PHLBI has a proven track record of excellence in: 1) conducting much-needed research into lung-sparing treatments, and someday a cure, for mesothelioma at its own laboratories under the direction of one of the nation's top mesothelioma specialists, 2) educating doctors about best practices and latest innovations for treating mesothelioma through its annual symposium, 3) providing patient and caregiver support and resources through its nurse practitioner who is available one on one and via web support group meetings, and 4) raising public awareness about mesothelioma and the need for research through its website, social media, and fundraising events including the annual walk, motorcycle rally, casino night, art auctions, etc. which bring affected families and friends together with others to build enthusiasm and dedication to the cause. PHLBI has made a meaningful impact on the lives of many families who turn out to support the institute year after year. It is a truly unique non-profit whose work to benefit mesothelioma sufferers and the public at large has only started to hit its stride!!
