Review for Knots of Love, Ashland, WI, USA
I first started knitting for Knots of Love about 6 years ago. When I retired, I was able to help out on "shipping" Fridays. What an incredible experience! First, there are caps, blankets, stump covers, NICU blankets pouring in from all over the country. Each donation comes from someone who has taken their time and talent to knit something for a total stranger. Next, the caps are sent to people who have lost their hair and are going through something no one wants to experience. And through it all come the letters......heart warming notes of thanks and gratitude from people who have received a cap. Stories of hope, stories of loss, stories of appreciation that someone cared enough and took the time to use their talents to help a stranger in need.
What makes Knots of Love unique is the continuous circle of love and kindness. Love from others being passed on to those in need. Strangers helping strangers. People actually spending time to help someone else. In todays unrest it is uplifting to know that deep down people still care. As our founder always says, "People are s-o-o-o nice." But to me, each week Knots of Love proves that we are a society that truly cares for others.
