Review for Knots of Love, Ashland, WI, USA
I wanted to find a charity to donate knit hats to and once I found Knots of Love I knew that they were the right place to send my creations to so they could be sent on to patients all over the country. As I found out more about them I answered a message asking for volunteers to sort and process hats at the founder's home on Friday mornings and since I was in their area I signed up to help out which has become a very rewarding and inspiring experience for the past year. I am amazed by how many different places from across the country people are making and sending in their hats, NICU blankets, picc line covers and stump covers so that we can then tag, sort and repackage them to go out every week to hospitals and a variety of cancer care centers throughout the country. The founder, Christine Fabiani personally calls everyone each week to thank them for their donations and I can tell that people are so shocked that she would take the time to call and thank them. Everything is done by volunteers so that there isn't any overhead costs that take away from the cost of shipping to get the hats where they are needed. I can't say enough good things about how wonderful Knots of Love is and how meaningful their mission is and they're continued focus on helping others.
