Review for Ranch Hands Rescue, Argyle, TX, USA
I find myself near paralyzed by a swelling of tears as I try to decide how best to "review" this nonprofit called Ranch Hands Rescue. To say that what has been created here far exceeds expectations does not quite capture the magnitude of what I have discovered in this place, in these people, in these animals, and through them, in myself.
Ranch Hands Rescue is founded on the principle that every life has inherent worth and dignity, no matter the loss, no matter the trauma, no matter the fear. Through working with animals rescued from abuse and neglect in an environment that puts felt safety at the forefront of all interactions, I have learned that I am worth being seen.
As a trauma therapist working with individuals who have experienced the worst of what this life can inflict, I have had the great honor of witnessing the healing capacity of those considered "broken" to heal one another. Ranch Hands Rescue is truly a place of animals helping people and people helping animals.
Through my experiences at this sanctuary for the wounded and discarded, I have found hope despite suffering, comfort amidst pain, and joy that I had thought could not be reclaimed. I can think of no greater calling for my life than the rescue and recovery of the vulnerable. Ranch Hands Rescue is where I found meaning, purpose, and self-worth.

Joining the team at Ranch Hands Rescue is a blessing I did not expect!! The people, the animals, and even the environment are such a pleasure to be around. I am so very honored to be practicing trauma-focused Equine and Animal Assisted Therapy at a location that values all life highly. I mean, what a concept! Rescuing abused and neglected animals and helping them become therapy partners for abused and neglected people. What higher purpose could one ask to be a part of :-)
