Review for K9's For Freedom & Independence, Collinsville, TX, USA
The Prinical Officer is very knowledge about dog training and maintance. Unfortunately uncompassionate.
Former participant here. Avoid this organization and trainer at all costs. The use of intimidation is common practice. The focus is not on the well being/health of the particpant OR particpant/dog team. Uneducated about the diagnosis's of the poplutation meant to be served. You will have to sign a contract. The dog is NEVER yours.
After 9 months of workting with this organization, training, bonding, living with my savior, the Principal Officer YANKED the dog and gear right out of my hands. This was in front of a public business doorway creating a high stress and aggresive eniviroment. The dog in perfect medical health. This organization set this Veteran back about a year in positive growth and forced me to return to medication. Please stay away.
Swift is not a Service Dog. Only after training with us for at least a year and going through our rigid certification process and passing, would any of our dogs be considered a Service Dog. Christa was supposed to go through a training and rehabilitation program with us and our dog. She disappeared with our dog for over 2.5 months and moved from Texas to Utah during that time. She only made maybe 9 trainings appointments out of approximately 50 she was supposed to go to in the 9 months she had Swift. She did not follow the instructions and guidance of our trainers and constantly argued about our training process. The hard descision was made to reclaim our dog. The contract is clear and was signed by Christa and the Organization. Rules are for everyone and everyone else follows them, so should Christa.
