Sound Community is an organization that provides people with hope. Anybody who has or has been impacted by mental health challenges and/or substance abuse recovery can join the Sound community and be met where they are at and accepted for who they are. The entire team at Sound is truly dedicated to making sure all clients have the best resources available to them. This is done by creating a truly integrated service model through which everybody who walks through the doors is evaluated and offered the opportunity to participate in a full range of support services. Whether people want to engage in case management, medication management, individual or group therapy, intensive outpatient work, employment support, residential programs, young adult programming or social/community activities, Sound's staff will make those in-house connections and create a customized care plan to meet those needs.
Sound has gone through many challenges and changes over its lifetime and has now hit a new level of integration, community engagement and colleague support that directly correlates to powerful, long-lasting community health and wellness. Whether it is partnering with Mitchell College, working along side other service agencies or advocating at the state Capital, Sound is leading the way in raising up those on the margins and bringing them into the center of society. It's amazing to be a part of such a powerful transformation!
Sound is what it is today because of the staff. Full of energy, passion and a deep commitment to social change, their work transcends day-to-day activities and is truly in their blood. The people who work at Sound do so because they want to be a part of changing perceptions around those with behavioral health and substance abuse recovery challenges. This is done through clinical, medical, residential and community work as well as education, advocacy and engagement across New London County.
