknown origin. The Vet told us she required a number of tests as well as surgery totaling nearly $2,000 including spaying her. We were in shock and had no idea what do, as we are retired on fixed income mostly from social security.
One of the staff members at the Vet office told us about “Actors and Others”, a charity that helps pet owners with these these kinds of situations. She helped us fill out the paperwork for help and to send it out for consideration. Within hours, we received a call from Beverly at Actors and Others and she explained clearly and compassionately how the program worked. Beverly immediately made a pledge of $500 toward the costs of treatment. Beverly also counseled us on exactly what we could do to make the cost of treatment more affordable by selecting only the most effective parts of the total estimate.
We were able come up with some of our own money as well as some money from another charity and an affordable financing program called CareCredit and scheduled the surgery for the following week.
Everything went very well and the treatment was successful! Lola recovered quickly and today is a happy, healthy and fully recovered spoiled little girl.
None of this would have been possible without Beverly and the folks at Actors and Others!
Scott, Laura & Lola
I had nowhere to turn, this organization was there for me. I don't know what I would have done without actors and others assistance they are by far one of the best non-profit organizations out there, that help animals. Thank you guys so much!!:)
If it wasn’t for Actors and Others, I would have lost my beloved Lucky. Lucky became very ill and needed xrays desperately. I am a disabled senior and was frantic with worry ... and empty pockets. Thank you so much for helping to save Lucky’s life. God Bless you!
I am overjoyed with the generous and kind assistance I received. I am forever grateful.
In the past I rescued several colonies of cats. Being in need - severe need - for a kitty emergency was upsetting and surprising.
I cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about this Organization, and about Beverley. I will always be very grateful and certainly donate to them when I can. I'm over the moon satisfied, grateful and happy with their generous assistance.Thank you, thank you Actors and Others for Animals. THANK YOU

I rescued Riley from a neighbor that clearly neglected her. She had a rubber band around her neck that had dug into her neck causing a deep laceration. I was not prepared financially to handle that and I refused to send her back to a bad situation. Actors and others definitely saved the day. I truly appreciate them.
I found out my dog had a tumor on his ear in November 2018. I was stressed out because I am a single mom that goes to school full-time and had no fund to pay for my dogs surgery. I called actors and others & within a week my dog got their surgery. They were a big blessing and My dog champ was able to spend another holiday with me (:
LAURA, WITH ACTORS AND OTHERS HELPED MY DOG, WITH SURGERY TO REMOVE A EPULIS TUMOR IN HER MOUTH...FOR THAT WE BOTH. MYSELF AND MY DOG---PUPPY AGE 10..WILL BE ALWAYS GRATEFUL!!!---THANKS SO MUCH LAURA!!1
Hi , I am writing about my 8 year old Pug/Boston Terrier mix dog Carlton. Just like many of you our dog's our are world. My lil dog Carlton started bleeding from his mouth, it was enough where blood was getting on his bedding, it was obvious he was'nt feeling well, he felt warm, his appetite slowed up. I became concerned. I took him into Palmdale Veterinary here in California.
They told me he needed a teeth cleaning , possible tooth extraction. I came home talked to my neighbor next to me, I mentioned to my neighbor how I am on a limited income, I did'nt know how I was going to get my lil dog Carlton well again. My neighbor is the one who referred me to Actors & Others. My neighbor urged me to look them up online, so i put in a online application to Actors & Others, rite away Actors & Others , Beverly called me, she was kind, she informed me how this was going to work. They handled everything from start to finish in a exemplary manner. Actors & Others got in touch with Carlton's Veterinary. They decided to pay half of Carlton's Vet bill. Carlton needed two bottom front teeth extracted, a cleaning , an two masses removed on the roof of his mouth. Carlton has made a mend, healed, going on walks, jumping up an down, playing with his toys, chewing his bones an treats. Only God knows my relief an gratefulness to this Organization Actors & Others.
So thankful to my neighbor for connecting us to Actors & Others, also to Beverly for assisting us, if Carlton could talk he would shout out an say thank you Actors & Others for your help towards my medical bill at Palmdale Veterinary. You helped us through a uncertain time in this little dog's life. Forever grateful to this Organization Actors & Others. Sincere Appreciation, Carlton, Pug/Boston Terrier mix an his owner Debra Aujay.
I adopted Theo from the shelter when he was 11 years old. He had been there for 8 months after his owner died. No one wanted him as he was a pitbull-type dog and of course, "older". He's been with me for 3 years now and he's one of the best decisions I've made as he's wonderful, gentle, loving, friendly, and very funny as you can see with that very serious face that he looks at me with! I'm disabled and he's by my side all day, everyday. He's taught me how wonderful adopting a senior dog can be.
We've had a couple of health issues as once he swallowed a dog toy that had to be surgically retrieved, and most recently when a growth was discovered on his lower eye lid. I've been paying off the first surgery, but now looking at another surgery became scary as I live on disability. The vet warned me that it needed to be removed because of concern for cancer.
I completed the online application for assistance with Actors and Others For Animals hoping that we might be chosen for assistance with the surgery for Theo's eye. For me, since Theo is otherwise in very good health, it was heartbreaking to have to think about not providing this surgery for him....
Actors and Others For Animals pulled though for Theo and I. I received a wonderful phone call shortly after submitting our application. We were given a donation towards the surgery that allowed me to pay a reduced rate and save my wonderful best friend while the growth was still "small".
The surgery was successful. The vet was able to remove the nasty growth and the lab reported that all margins of the specimen removed were clear of cancer. Hurray!
Theo and I want to send a HUGE shout out of thanks to Actors and Others for Animals and their generous donors! We are eternally grateful for your generosity ....Theo is 100%, and those big brown eyes are gorgeous once again.
Around March of 2018 my puppy Winnie (mini terrier) broke a tooth in the middle of the night, the wound would not stop bleeding so I searched for a vet. After her check up the Vet told me it was a permanent tooth broken and the abstraction would cost a lot of money. So I did some research and discovered a clinic that would do the procedure for a fraction of the price and this nonprofit Actors and Others for Animals. The member who spoke to me was impressed to hear how much research I did that they offered not only to cover Winnie's Vet bill they offered to have my other dog Shadie to be spaded at the same time. If it was not for Actors and Others for Animals Willie would have not survived because I could not afford the cost, thank you once again
Babo was very sick for 2 weeks he wouldn't eat he would lay down all the time he was a sad boy didn't understand him. So i took him to the vet's and he sure had a very bad gums infection. His teeth were Brown. His gums were bleeding all the time he was suffering a lot. I couldn't affor his treatment, he need his teeth deep clean. So i appyy for actors & others and the gladly accept my application and they help me. Now babo eats he plays at the park. Hes a happy boy. He smiles. Please donate. This organization is great! Thank you for your donations. Thank you actors & others
So my sweet giant named Rex had a growth on his chest, it started small and in a matter of like two months it shot up to the size of a football. It never bothered him, but grew so fast and began to seep and bleed. So we had to take him to the vet we got an estimate, and quickly realized we couldn't afford it. You see I'm on SSDI, and my wife was let go from her job. I began to panic, but then my vet office recommended a few non-profits that might help. We went home estimate in hand, and began to reach out to different organizations. Thanks to Actors and Others For Animals, and other organizations like them I still have my sweet giant. Rex is a really big baby, he is a mix of Great Dane, Black Lab, and Pitbull. He weighs about 125 lbs, and thinks he's a lap dog. He plays with little Corgi Pomeranian mix all the time, in truth they best buddies and love each other a lot. It took awhile for Rex to heal from surgery, but once he did he went right back to playing... and sleeping in his chair. I want to thank Actors and Other For Animals, their donors, and everyone who helped us ensure we have as much time as possible with our boy.
Thank you actors and others for helping me save my Romeo's life. My three children would have been devasted if Romeo would not have made it.
I was referred to Actors and Others by Beverly of Rottweiler Rescue Los Angeles. My now 12 year old Rott, Samantha had a grapefruit sized mass on her hip. With the help of Ontario Spay and Neuter, she had her surgery and is flourishing, recovery almost to 100%.
None of this would have been possible without assistance of Actors and Other For Animals, I am eternally grateful for the financial assistance they provided.

Actors&Others for Animals is a heart warming organization for those in such need of financial help. I am a single disabled woman with 2 chihuahuas. They are my support, life saviours and my best friends. I received them as puppies and a gift to help me deal with Breast Cancer. They were there for me and so I would be there for them. I'm a 16yr survior now. My babies grew old from time. My 2 dogs needed teeth fixing, badly. After 16yrs later, I'm now disabled and can't afford to pay the cost to get them fixed. I cried my heart out. Seeing them in pain, wishing they could talk. My heart was so broken.Iheard about Actors &Others from my Vet. Followed the easy online directions. I then kissed the computer screen and hoped and prayed for the best. God heard my prayers and A&C was able to help me with majority of the bill. They are wonderful and kind. So Animal Lovers, there is help out there, but they to need our help by donating. Even a small amount of money is a big help to someone like me in my position. Thank you Actors &Others. You saved my 2 babies and mended my broken heart. We are very greatful for your help and support..
Thanks to Actors & Others we were able to afford getting Pippa much-needed dental surgery! Pippa was experiencing bleeding and swelling in her face and was clearly miserable. Thanks to their generosity, recommendations, and referrals, we were able to get her in and alleviate her pain. We could not have done this without Actors & Others, thank you for relieving my stress and Pippa's pain, we are forever grateful!
Bella is a 12 yr old Bull-Mastiff. She was my Fugitive Recovery partner until her retirement in 2017. She was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the weight bearing digit on her right front paw. She is in great condition which made her the perfect candidate for the amputation recommended by 3 different DVM's.
The procedure was to cost $1,500 min. The problem I had was I was still paying on her $9,000 surgery from 2016 and couldn't afford the whole $1,500. I applied to Actors & Others For Animals for help.
Beverly called me the day after I submitted the application. She told me that the organization wanted to help Bella get the surgery she needed. If it wasn't for Actors & Others For Animals, Bella wouldn't be alive today.
Today, Bella is almost completely recovered and will soon be visiting a local Convalescent Hospital to put smiles on patients faces.
I can't thank Actors & Others For Animals enough for their generous donation to save Bella's life.
I would like to take this moment to thank Actors and Others for helping my furry baby Dale.
I wish we would have found Actors and others prior to Dale’s diagnosis. Before we found Actors and other Dale had 4 procedures for his urinary tract obstruction. The hospital we were at told us after keeping there for a week he was going to need a perineal urethrostomy.
I stumbled upon Actors and others. They found us a facility to perform the surgery and would help us. The clinic we went to was awesome the people were great and the doctors were awesome.
The doctors at the clinic explained Dale should have had this surgery instead of being unblocked 4 times.
Unfortunately, my furry baby past away on 9/8/18 a couple days after the surgery. I do not blame anyone for my baby’s death.
Dale was just tired he was in and out of hospital, was tired of all the medication.
The reason in the beginning of this I said I wish we would have found Actors and others prior because after the experience I had with the staff from Actors and Others and the staff from the clinic I was provided. I firmly feel they would have did what they felt was best for my furry baby.
I hope more people and organizations take the time to treat family’s and their furry baby’s like Actors and others did for us.
My Mom had been very depressed since losing her dog and then falling and losing her independence. I found this little 8 month old puppy for her at the shelter. Mom named her Sadie....and fell in love with her. Since Mom's fall she has been very limited, but little Sadie weighing 3.5 pounds was perfect and even easy for Mom to pick up. Everything was grand until I took her in for her well check. I was told she had a very very serious dental problem and needed 10 teeth extracted ...and it was way beyond my means to pay for this. I also found out that she had been returned to the shelter by two other families before me -poor little thing had been suffering for months...I paid the fee for the booster shot and went home feeling frantic. I had already spent more than I could afford ...but Mom and Sadie were so happy together-- I had to find a way to keep them together.... I had to, so I applied for the Care credit card on line and got turned down sadly...I came across Actor's and others for Animals online and I applied ...but it was all happening so fast and So I just decided to spend my entire social security check and not pay any bills and eat peanut butter & jelly all month.. I took Sadie in to get the blood work done, another $75.00. When we got back Beverly had called from Actor's & Other's!!
I will never forget this ever as long as I live. This was a miracle. ... We thanked God. We cried and laughed. And what an advocate that Beverly ... the Vet was so gracious she gave us so many discounts our entire bill dropped down to almost nothing ! Thank you Thank you God Bless All of you and Beverly and all the people who donate to a place who really uses it to help. I don't know what would have happened to Sadie if I had taken her back...after being returned twice already by other families....I will always wonder what would have become of her. From day one she has Loved Mom so much she just stayed with Mom looking into her eyes on her lap, and she still does. It has made us want to be able to donate too.
Many Thanks, Kim and Nola Logan
I wish to take a few minutes to let you all know how wonderful it was that ACTORS & OTHERS FOR ANIMALS made it possible for my Heather to have her much needed dental surgery for her severe gum disease. She had already lost several teeth and lost and additional 15, so you can see how bad it was. She is a new dog today thanks to the funding provided by ACTORS & OTHERS FOR ANIMALS. It never would have happened without them and 2 others funding. I plan on trying hard to donate as soon as I finish paying my share for the surgery. Thank you all for your wonderful gift, you are Angels in my heart always and forever.
I have A wonderful Eskimo dog who had a tumor that was growing and I couldn’t afford surgery. I found a new vet and he gave me actors and others phone number and may help me get his surgery done quite extensive but I hope he will live a long happy life with me has the best dog and God bless everyone At actors and others for the help.He is now so happy he puts his front paws on my bed to Check on me. I am so happy we get to spend more time together but it was a long process I took them almost a month before we could get the stitches out the vet told me it was very vascular check on me. I am so happy we get to spend more time together but it was a long process I took them almost a month before we could get the stitches out vet told me it was very vascular But I did not ask for a biopsy. I don’t care. You’re making it easier for people who want to The care for their pets and are in able to. I tell you I don’t know what I would do if he wasn’t with me right now
I was having a very hard time making ends meet, And it seemed like no matter what I did I would hit a dead end, But my biggest concern was my baby a 12 year old terrier mix and she had dental problems and I could just see the pain in her eyes. I managed to come up with enough for the office visit at my local Vet, More bad news, He gave me an estimate of $1100 to $1500 for dental work she needed, I called everybody I could to try and borrow the money but no luck, then one day I was looking for assistance with Vet bills and found Actors and Others, I filled out the application but the way things were going for me I really didn't expect to hear from them. Then the nicest woman called me from Actors and Others and referred me to a very kind and reasonable Vet and told me they would help with the cost. All I could do was cry tears of joy! She made my day, my Kiba is now pain free, happy and healthy and I owe it all to Actors and Others I don't know what I would of done without their help. This organisation is truly a gift , I can not express my gratitude, I am so very grateful to them and every single person that donates and makes it possible for our furbabies to get the much needed help that we just can't provide due to hard times.
Sincerely,
Jackie and Kiba
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Actors and Others are. I was taking care of a dog, Archer, after he had been neutered and the home he lived in had all dirt, thus he couldn't return until he was healed. Unfortunately, Archer got Parvo from the place he was neutered. I had never had an animal have that disease so didn't know the symptoms. By the third day of being so ill, we took Archer to a wonderful vet. He tested positive. It was heart wrenching seeing him so ill and just not himself. The owner decided he wouldn't pay for the treatment. This is when Actors and Others stepped in! They ended up saving his life and Archer is now his boundful self (cattle dog, tons of energy!!). Thank you so very much for being awesome and caring!!!! Love you guys!!!
Thank you Actors & Other for Animals! Your foundation came through in time for the necessary treatments for my dad's dog Cookie. She was newly discovered with a heart disease. She belonged to my mom and now my dad. Her daddy loves her very much and asked "where the dog?" if he could not see her. My dad has been bed-ridden since last August.
Again, thank you and bless you for your support and care toward humans and animals in serious financial situations.
Linda
Upon returning from a three day getaway we came home to a very very sick little cat ... it turned out she had a horrible obstruction in after a huge bill just for tests at our local vet, They quoted an astronomic amount for an exploratory surgery because the x-rays or not clear on what exactly the problem was. We reached out to actors and others, devastated that this sudden illness could mean losing our little baby. They were able to refer us to a rescue type veterinarian surgical center who performed the surgery for a much more reasonable amount, as well as contributed a portion of the cost so that they would take us o they were able to refer us to a rescue type veterinarian surgical center who performed the surgery for a much more reasonable amount, as well as contributed a portion of the cost so that they would take our little Saphira save her life .
First and foremost, I would like to give endless thanks to Actors & Others. My dog Biggie is roughly 10-11 years old. I received him from a friend who rescued him from underneath a trashcan back in 2011. He was my first dog ever and I have been through so much with him. Earlier this year, I found a tumor on his left paw so I decided to bring him to the vet to check it out. The surgery to have that removed was so much that I thought I was going to lose him. He's around 10 years old and perfectly healthy. The tumor was not bothering him but I knew in the long run he needed to get it removed. I was told about different organizations that could help me financially, since I am a college student. Luckily, Actors and Others came to the rescue and helped me out in a very big way. The surgery and recovery went well. Attached is Biggie after recovery and a grooming session. Thank you Actors and Others for helping save my best friend's life!!
Actors & Others for Animals saved my two cats Jonah & Noah's lives. They paid for the medical bills of both of my babies when I did have the money. Jonah & Noah are doing very well, they are healthy again after the treatment the received. Thank you Actors & Others for your financial support when we most needed to save our family.
We are so grateful for the help we received Actors & Others!
Stella Rosa is our 1 yr old Bassett Hound she is not just a Bassett but a member of our family. On 6/6/18 We knew instantly something was wrong with Stella the next morning I took her to the vet and long story short within 3 days the vet bill was a little over $3000.00.
Stella chews on everything even tress in our yard, rocks what ever she can get into she does. We had a bag of grass seed that we thought was out of her reach, well turns out it wasn’t. Stella had to have surgery for an obstruction. Actors & Others donated $500.00 towards her vet bill, they were so nice and helpful and reassuring in a very stressful & emotional time.
Stella and I want to Thank You again for helping save her life!
I have had my Westie all her life since she was a pup, she is 8 years old now and I had recently gone to the vet because I had found a lump on her tummy and they had told me some terrible news! My fur baby had breast cancer! I was in shock! So I was panicking wondering how in the world am I going to pay for this, I know it’s going to be super expensive! I am working part time as a caregiver and trying to sell things online for extra money so I definitely did not have the money for this. Also someone stole my identity so I can not get a loan approved or open a credit card so I was stuck. Then I talked to the vet tech and she had told me about actors and others and another program called RUFF. I contacted them right away to let them know my situation. I received a call back right away and talked to a nice women for hours about everything and she said she would talk to the other agency and work something out. So I only had to wait a couple of days and sure enough they said they would help pay for the surgery! Phew I was in relief! I couldn’t believe it! It sure was a blessing! And my fur baby is all better with no signs of the cancer spreading either! Thank god! I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your tips and feedback and caring enough to help me pay for my baby to stay alive!
There aren’t enough words for me to describe how wonderful of an experience I had in working with Actos and Others. Not only did they help me with my dog who was on the verge of passing away, but they also showed utmost empathy and understanding throughout the process. I’m truly grateful and cannot say enough positive things about this organization, especially in contrast to the several other organizations of which I had completely opposite experiences. Thank you Actors & Others! Bella is so happy to be alive today thanks to your help!
Hazel was adopted in 2013 from a shelter in Los Angeles. She has been a healthy fur-baby until recently. We took her to a trusted vet and literally spent our last dime on her treatment. She still needed more tests to figure out what was going on but we couldn't do anything more for her at the time.
Our vet recommended calling Actors and Others. She told us that we are exactly the type of people they like to help; responsible owners that take in Pitbulls and give them a good life. They vetted us out to make sure Hazel was being well cared for and that we had the ability to care for her after her testing as well. They also made sure she and our other animals were "fixed". After the application and interview, A&O granted our request for help and thanked us for taking in a pitty and loving her fur life. All of this took less than a week, they truly understood the clock we were up against. Their compassion will not be forgotten.
Thankfully the tests came back negative and our girl is back to her self after a small dietary change.
THANK YOU Actors and Others!!!
My mother who is a senior and myself disabled are very blessed to have your service. Don't Know what we would have done financially without your help. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Roberta and Susan
I was recently laid off from my job when I noticed that my 13 year old cat, William, was having difficulty eating. He appeared to be in pain when he ate his kibble. Upon examining his mouth, I found that his gums were red and inflamed. I took him to the vet. They informed me that he needed blood work prior to anesthesia for his teeth cleaning due to his age. I paid for the blood work but I didn't have much more money to pay for the full amount of his teeth cleaning (and extractions of cracked teeth that I was not aware of until he was getting his teeth cleaned). I paid for most of the cleaning and Actors and Others contributed to the rest. I am so grateful for Actors and Others to help people like me that love our pets but are going through a hard time. We appreciate you!
This organization helped my Missy! I am unable to work due to illness. And my cat Missy needed 2 teeth pulled, she had been getting infections.I am so grateful for the generosity of this organization. You saved my Missy
Thank you
My experience with this organization was great. Our dog Mocha got an infection of oral warts, Canine Oral Papilloma Virus. This is a common occurance in young dogs and older dogs. Well she caught a strain of if that was vicious. We tried to wait it out as all the info on it says they go away on their own. Well we waited a few weeks. During the last week before taking her in the warts grew in size and in quantity. They spread all in the inside of her mouth. They started to affect her eating and breathing. We finally said enough.
We took her into a vet who looked at her honestly 2 minutes or so. Didn’t even look inside her mouth, just to estimate us 1300 dollar surgery to remove them. We were shook. I had just recently taken a job after being unemployed for 6 months. Debt was piled up already that we had to get to first. We didn’t know what to do. We searched everywhere for organizations and came across Actors and Others for Animals. I filed an application Friday. Received a phone call by Monday.
They referred me to a vet who they had worked with in the past closer to my area. That vet estimated their cost to 1/3 of the first vet and this great organization also helped with a pledge. I think if it wasn’t for them things could’ve got way worse even deadly if they had not helped me. I see my dog happy again. Acting herself and I am super grateful to them for giving me that. Thank you. Please help and donate. They really are an amazing company.
My dog had gotten out of the yard a few months back but when I got home she was waiting for me in the front yard so even though she got out, I didn’t think much of it. So has the days went by I notice her getting fat but again didn’t think to much into it until one day I come home from work around 11pm to see her in her bed with a little puppy. This whole time she was pregnant. I stayed up with Ariel, my dog, till 3AM waiting for another puppy but nothing came. At this point I was worried so I found a 24 hour clinic that answered and told me that at my dogs age it’s not to uncommon to only have one to two puppies but i’ve Seen her give birth and every time she had like 7 puppies. The vet told to Waite a few more hours and if nothing bring her in. At 6AM I went to this clinic and they took her in and to be honest don’t know what they did but before anything hit me with a bill of about 500 dollars and said to me that this was just to see if something was wrong and at that moment I was like and if she needs surgery? They said it would be in the thousands. My heart feel cuz I have my dog, her puppy and no thousands to pay. I asked if they would work out a payment plan but said sorry they would need money up front. Then they said that there’s a clinic a town away that would possibly be better for me if money was the issue. I still ended up paying this place 100 dollars just for the visit that ticked me off since they did nothing but kick me out. I then went to this other clinic in where I waited outside till 10am when the vets got there and at this point I was so scared for my dog cuz I could see she was in pain. The clinic finally saw me but they said pretty much the same thing but they did help me with one thing. They got me in touch with Actors and Others for Animals, at first I was here filling out different applications online and leaving voice mails on different organizations pleading for help but within an hour a rep from Actors and Others for Animals gave me a call and told me they would help. After that one phone call, that clinic took my dog and fixed her right up. I owe Ariel’s life to Actors and Others for Animals and truly thank God that you guys do what you guys do. Thank you from me and my family who are all happy that Ariel is still with us and alive.
my Bella cut her back open and needed stitches and we didn't have the funds but thank God for people like you all who blessed our family by paying for the emergency she's 100% better and we can't thank y'all enough may God continue to bless you all
My little guy, Donut, needed some dental work done. He is 15 years old and was suffering terribly from abscesses in his mouth. The surgery cost was estimated to be around $500. I am disabled and could not afford the entire amount. I reached out to Actors and Others for Animals and they helped pay for Donut’s surgery. It brought tears to my eyes to know that there are people out there that would help with an elderly dog. Donut is doing great and I love watching him socialize at the dog park every morning. Thank you so much Actors and Others for Animals!
My six year old cat decided for the first time ever to jump off our balcony. I thought he was okay but he did hurt himself. It caused eating and drinking issues, he wouldn't and he was not peeing or pooping. I am a senior citizen on a very limited budget and not one vet in Houston would let me make payments so they would not treat him. I was hysterical. I saw Betty White on a game show rerun and remembered she had helped to found a group to help animals. I tracked them down. They don't do out of state funding but they had contacts here and guess what? Sparrow got into see a vet. If I ever have any funds that I can spare I will donate to this group. My kitty will be okay and he is never again going on the balcony by himself.
My dog Cami had been sick with infections all over her body for almost 2 yrs. We thought we would have to put her down. We found out she had severe staph infection.
I could not afford the shots for 10 days that were 100.00 a day to save my baby's life. Thank you for assisting me and saving Cami's life. She is now free of any signs of staph.
A&O helped us with our 7 year old Lab Shepherd mix Tux when she had a tumor under her eye lid. We took her to our usual vet but they wanted over 1,200.00 to do the surgery. My wife and I are both self employed and did not have that kind of money to shell out for her. I looked for assistance all over the Internet, submitted several requests for assistance, and the first to reply was A&O. After explaining our situation they recommended that we get a second opinion and referred us to a different vet. Not as close but not too far. After they examined her they quoted us 458.00! That's a huge difference! We were so happy that they steered us in the right direction. But that was not all they did for us. After receiving the new estimate A&O told us that they would pitch in 250.00! Our portion was only 208! WOW! INCREDIBLE! We are so glad for the support and hard work that A&O did for us we have recommended them to all of our pet owner friends and I would recommend them to ANYONE! Thank you A&O! And Tux is now doing great and she thanks you too! WOOF WOOF!
I truly and wholeheartedly believe that Actors & Others For Animals is the best, most caring nonprofit in the world. The intention behind their program is solid - they help those who cannot afford to help themselves. Very rarely do I come across such kindness and devotion to helping those in need, but I've found it with them.
Kona had broken her leg suddenly and I was unable to afford the necessary surgery at such short notice. Vets were charging me over 5k, some even offered around 2k. I simply could not afford it and was heartbroken at the thought of giving Kona up to a non-kill shelter and to someone who could eventually see her surgery through. I had asked many vet clinics if they could assist me with payments/billing, but they would not. Fortunately, Laura called just in time and provided me with a low-cost clinic who would work with my income. I would pay for whatever I could afford (which at that point was very little) and AOA would cover the rest.
Not only was I able to help Kona, but my other two pups were spayed at their expenses. Covered. Kona is happier than ever and it's all thanks to AOA. I am so incredibly thankful for Laura and AOA.
All the love and thanks,
Hazel & Kona
I have an 11 year old kitty, Annie She has always been in great health until this past winter she needed dental surgery The quotes ran from $315-well over $700. I had no idea how I would pay for this.I prayed. A freind told me about organizations that pitch in to help pay for high vet bills.
I called my vet. They said they work with Actors and Others Fro Animals, so I filled out the paperwork on-line exactly as the vet listed the charges. I received a a phone call within maybe a week or a little more that Actors and Others was going to contribute a healthy sum of money to Annie's surgery. I was shocked with delight! Now, it was possible to get her treated and she is doing great! Thank God for people like this organization that work so hard at helping others.
Actors and Others saved Leo’s life...about 2 months ago I noticed that my (4 year old male cat) Leo was clearly bothered by something, he was lethargic and appeared to be so sad so i really kept a close eye on him, especially when he went potty to see if he was having any tummy issues, etc. By the end of the day it was obvious he was having trouble urinating so I did my research and learned about crystals and FLUTD and I took him to a clinic for X-rays that same day and sure enough the vet told me that this was an emergency situation and I needed to get him to an animal hospital ASAP so they could unblock his bladder, which was so swollen and full in the X-rays, it was like 5 times larger than it should be! I was panicking! I didn’t have $1000 for this procedure so I began googling nonprofit organizations and I called Actors and Others and left a detailed message left. BEVERLY called me back and the information she gave me and the vet she recommended saved Leo’s life. Huntington Pet Vet charged me $500 for a $1000 procedure and they are angels on earth. I only had $200 when I took him and when I picked him up 4 days later I owed nothing which meant that Actors and Others donated $300 as well. I can’t thank you enough Beverly, this little guy is my best buddy and I can’t imagine life without him.
My dog Biscuit had been attacked by another dog, and ge reqired some extensive surgery because of the wound and infection. I was not able to afford the total cost. Not only did this awesome charity pay for the amount I could not afford, but they also paid for my puppy to get fixed! This charity is so awesome and they were attentive to my concerns. They were able to find a place same day I contacted them for assistance. Biscuit got his surgery and he is a happy and healthy dog! I cant thank this charity enough for helping me to fix my dog/best friend. As soon as I get extra money I plan to donate to this cause. You guys are AWESOME! thank you so much for all the help. This picture is of my buddy a couple weeks after surgery :)
A friend let me know of Actors and Others for Animals when Romeo my cat became seriously ill. I spoke with Beverly at AOA and Cheryl at the San Gabriel Veterinary Hospital. Beverly was able to arrange to cover the fee for me at this very difficult time, as well as, extend support throughout the process of euthanasia. Repaying the amount of the veterinary fee is important to me. Next I will donate to this wonderful organization and spread the word of the humane work it does. Thank you to Actors and Others for Animals. Clare of Pasadena
I'm a senior on a fixed income and my girl, Stella had an abdominal tumor that had to be removed. I was frantic as to how I was going to be able to pay for it. I luckily found the Kinder 4 Care low income surgery center in North Hollywood but it still was too costly for it to be affordable for me. I discovered "Actor's & Others" and with only 1 phone call they were able to assist me with the expense. They were so lovely. I hope to be able to donate to them in the future. God Bless Them!!
Pepperoni
We call him pep for short. He is a big part of our family. His best friends are a German Shepard and a Pit Bull..he honestly thinks he's a dog. Shhhhhhhhh, i don't have the heart to tell him. Pepperoni got a urinary tract infection, uti and couldn't urinate. We went to the vet, they had a coupon and since i have no income anything helped, as it was i was putting the visit of a friends carecredit card, i had no money. We paid $875 and we're back 2 days later, pepperonis condition worsened his bladder was about to burst. I prayed that God would prevent him from being in pain. Went back to the vet where they put a catheter on pep...but he was going down hill rapidly, I began reaching out to various places, I called 20 agencies, sent countless emails. Only 3 responded back, One of them was Actors and others for animals, Beverly...god bless you, I don't know how much sense i was making, i was beside myself, but Beverly said OK i will call you back, now mind you Pepperoni is now hanging on by a thread, so time is of the essence, Beverly was peps guardian angel that day within hours we got approval to do Pepperonis surgery. He is doing great, he misses his crunches, but very very grateful and happy to be alive. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful we are to Actors and Others for animals, not only did they save peps life they were very easy to work with. God Bless you.
I can't find words to say how thankful I am for everything you guys have done for me and my little daisy. I cry like a baby every time I remember the moment I was about to lose my little girl and I got the miracle call from BEVERLY, while sitting next to my dog crying like no tomorrow and praying for her. I lost her mother due to the same illness a year before but there was no way to save her so imagine what was happening to me the moment I noticed same thing is happening with my other precious girl. About 12am I notice out of nowhere (she was perfectly fine right before all this) she started crying and that second my heart dropped. I check her and noticed she's having the same symptoms as my other precious girl that passed away. I started bursting in tears and at that moment my budget wasn't enough remembering the costs of the surgery and hospital care... I started searching with absolutely no hope but something pushed me to it. I don't remember but somehow I ended up at actors and others site and all I remember is filling something out and sending email or I'm not sure but yet no hope. I took her to the ER and they said her tummy is about to burst but we're not able to do anything so take her to the vet as soon as they open which was few hours later. I was crying hopeless while holding her in my arms and seeing her slowly giving up, while she was looking at me with this super sad/weak look.. that crushed my heartttt and just made me die inside. I get home impatiently waiting for the vet to open while calling million other places to get an idea but I knew I couldn't afford it at the moment so I was slowly giving up as well. Out of nowhere I get a private call, but I had forgotten about actors and others or any sites I have asked help from. I answered and it was AMAZING BEVERLY. This is Gods help I believe. Some faith I have lost in the past, came right back the second she said I'm going to try and help. My prayers were heard. I rushed her to the vet, they ran some tests and said we need to rush the surgery, she might make it. Beverly calls and says she might be able to get me to SAM AND SIMON FOUNDATION to get the surgery going as soon as possible. I called them , left a voicemail (I'm shaking and still crying like a baby thinking they might not have room for an emergency surgery) they called and said "bring her in ASAP" I drove all the way to them rushing there. They took my dog in within 30 minutes (this is already afternoon, I haven't ate or drank a thing, nor slept). During surgery Beverly called me and said she might not make it it was already spread everywhere (the bacteria). I was just begging for them to save her. Hour or 2 later.. she comes out of the surgery ALIVE but super weak. But then I had to figure out how I'm going to afford the costs for the hospital care and if we didn't give her the hospital care, she would die. Again Beverly did everything she could of even it was out of her lead and their budget but she went all the way for my Daisy and to save her precious life. We went that far, we couldn't leave her like that. So she called me back with good news AGAIN!!! The world was mine, I was soooo happy yet weak and shocked because of the blessing and help I got. She stayed at the hospital about a week and then she was all mine again, ALIVE AND WELL. ALL THANKS TO THIS AMAZINGGGGGG Organization. This June will be 1 year. I still praise them for everything they have done and LOTS OF THANKS TO SAM AND SIMON FOUNDATION AS WELL. They saved my little girls life! I love you guys so much!
Actors and Others for Animals,
I'm not much of a writer, so I'll make this short and sweet.
I am single, in my late 60's and live alone with Sandy, my dog, who is a my constant companion.
When Sandy became very ill and required surgery and I was without the funds to pay for the required surgery, Actors and Others for Animals stepped up and helped significantly in paying my very fair invoice from my local and highly recommended Rimforest Animal Hospital in Rimforest, CA.
I cannot thank Actors and Others for Animals enough because Sandy is a very important to me. She is not a mere pet, she is my friend and constant companion.
I have benefited greatly by the assistance from Actors and Others for Animals and their benefactors should know how their donations have had such a positive result. It should also be noted that the request for help process was simple and the response time incredibly fast, which was also very important in my situation.
Thanks again Actors and Others for Animals for helping me keep Sandy well,
RJB
I thank the heavens for Actors & Others for without their financial help my Mary's gum infection would have quickly gotten worse. They truly care about animals and their desire to help care for them is amazing. God bless this organization for without their help so many of us would be unable to get our sick puppies well.
Picture below is Matthew with his puppy Buddy and Buddy's brother (our family's dog) Moose. Moose and Buddy are 10 y.o. Buddy had been needing some serious dental work. It had developed into an infection in need of urgent care. I do my best to foster Buddy whenever Matt needs help. Buddy spends the night with us at times and comes inside to eat/drink and rest at other times. We have an extended family of pets in need of constant booster shots and vet visits. We didn't have anything left for Matthew and Buddy. We heard about Actors and Others for Animals from two different sources and decided it might actually be worth a try. Funny how you can get into trouble for not treating your pets. But when you go to the shelters and ask for help they straight up turn you away. Though the Burbank shelter did tells us about this organization. For that we are forever grateful. Buddy received his care in a timely manner from when we applied for help. Buddy is doing great. He's so much happier being pain free. Matthew has been homeless almost 3 years. Buddy is the most important being in his life. Matthew, Buddy and I all thank Actors and Others for Animals for their phenomenal charity. Peace, Sherry S.
P.S. The great vet work was done by North Figueroa Animal Hospital
My poodle is 10 years old and I noticed that she would not eat at times and she had this bad odor coming from her mouth. I noticed that her teeth were loose and her gums looks horrible. Then I noticed that her teeth were falling out. I was so upset. My first thought was do I put her to sleep because I am on a fixed income and did not think that I could have her medically taken care of. I was referred to ACTORS AND OTHERS to see if they could help me. When I spoke with Beverly she made me feel so much better about the situation. She told me that they would help me take care of my Sasha. This organization is a lifesaver. The procedure was done, poor sasha had to have all of her teeth removed. But she is back to herself and she is eating a lot better. I cannot tell you how happy I and Sasha are. This organization is a BLESSING.
Actors and Others helped us at a crucial time for he dog we rescued, MiMi. We found MiMi while on for work. We found her wondering the streets in the cold going thru turned over trash cans looking for food. She was limping, extremely thin, and shivering. We got out of our work truck and called her over and she waged her tail and slowly limped over to us. Upon further inspection she was covered in fleas, had rotten teeth, a horrible oral infection, and had several large masses over her body which were bleeding. If it was not for Actors and Others we would not have been able to afford MiMi's surgeries on our own. Five months later she has become a permanent paw-mily member and has gained weigh, and is extremely active. She loves to play and hobble around our backyard. If MiMi had thumbs and could talk she would sing Actors and Others praises. Thank you for what you do!!! You helped us save MiMi!!!
From my first text I sent about my sweet Boss until the first return text and call was almost immediate! I was so stunned and appreciative that Actors & Others really got back to me!! They told me where to take Boss and how to obtain an estimate for his care (low and high), which I did. When I called Beverly with the estimate, she at once, without hesitation, pledged a certain amount and gave me another name, Kathy, to leave a specific message with as soon as surgery was set. I did as she told me. Kathy is extremely busy helping many pet owners but she still managed to get back to me before Boss's surgery and after reviewing the situation with me on the phone, she pledged to cover whatever the remaining balance was on his bill!! I was, and am, overwhelmed with this fantastic nonprofit organization!! I personally called both these women and left messages if thanks which I hope they did receive. Please help fund this wonderful provision to help pet owners like me who love their babies, but who may be temporarily in a bad financial situation. They are our 'children' and without the help we receive, they would be gone. Thank all of you from the bottom of my heart!!! Please, please donate!!! Thank you.
My beautiful loving blue eyed pit, Chico, was attacked by three dogs. They had tore a hole behind his right front leg. I was told by one of the vet techs that they could put their hand in the hole and nearly touch his sholdera. I had initially taken him to one of those 24 hour pet hospitals; however, just to be medicated over night it would be nearly $300. At the time I didn't have the funds and wasn't able to get approved for a credit to get him the care he needed. I was far from ok with putting him to sleep either.
I had gone home with Chico wrapped up in a blanket and did what I could to care to his wounds. I had posted something on my Facebook about what happened and a friend of mine let me know about the Actors and Others organization. I had placed a call to the number I found on their website and they told me where to take him and they would help with getting him care.
It was like a gift from God himself because Chico's wound had bursted open. We rushed him to the Arrowhead Animal Hospital in San Bernardino just in time.
Every day I look at him happily playing around like he was a little puppy ( he is nearly 10 years old now) brings me sheer happiness. If it wasn't for the amazing people from Actors and Others this wouldn't be possible.
Our dog, Harley, had not been eating well and was not quite his usual energetic self, and we discovered that he had severe gum disease. There was a significant amount of infection, and left untreated Harley would continue to feel poorly and the infection would only get worse and continue to spread. We were told that the surgery needed would cost around $600. We are a family of 7 living on a single, non-profit income, and we simply didn't have the money to get Harley taken care of. Our hearts were broken at the thought of having to give Harley up in order to get him the treatment needed, so we contacted Actors and Others for Animals as well as another program through our county animal services. Between these two organizations, the cost of Harley's surgery ended up being completely covered, and he is now healthy and back to his usual happy self! We are so grateful to Actors and Others for Animals for helping make it possible to get Harley the care he needed!
My sweet little dog Pepper was a gift from the shelter. They said she was healthy except for a little tartar on her teeth. When I took her to the vet it turned out she had a truckload of infected teeth and I didn't know how I could possibly pay for the treatment. He said it could affect her heart, so I knew I hd to help her. Actors and Others offered to help me pay, and both Pepper and I are thankful. I am an old disabled lady but I need to take care of my dog and it was wonderful to get help from this kind organization.
This was our sweet Kiki, she had a tumor and we couldn't afford the surgery, as we had serious health issues as well, actors and others came to our rescue! We knew her situation was dire and we were able to enjoy more time with her as our pet. She was a seriously abused rescue and it took many years for her to trust us, eventually she allowed us to pet and hold her, she will be missed but our many thanks and gratitude go out to the organization that made it possible for us to extend a life that meant so much to us. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
The Lane family

Our cat managed to swallow a needle a few weeks ago. After going the normal route and spending approximately $3000 we were out of options. We had exhausted the vast majority of our savings and thought we would have to put our cat down since everywhere else was quoting approximately $2500 - $5000 for surgery. Luckily, we called Beverly who sent us to a vet who quoted us at $800. I couldn't believe it. Turns out, the total charge was $380. Beverly saved our cat who is now running around and being himself. Talk about a lucky break. Thanks to this charity, you really made a wonderful difference and saved us from a ton of heartache.
My Harley had a cyst burst on the side of his neck . I picked him out the day he was born. He is now 12 . Actors and others came to his rescue and helped me with the cost of his surgery. If not for them I don't want to think about what could of happened . He is home and a very spoiled happy boy. Thank you from the depth of my heart actors and others !!
Our dog Rose was diagnosed with a closed pyometra, the diagnosis alone cost us over 650 dollars. We were told the surgery would be at least 3 thousand. Beverly called me back that very night when I applied. Not only did they find me a better location they helped with the majority of the cost. Thanks the this amazing charity our best friend rose gets to be with the family for many more years. The most amazing charity i have ever seen in action.
I talked to Beverly from actors and other animals about my cat Oreo. She gave me places to call to receive help to have his teeth pulled. She was very helpful and sweet. I could not afford his surgery and with her help and orhers I was able to get him his surgery I would recommend them to everyone.
you know the story. a friend in need is a friend in deed. when faced with my emergency, a senior dog attacked all I wanted was grandma to get help. actors and other stepped up, not only with money but compassion. every conversation with Beverly was talking with friend. offering advice and over the phone someone to lean on. grandma had her surgery and its healing well. I hope I can have her love as long as possible....A&O THANK YOU SO MUCH
KIWI before actor's and others my little dog had been in unbarable pain due to bad gums. We never realized she was in such pain. She has keept this odor to her. We all assume it was do to her swilling her food whole and continually picking around her mouth. For about 2 years this went on. We figured the pain she did show at times come from her hip. When Kiwi was a puppy we rescued her from a puppy mill. She wasnt wanted and was going to be left on a street corner at 2months old. She during her time at the puppy mill was abused. Well we finally saw no matter what we did and bought kiwi to and in pain relief nothing worked. We found a low cost clinic and took her. At that time we were told kiwi need surgery to remove to real real bad teeth. At the time kiwi was a dog who shyed away from others, was very scared and would always be shaky. She would hide under the bed and never played with the other dogs. She never chewed her food swallowed her food whole. She had a small that no matter how many baths we would give her would take this small away. When we were informed of the cost of surgery we were devasted we didnt have $600 for the doctor. For one day and a half I stood searching for a program to help. I called every program I ran across every one wouldn't help because it was dental. Then I had filled out an application to Actor and Others. That same day they called and by the next day KIWI was going for her blood work and right the next day she went into surgery. Now Kiwi is a viberant dog full of life. She no lo get hides or shys away from people. She smells good looks happy pain free and we owe it all to Actors and Others and to the ones who donate to this life saving miracle making program. A big thanks from Kiwi to everyone at and everyone who helps Actors and Others stay in operation to help animals in need.
ANGELS.... Is only one of the good things I can say about this organization. My sweet 5 year old blue pit Isis had a very bad injured toe, and needed an amputation. We had been fighting this infection for months, I am currently off work due to a neck injury and had literally exhausted my savings trying to save her toe. Our original vet referred me to a clinic, that referred me to Actors and Others. The lady who I spoke with was so kind and compassionate. I was so upset and honestly was afraid I would have to put my girl down. I could not believe when I was told that they would take care of half of our vet bill for the procedure. I can't say enough about this wonderful organization, and the lady who runs it! Thanks to them my girl is back to her old spoiled happy self! I thank God for this place and the Angel who runs it!
It was a normal regular day as always I came home from school and was about to start eating dinner, when I was started hearing a lot of barking in my backyard. I then went outside to bring roxy back inside and into my room when I noticed she was no where to be found, I noticed a hole she had dug in the back door neighbors house. the neighbor quickly called me over and had appolgize and said my dog was attacked by her 3 big dogs. the pain and blood dripping I saw on roxys face was heart breaking. I rushed her to the vet and treated her well and as soon as they could. A couple days has passed by and roxy was starting to look like herself again, suffering with bruises and scratches some stitches and a broken rib. When I found out how much the vet was charging me I was out of money and needed the help, when I found out about Actors & Others for Animals by my vet, I quickly got the help I needed and I appreciate it all so very much. Best service ever, I TRUELY recommend it if you are in need of a helping hand. Thank you so much for the help!
I have been contributing to Actors & Others for Animals for many years, but have never needed to ask for their help for myself until recently. After getting my 2 year old cat's teeth cleaned, I was told she needed to have a bad tooth pulled. I was quoted two prices for this procedure: the lowest was $769 and the highest was $1,493. After I recovered from the shock of this, I started to think about where I could get another reference and quote. Thankfully, I thought to contact Actors & Others and was told about the Sharp Pet Hospital. I called and was immediately able to get an appointment. As it turned out, not only were those estimates way out of line, but my cat doesn't need any dental work at this time. I am very grateful to Actors & Others for Animals and the Sharp Pet Hospital.
My rescued cat, Ruby, needed all of her teeth removed Because the surgery is expensive, our vet's assistant told me about Actors and Others and suggested I contact them and submit an application for financial help. The lady I talked to, Beverly, explained how they determine eligibility, etc. and told me I would be hearing from them, one way or the other. As things turned out, They were able to help me not only with the cost of the surgery for Ruby, but also the cost to neuter a male kitten that I have rescued. Since I am on disability, this was the most wonderful thing! Thank you so much and thank all of you who donate to help me and other pet lovers who due to circumstances, cannot afford the cost of veterinary care.
I recently discovered a stray cat with a lump on its neck. After examination at Huntington Pet Vet, it was found the cat also had several decayed teeth. I had a dilemma – how to pay for these services. Because of my limited income, I was referred to Actors and Others for a possible donation. It was very difficult for me to ask for help – and I had trouble swallowing that false pride. I got on-line and filed an application. Within a very short time, I received a call from Beverly, who showed compassion and understanding as I “made my case”. When a list of charges was issued by the vet, Beverly agreed to a donation that allowed a balance that I could cover. I was overcome with gratitude. Because of Animals and Others, a beautiful creature continues to explore with renewed energy and without pain. Actors and Others has given this gift, and our neighbourhood thanks you, indeed.
Marie Thompson

Thank you so much for your much needed financial help for our dog Sammy. I'm a disabled. Senior and I'm also raising a grandaughter, the last of three that I've raised actually. Also taken in many animals and kept them all in till they grew old and died
I've worked very hard over the years in till I became disabled. By then all savings had been used up My grandaughter and I have to live on a very small income we also have two more dogs and two more cats all throwaways. Sammy was very ill and because of your most needed help. Sammy got the proper help from a good vet and l'm very thankfull for that Thank you again so much Also I 'd like to thank all those who so kindly donate funds to actors and others which make it possible for low income people like me to obtain proper much needed care for their beloved pets. -JC
Buddha the dog and I want to thank Actors and Others for Animals who very generously contributed to the cost of his surgery. Buddha was diagnosed with two very large tumors on his right rear leg. They were making walking more and more difficult for him and would shortly be inoperable. Now this dog is full of spirit and we all wanted his life to be long and fruitful. I didn't have the funds for such an operation so the Veterinary Hospital gave me the name of Beverly at Actors and Others. As it turned out the two tumors were actually one giant tumor that had grown throughout the leg. A difficult surgery to be sure. Buddha was in good hands, however, and his surgery put him back on all four legs and running. Beverly was a tremendous help during this entire situation and I will never forget her kindness. I could never have given Buddha this operation were it not for the contributions. I am very grateful for all those people who help others whose animal friends are in need.
Hello Everyone,
I would like to " Thank everyone" from Actors & Others from the bottom of heart and also for "Buddy." Without your assistance it would of not been possible for me to get the medical attention needed for my 12 1/2 year old German Shepard who's name is "Buddy." Again, thank you and also much thanks to the Doctor & Blanca at "All Pets Medical Clinic!"
Patti & Buddy Torrez
I would like to send a HUGE Thank You to a woman named BEVERLY.!. On July 9th, my son Messiah broke his leg while jumping over a baby gate to try and get into another room. As he landed, he landed wrong and broke his leg right past his wrist. I called everywhere trying to get help and or even a lead on where to go or call and only one person called me back and actually helped me and that was Beverly! Without her my son Messiah would have not got the surgery at the lowest cost possible! She knew exactly where to send me to get the best care at the best price. It may have been a ways away at the Ontario Spay and Neuter Hospital but I would drive anywhere to get his surgery done the right way. Also with Beverly's donation I would not have made my goal to get his surgery done on time! He got his surgery on July 19th at Ontario Spay and Neuter. Messiah and I thank you greatly for what you have done for us!
Dear Actors and Others,
My name is Riv, and I am an almost 14 year old domestic medium hair cat. I got really sick about 8 weeks ago, and could not pass my poo, and I lost almost 50% of my body weight. My mommy took me several times to my doctor, and other doctors too, but they just couldn't figure out what was happening.
I had surgery on 9/11 and we found out what the problem was. Somehow I found an artificial plant with Styrofoam berries and ate some of the material. Anyway, I was really backed up, and had a nasty constriction, so my doctor removed that and all the stuff that was in my small intestine.
Since mommy couldn't afford to pay for all of my surgery, she turned to Actors and Others to see if they could help. Thank you Actors and Others and Miss Beverly for helping to save my life.
If anyone else needs help, and they ask mommy who should they turn to, we will both tell them about you. You worked a miracle when no one else was able to help
With much love,
A very grateful Riv
PS: This is Riv's "mommy". I can't thank Actors and Others enough. Without the help and support that Beverly extended, this would have had a very different outcome. To Beverly and everyone associated with Actors and Others,a great big THANK YOU.
Actor's & Other's for Animals helped me pay to have my Layla put down to sleep due to her spinal cord injury. And she is no longer suffering I am thankful for this program, they were very helpful, caring & compassionate for us. The call return was fast I was shocked. I greatly appreciate your generosity. Thanks, especially to Beverly
I have an 11 yr old chihuahua mix that has been no stranger to our veterinarian. He suffers from seizures and arthritis and is on medication regularly for this. A product of overbreeding, not by me, has caused his teeth to rot and he started growing warts as he's aged. Puss pockets in his teeth were causing pain and gingivitis. For unknown reasons he started chewing his warts and causing infections. I am on permanent disability and with his regular medical checks and my daily living I couldn't afford the surgery needed to care for him. Actors and Others pledged $250 toward my bill. They called me back in 24 hrs. This group legitimately cared for the wellbeing of my baby.
Our dog Cairo dislocated his knee cap and tore a ligament while chasing a ball. We were told by our vet that it would be more than $3,000 to operate and for follow-up. We contacted Actors and Others and were able to refer us to a specialist who not only knew more but was also much more reasonable with the fees. It ended up costing $1,600 with actors and others helping out with $400. I don't know what we would have done without Beverly at Actors and Others advising us with kindness and empathy. Cairo is now running around again, happy to be chasing balls.
My 6 year old dachshund 'Sparky' got attacked by a stray dog. He had his jaw broken and the surgery cost was too much for me. I sought out for help from many foundations and organizations but Actors and Others were the only one who really helped. Thanks to Actors and Others Sparky got his surgery done and is on his way to recuperation. Thank you so much!
Having rescued a cat my neighbor left behind, I notice that he has an eye infection. I tried to alleviate it by giving him antibiotics, but no results. I knew it was necessary to take him to the vet, but I just had taken my old cats with liver and kidney disease to have blood tests, so I was short of cash. Unfortunately, it could not wait. When we got to the vet, he needed to operate right away since the eye was in a bad condition, the eye socket was almost out and the eye was very infected. The surgery was expensive for me, even with the discounted price they gave me. I had some money but not enough. The cat also needed to be neuter, . That is why I called Actors and Others for some assistance. Not only they helped financially but they also gave me a piece of mind so I could be focus on what was important in that moment--the cat. Stripes came out with flying colors from the surgery; he still needed to be in antibiotics to fight the infection. It took three weeks for him to recuperate and although he lost one eye, he is getting used to see with one eye. Every night he looks for his cozy bed and curls up looking at me like saying Thank you! It is Actors and Others the ones that deserve a big Thank you. Their kindness, their assistance and their concern for Stripes made it so much easier for me. I am forever grateful for giving me a hand when I most needed. Stripes and I thank you one more time.
Our dog Boxer suddenly had become paralyzed due to a slipped disk in his back. His back legs were no longer functioning and he was unable to use them at all. He was just dragging himself around the house. It was so sad. I reached out to a few different places to get a procedure paid for where the vet would try later treatments in our dog to see if it would help. It is a safer and cheaper alternative to the surgery. So Actors and Others was awesome! They got back to me right away about the case and were very concerned about our dog and us. Within a day we had some money out toward the procedure from Actors and Others! Our dog has fully recovered the use of his legs!!! He is walking and so so happy. I am so grateful for Actors and Others and the help they offered.
My name is theresa , I have recently found myself at the bottom of the barrel having literally lost everything I ever had except my truck and my best friend in the world Gracie. She had her first heat not long ago and despite my best efforts to keep her separated, she became pregnant with a litter of great Dane puppies. My Gracie is a small Staffordshire terrier pitbull, and is in no way built to handle a litter from a breed of that size. Imagine my terror realizing that the only one I had left in this world, my best friend and my family was going to die, and I had no means to prevent it. No money for needed veterinary care and no way to get the money. Imagine knowing that there was a way to save the life of the person who means the most to you, and having it be. Just out of your reach. Thankfully I remembered what my sweet Grammy had told me long ago about her beloved Betty White promoting a place called Actors and Others for Animals. So I quickly contacted them and filled out their online application for assistance, and to my amazement they responded not within days, but WITHIN MERE HOURS!!! 2 days later I was picking up my Gracie from the vets office! Although she was very scared as she had never been away from me since the day she had come into my life, she was also very much alive and on her way back to being the happy and healthy canine companion who has honestly been my only reason to keep going. If it had not been for a sweet woman I know only as Beverly @ Actors and Others, and the people she entreaties to help us at the Ruff irg. And Ontario spay and nueter, there is no doubt that I would have lost my best friend and my life would be forever devastated with that loss. I cannot express my thanks enough to convey the depth of my gratitude to Beverly and all of the unknown paticipents in my personal miricle. These selfless giving souls gave me back my friend, they are the godsend that I so needed in my time of desperation.
Thankfully,
Theresa F. And Gracie Girl
Beverly and AAOFA have been fantastic with Morgan! He is a neighborhood garage dog that needs a better life and some surgery. Not only did Beverly recommend the perfect vet, but AAOFA also contributed to Morgan's surgery fund! They are truly angels. Thanks For everything:).
My husband and I are so grateful to actors and others for their help with the surgery that saved my puggle "chewie's" eyes. He had a mass growing on one eye and when we took him to the 2nd vet he finally found the one on his other eye, he also had a mass growing on his gum that would have soon stopped him from eating right. The animal medical center did the surgery for a very low price and they accept actors and others. Thank you Lord for non-profit groups like actors and others!!! SINCERELY!!!! RON &MARIA MAXEY
I was very happy to get a pledge for my dog Jo Jo to get spayed over at The Spay & Neuter Project LA in Van Nuys. They also told me about two other non-profits who agreed to help me with a pledge for the surgery. They were very kind and caring over the phone, and my pledge was over at the location on the day of the surgery. Thank you so much!
My little Chihuahua-mix "Minnie" needed orthopedic surgery on her back leg and Beverly of "Actors and Others for Animals" helped us find an excellent surgeon in my area. They also contributed to help cover the cost. This surgery is going to help Minnie live a long and mobile life. All of my dogs are rescues and they have been through some rough times. It's really great to have an organization like "Actors and Others For Animals" for information, referrals and financial assistance.
I want to thank everyone involved with Actors and Others, along with all those who support and donate to Actors and Others Foundation. They helped us pay a portion of the cost of Tila's Operation. Thank you so much from the bottoms of our heart we are so grateful to Actors and Others.
Many blessing to Actors and Others.
I owe Actors & others a huge thank you , I didn't believe that they would actually reach out to help me but they did and when they did it was a miracle I felt as if god answered my prayers. I'm only 18 years old and my dog was on the urge of life and death. My options were either to put him to sleep or pay the bill. I was so stressed out because I couldn't afford the bill but I didn't have the heart to take his life away so I took a chance on Actors and Others . So thank you Actors and Others and to who who Donates because u truely are saving lives and helping us out so thank you so much it's very much appreciated.
Thank you for your help with our beloved Sheltie, Lancelot!
Extraordinary times take extraordinary angels!
Your organization and its angel donors are just such heroes.
Thank you for helping us with the surgery our beloved Shetland sheepdog, Lancelot, needed recently.
Lancelot is 8 years old. We’ve loved him since he came into our lives at 11 weeks old. My son is a single child of a single parent and Lancelot is his beloved pet.
We’ve never needed help with caring for our Lancelot until now. So we want to thank you so much for your gracious assistance.
Peace and Blessings,
Glenna and Matthew
My doggie Crickett got diabetes and pancreatitis, both recently, and Actors and Others came through to help on both counts. Their generosity lessened the burden on me being a senior, disabled and low income. The help saved the little fellow, who is happy right now at home!
As an organization that provides veterinary subsidies to senior citizens, low income families, ill or disabled individuals, and families that are experiencing financial hardship, Actors and Others for Animals assists thousands of individuals each year with their animal care needs. With a fundamental mission of ending the tragedy of pet overpopulation, A & O is stemming the tide of unwanted animals entering the California public shelters, thereby reducing euthanasia statistics dramatically. Founded more than three decades ago, the organization is at the forefront of legislation to protect animals of every breed and species.
Holly was fighting for her life in critical care with kidney damage, probably due to shock...
We found our cat Holly lying motionless in the yard. We heard dogs barking, but we did not see an attack. We do not know what happened, but the vet thinks the distress, and maybe a dog stepping on her when she froze sent her into shock, and she needed time for her kidneys to recover. She was on IV fluids and meds in critical condition. We rescued her fall of 2004, and she has been the sweetest most amazing cat ever. A total sweetheart, in the wrong place at the wrong time, and we felt terrible about it. We would not have been able to continue her care and treatment at the hospital without the help of Actors and Animals for Animals, because we were running out of funds. Their donation allowed Holly to stay at the hospital and receive the treatment she needed to save her life. Thank you so much for your help to save Holly!!!!
My name is Jonimae and Actors and Others for Animals helped me spayed and neutered both my dogs Jojo and Lulu. Without their help, it would take me a long time to get them neutered/spayed and I would probably have to give up my Jojo who I rescued from the street.
I am more at ease knowing that the two dogs will live a healthier life. The clinic that they sent me (pet doctors of industry) was an awesome clinic.
Thank you much.
my name is jamie stanton and i have a cat that is 9 years of age. she is very important to me and my family and she for the first time has gotten sick and i have not got the funds at all to help her. i then searched the internet and found actors and others and filled out the application. within not even an hour they called me and set me up a place to take my kitty and then payed for her visit and so much more and it is something that i never thought could happen. i am so grateful for them and all the people who have donated their time money and efforts to help the animals that need it and the people that own the pets. They are great people and i hope to help them out in the same way they helped me and my pet in the future. thank u actors and others
I am disabled and my service dog and I were working with children in orphanages in Mexico, when she fell off the bed and broke her leg, which apparently was quite serious and needed an operation. The operation needed to be done sooner then later or they could have to amputate the leg. We flew back to Los Angeles right away, where we met with my vet, who confirmed the seriousness of the injury. The vet recommended a specialist, who quoted $6000 for the operation. As with most people, money is an issue and I looked for someone less expensive but the average price was $4000. Finally a friend told me of a vet in Idaho, who was the best at this surgery but it was a 14 hour drive. Armed with determination, I drove the 14 hours and had a successful surgery for about $2000. It was then that I remembered Actors and Others for Animals from years ago when I witnessed a dog hit by a car and received financial aid from them. I went on line and shared my story and within 48 hours I received a personal telephone call from a representative who said to me, "Did you really drive 14 hours to a vet?" I replied, "Yes" as I was not able to afford the vet in Los Angeles. Amazed by my determination, Actors & Others for Animals came through again and helped with with the vet bill. I can't speak HIGHLY enough of this organization and what they do for those who are subject to such high vet prices only so that they can keep those that they love, our pets, alive.
I have to say that Actors in Other's surpassed my expectations than many when asking for help in a situation where I had almost given up. I contacted them on a Saturday after going to the Humane Society who surprisingly was very expensive for surgery and meds for my mom's dog Precious. . I received a call early Monday morning from Beverly who was so compassionate and understanding she quickly gave me another veterinarian for a second opinion & assured me their prices were very reasonable. Before I can even secure an appointment for the surgery Beverly had already got her very kind donors to provide me with $309 dollars for the surgery which was greatly appreciated by my entire family and precious siblings. Thank you actors & o from the bottom of our hearts♥♥♥♥♥! ( so sorry about resubmitting this, your website is a challenge on a mobile phone!)
I'm a psychologist/artist used to helping other people. However, after I was partially downsized, chronically ill and my employer dumped all of my benefits including health insurance, I was the one who needed to reach out for help. I have a 16 yo rescue dog with bad liver values. Cookie needed an expensive liver ultrasound. This group helped fund the cost for this diagnostic procedure. Actors and Others came through for Cookie when I really didn't think anyone would! This may seem silly, but this dog is my BFF. Sometimes, pets are the best therapy. Sometimes, agencies like A and O are invaluable.
Bless ALL of the people who have donated to this organization. It's so important to help those who otherwise couldn't afford to help their pets. My dog, Toby, got sick and I couldn't afford to take him to a vet. He was 11, and I'd had him since he was a pup. It was killing me that he was suffering and I couldn't afford to do anything about it. I was helpless, distraught, truly tortured by his pain. Finally I realized that I would have to try to give him up, to someone who could afford to care for him. I started calling for advice, looking for some humanitarian group who might be able to help my poor animal in his time of pain and crisis. Actors and Others for Animals stepped right up to help. They paid for a vet to evaluate him, and for a shot, his last chance. The drugs gave him one last good week of life, for which we'll always be grateful. Finally, when it was time, they saw to the cost of euthanization and disposal. I can't say enough how important their help was. It was truly life changing. I was so stressed that I almost collapsed when I heard the reassuring voice on the phone that I could take him to a vet and they would cover the costs. On top of it all, the vet they referred me to was so good, that I've already been sending him clients. Great service, great organization, great people. Thank you SO MUCH!!!

In June 2012, I contacted Actors & Others for Animals when my twelve year old dog Duste needed to have his teeth cleaned. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, and I live alone with my dog who had bladder stones removed the month before. I was told that his urinary tract infection may have led to the stone formation, and that teeth in need of cleaning can be a source of this infection. Having no other resources, I reached out, and thanks to their willingness to help, I was able to have the teeth cleaning done. Duste's teeth look healthy now, and he is able to chew more easily. I thank Actors & Others for Animals for their dedication to the welfare of animals.
I feed, vaccinate and take care of anyone's pet that needs it. Including spaying/neutering. I normally only have one or 2 animals fixed at a time, so, I don't ask for financial assistance because I go to the local humane society because they don't cost as much. This time I'm fixing 7 dogs at a time and I'll be fixing a cat in the near future. I had all the dates set, but I just didn't think I could do the nearly $600 it was going to cost. That included surgery, rabies shot and expected extra costs for one of them. I of course cannot administer rabies because that has to be done by a licensed veterinarian. Anyway, I just didn't think June would be a month I could afford it and called to reschedule the appts. and the receptionist suggested three charities that could help. I figured if I could just get $10 per dog from each charity I'd cut my cost in half. So, I emailed actors and others and then called Monday because I know they've got to be swamped all the time, most animal organizations are, and the lady I spoke to was very nice. I didn't give her a chance to offer more than $10 per dog and she was nice to give it to me. Later the same day Beverly called me in response to my email and I told her I'd already spoke to someone and she'd pledge $10 per dog for me. Beverly and I argued for a few minutes about why I wasn't asking for more than that since they weren't my own pets and because on top of their medical needs I typically take care of daily needs for these animals. In the end she pledged $30 per dog. I could't believe! I told her starting in July I will return the favor by setting up a monthly donation of my own.

We had just lost our home to foreclosure and we have a cat who has diabetes that was raging out of control. We spent every dime we had on her, and we maxed out every form of credit we could get our hands on, but her hospitalization and treatment added up very quickly. We asked all the cat sanctuaries and one of their first recommendations was Actors and Others. I contacted them and got a response almost immediately, and the women I spoke to were kind, understanding, and reassuring when I was panicking. They sent me to a wonderful vet who I will always bring my cat to, and they gave us hope and support when we needed it most. Thank god for organizations like Actors and Others.

The woman I just spoke to was very rude and not helpful when I told her there was a cat in need that had been abandoned by it's owner. She said it was my responsibility to NOT take it to the animal shelter, and then she hung up on me! Sorry, but that is not charity for me! I had called to help this cat, to see if there was any other way other than the shelter. Maybe she was having a very bad day, but it looks bad for their "charity." If they are not helping the public like me, then where is their money going?

I am disabled, and live on a very limited income. My apartment was flooded by my upstairs neighbor and my companion pet, got VERY sick. He is my best friend, the only other I speak to on a regular basis. My illness confines me to my room, from a brain injury that occured from chemo therapy many years ago,I am AGORAPHOBIC. When my unusual companion, an Umbrella Cockatoo needed medical help, I reached out to Actors and Others for Animals. They made many calls on our behalf, and found a vet and technician to come to our room to help him. He had gotten a fungal infection in his lungs from the mold after the flood...Without their help, TUTU woiuld have died! I could not help him, I could barely speak and going outside almost impossible, but I did for TU!
Actors and others for Animals helped financially as well as with their continued support I recieve from them, There are no words that can express what my heart feels.
they were very responsive and prompt in helping out with a major surgery expense on one of my pets. There help financially softened the blow for myself and allowed my special pet to be herself finally. Thank you so much Actors and others for your caring and generous donation towards the surgery, it is greatly appreciated. Dennis
Over the years, I have personally hosted several presentations offered by this organization at my library. By incorporating an entertaining educational approach, a representative shares with children information about dogs, cats and safety around animals. Audience members come away with life-saving information. For example, children learn safety tips when approaching strange dogs. I recommend this presentation for any organization committed to educating the public about proper pet care and safety.
Thank you Actors and Others for Animals for 40 years of advocacy for animals! You provide guidance, resources, financial aid for low-income animal lovers, humane education for youth and coordinate pet therapy animals into care facilities where a wagging tail and a few woofs provide valuable comfort. You have greatly helped my efforts for Trap, Neuter and Release of feral cats throughout the years.
My Mother, Dr. Joyce Miller and I have many times benefited from the support and guidance of your wonderful office staff. We believe in Actors and Others for Animals- so much so we have helped raise funds for your continuous efforts for many years.
You recently launched www.spaycalifornia.org which supplies a state-wide referral network/database that provides low cost spay/neuter info - you are always on the front lines.
There are a lot of grateful animals and their humans who send woofs and meows in praise of Actors and Others for Animals!

Well, I could go on and on but I'll try to make this short. I live up here in Lancaster and am probably known as "that house" on the block because we're the family who feeds the stray cats who come and go. There is always a bowl of food on the patio for them and, once I get them to trust me, I snatch'em up to get them fixed!! I don't have the money for this, but I just feel like SOMEONE has to. Since I DO have a giant back yard, I'd rather seem them feed, fixed, and safe than wandering the streets making more babies. The people at Actors and Others have been SO SUPER GREAT in providing me with vouchers to make the animal clinic visits affordable to me. I seriously could never have helped as many cats as I have without them. Not only that, Pitsa hooked me up with some local phone numbers of people who can help me trap the ones who are just too ferral to bait with food. There are three cats in the yard now whose turn is coming. I wouldn't even be able to consider fixing all three of these newbies without this nonprofit sending the clinic vouchers. Vouchers that more than cuts the cost in half. I wish there was some way that I could pay them back with money, but all I can do is feel blessed to have found them and do what I can to let people know how special they are to us "not so rich" families who really do need assistance and are trying to do the right thing. Thanks for reading! - Kelly and Michele, Lancaster
This wonderful organization was started way back in the early 70's as a result of a horrific incident on a Freeway in Los Angeles when actor Richard Basehart and his wife witnessed a dog being thrown out of a car window into the traffic. Then and there, they decided that something had to be done within the Hollywood community to ensure that this would never happen again and there would be a place for animal rescue, training, neutering, etc. I/we have been donors, volunteers, witnesses, and supporters of AOA for over 30 years. The staff and volunteers of Actors and Others have provided every service possible to the Los Angeles community and the surrounding areas with unquestionable dedication. They are the epitome of dedication for the welfare of our pets. Susan Taylor, Executive Director and Jo Anne Worley the existing President, with all staff, volunteers and wonderful Board Members continue the caring tradition of Actors and Others for Animals. I/we are so very proud to be a part of this organization. We are Mark Blonstein and Don Faircloth

I work as an animal trainer for television and film. I had heard of this organization and the wonderful work they do to provide funds for pet owners that may not have the money to pay for their pets surgeries. I also learned about the pet therapy program and got three retired movie dogs certified to do visitations at the Veterans Hospital.
Everyone at Actors and Others for Animals is so supportive and committed to the pet therapy program, that I have recruited other pet owners to come on board.
I've volunteered at the Actors & Others benefits and events, and have been delighted at every turn by both the warmth and generosity of the people who staff and volunteer for them (including some FOUNDERS who are still dedicated to it decades later), and also by the great work they've done and continued to do.
Plus, the Hollywood celebrity connections make their events always surprising and engaging - last year's Betty White tribute was hilarious! And all the more poignant hearing the stories of Betty's dedication to her retriever, Pontiac.
After finding Bailey on the street in the winter of 2010, I quickly became aware of his gentle nature and effect on myself and everyone we met. One day at the dog park, I learned about Actors & Others For Animals and contacted Stephanie about Bailey possibly becoming a Therapy Dog. She was wonderful and informative! Bailey first had to pass a 6-week beginner dog training class, and after he completed that, he was brought to the Actors & Others For Animals office for an evaluation. They loved him! He has a great combination of energy and gentleness, so he's both energetic and calm. He is not bothered by loud noises or crutches/walkers, adapts well to new environments, and is very good with strangers. Stephanie got us in touch with the Sherman Oaks Hospital patient activity co-ordinator, and after I filled out the proper volunteer forms, and completed the other volunteer requirements, she and another Pet Therapy volunteer escorted Bailey and I around the hospital for our first visit. It was great! Among the many patients we visited, one that truly stood out was an elderly blind woman who laughed like a young girl when I picked Bailey up to meet her and he licked her nose! How sweet! Thank you Stephanie and Actors & Others For Animals for this opportunity to volunteer with your Pet Therapy program! ~ Monica & Bailey ~ : )

"Actors and Others for Animals" has filled a need in my dog’s and in my own life, while allowing us to have a positive impact on the lives of others.
Their Pet Therapy Program and its skillful volunteer coordinator make volunteering easy and so fulfilling.
My dog, Perry, has a very strong work ethic and was constantly searching for his "job". I was perfectly happy with his companionship, but he needed more.
One day I stumbled upon information about the "Actors and Others for Animals" Pet Therapy Program. It was a perfect fit.
Perry delights in greeting his friends, collecting smiles, doing tricks and generally basking in attention but he never seems to forget that it’s about making the patients feel better. Sometimes that means just lying quietly with them or giving them a reason to stretch out their hand and pet him.
I’m grateful the Actors and Others for Animals Program lets us do this.
I have been volunteering for Actors and Others for Animals with my black lab, Jack. It is a wonderful organization in helping all animals and their owners. Jack was trained at Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Raphael, California. He did not pass because they said he was timid in traffic. He is a perfect dog, very well trained and loves EVERYBODY! He was "interviewed" at Actors and Others by Stephanie Park, who is a wonderful volunteer and has been with the organization for years. He passed their test with no problems. We have been visiting convalescent hospitals and this has been very gratifying. The patients love Jack and yesterday when we visited, a woman told Jack that he made her day! He has his regular fan club and some patients want a picture of him. They may not know my name, but they all know Jack.
Actors and others makes all this possible and I really can't begin to say what a wonderful organization this is.
Carole Cohen and Jack
Stephanie Park from Actors & Others for Animals performed a Pet Safety puppet show for children at our branch library and it was an awesome success! Stephanie is an excellent presenter, very knowledgeable about pets (specifically dogs and cats), pet care, and particularly pet safety and pet owner safety. She interacts very well with children and uses humor very well in the presentation which is very useful in keeping the young audience engaged. Her information is excellent and the tips she gives about how to behave around pets is vital for children to know when they encounter dogs that they do not know. I recommend this group and Stephanie Park to any community library or center that wants to present a fun, informative and beneficial program to their community.
Recently, I lost my job and my health took a turn for the worse. My unemployment ran out and waiting for disability can take a long time. My food stamps only covers human food, and I have a dog and two cats. With no income, it was getting harder and harder for me to get by. I wasn't sure what I was going to do about affording food for my "babies". And then I heard about Actors and Others for Animals. I told them of my situation and they were only to happy to help me. The next thing I knew I was getting 40lbs of dog food, cat food and cat liter! It was a God send! I can never thank Actors and Others enough for what they did to help us. God Bless you all for the work you do!! Times are tough enough for us humans, without having to see our pets suffer too. It's nice to know they have someone on their side, looking out for their interest. On behalf of all us, thank you - Lisa, Playful, Willow and Angel.
I first connected with Actors and Animals when I picked up a pit bull running loose in the neighborhood. The group helped me get him neutered.
Through that process, I learned about the animal therapy program, and I've been volunteering ever since with my dog Melita at a convalescent home. We have wonderful relationships with many of the long-term residents there. Actors and Others has been hugely supportive finding the location, providing insurance, providing name badges and t-shirts, and periodically checking in to see how things are going.
I've been a volunteer for Actors and Others for about ten years, and have spent eight of those visiting patients at a senior care facility with my Aussie Shepherd mix, Benny. Many of the patients suffer from dementia, or live with the long term effects of diabetes, have had strokes, and are there for permanent care; most never return home. Over the years many of the friends we've made have passed away, and even Benny is my second pet therapy dog who has been trained for this work. But patients love to see us, and they especially love Benny, who is very gentle and affectionate, and often reminds them of their own dogs. Seeing him brings a spark to their eyes and warms their hearts. We would not have been able to do this without Actors and Others for Animals' support; they help coordinate my volunteer services and make sure all the paper work and insurance is in place. I couldn't have done this work for the last ten years without their support.
2 MONTHS AGO, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, A 9YR OLD MINIATURE PINSCHER NAMED PETRIE, WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES. THE TESTS AND VET VISITS LEADING UP TO HIS DIAGNOSIS HAD ALREADY EXHAUSTED MY FUNDS AND I WAS UNSURE OF HOW I WAS GOING TO PAY FOR THE INITIAL COSTS OF TREATMENT THAT WAS NECESSARY TO STABILIZE PETRIE'S CONDITION. I WAS COMPLETELY DISTRAUGHT, BEWILDERED, AND FEARFUL OF LOOSING MY BEST FRIEND. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE RELIEF THAT CAME, WHEN I RECEIVED A CALL FROM BEVERLY OF ACTORS AND OTHERS FOR ANIMALS, INFORMING ME OF THEIR PLEDGE TOWARDS PETRIE'S CARE. SHE ALSO GAVE ME A LIST OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO CALL, AND ALTHOUGH MOST OF THEM WERE UNABLE TO HELP OUT FINANCIALLY, I WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET A WHOLE NETWORK OF COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE, ALL OF WHICH OFFERED ME ADVICE AND PERSONAL INSIGHT FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES. SINCE THEN, PETRIE'S HEALTH HAS IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY, I HAVE LEARNED HOW TO MAKE HIS DOG FOOD, AS WELL AS LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT A DISEASE, THAT I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT! ALTHOUGH; HE IS INSULIN DEPENDENT, I CONSIDER MYSELF VERY FORTUNATE THAT IT'S A DISEASE THAT CAN BE MANAGED. I CANT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH THIS ORGANIZATION HAS GIVEN TO ME, AS YEARS ADDED TO YOUR "CHILD'S" LIFE, ARE IMMEASURABLE !!!! I WILL REMAIN FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THEIR KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY... THEY ARE SIMPLY WONDERFUL!
Actors and Others for Animals is an AMAZING organization that has been around since 1971. The list of celebrities alone that are attached to this phenomenal organization show how passionately the acting community has rallied to support the tremendous work that AOA does for animal welfare. But it isn't just an organization for actors--any one that cares about our sweet animals and their welfare--couldn't pick a better organization to donate to and be connected with. I was brought into the fundraising committee by a dear friend, Jackie, a couple of years ago. I couldn't be prouder to be a part of this wonderful group. If you are not familiar with them please check them out--our animals need your help!
I first became aware of Actors and Others for Animals in the 80's when I was asked to MC a fund raiser. Over the years I have continued to follow their services and the difference they make in the community. I am not honored to be a volunteer with them and have seen first had the good work they do. I couldn't recommend them if I didn't believe in the work they do...and I do.
The largesse recently shown to my service animal, a Siberian Husky named Handelman's Misty, by Actors and Others for Animals overwhelms me. It came at a time when I found myself coping with a temporary medical disability on top of my "regular" total and permanent
disability. Thus funds were beyond tight. And Misty's surgery could not
be delayed another month. From my first telephone contact through my
navigating their web site to the rather quick response with their decision
and pledge amount the entire process was not only professional but also very caring. These people exemplify the quote from Gandhi: "What use is it in having a very fine mind unless it is connected to an equally fine heart." Their history shows this and they should be very proud of their work that led to the elimination of decompression chambers in California. Always they will have my gratitude and my checks whenever I get this erstwhile "break" that has nearly killed me.
I agree to what every one had to say here before...Actors and Others for Animals has been a God sent help when we were in desperate need with getting finances together to take care of our sweet dog Luna. She got hit by a car and ended up with a fractured hip; They were there for us and most of all... for Luna and her need for surgery like nobody else. Especially Beverly, she was kind and friendly and understanding from our first phone conversation and with all the information she was able to give us. Most of all...she gave us "hope" and the feeling that all will be good. Once we were through with the bureaucracy ...it was all about getting the help fast to the hospital where Luna was taken care of. That made a big difference for all of us. Without their timely help, we would have not been able to take care of Luna's needs and the surgery that she needed and being able to get back to the life that she deserves. From the day we adopted Luna, almost 3 years ago, out lives changed completely; our lives are filled with joy and happiness on a daily base but she also helped us become much better human beings. And I strongly believe, that's what animals do to us - and that's why Actors and Others is such a wonderful organisation and has such great and compassionate people working there.
Luna is on her way of recovery now and doing great.
I would do all and everything possible for Actors & Others for Animals from voluntairing with time, help and hopefully soon also with money to make sure they can help a lot of other people and their pets as well. They understand how important these pets are for us people and the care we love to give them in return - for what they do to us that's the least we can give back in return.
Looking at our dog Luna I wonder..."who rescued whom"?
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts - please keep up the great and fantastic work. Because of people like you the world is a better place.

Our family dog "Burbujas" was in need of an emergency surgery in order to save her life. We were referred to Actors and Others for Animals by our veterinarian's office. Every one and Actors and Others for Animals were very helpful and kind to our family. They went above and beyond to help us in our time of need. Beverly, one of their staff members, took the time and dedication to call us to see how our doggy was doing. This gesture meant the world to me and my entire family. It is one of those gestures that it priceless.... It is hard now a days to find an organization such as Actors and Other for Animals that is as dedicated and devoted to the cause they stand for. I can honestly say that they have touched the lives of every single member of our family. Like I mentioned to Beverly, in one of our phone conversations.... if I ever was to win the Lottery, and obtain any monetary riches I would not hesitate in donating as much as I could to this wonderful organization so that they can continue helping other families like mine.
I can personally say that I feel for ever grateful to this organization and like I mentioned to Beverly... if they ever need help with anything from volunteering to even possibly making small monetary donations.. they can count me in. THANK YOU Actors and Others for Animals for all that you have done for me and my family.!!!!!
Eternally Grateful,
"Burbujas" and the Chavez family :)
