My husband had a stroke at the age of 53 that left him unable to continue his career as a commercial pilot. We got involved with the KY and SI Stroke Association and have attended some of their events. This organization provides education and support for stroke survivors and caregivers as well as raising awareness about preventing and identifying stroke.

There is even a special group for younger stroke survivors.
