Review for Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation, Los Angeles, CA, USA
In the year of 2016, I decided to join the LAPD RESERVE Unit. I had just completed my A.A degree and by being only 19 years old, I was not able to apply as a full time officer. In the meantime, I still was motivated to be involved with LAPD, but also contribute towards my community. Luckily, I was informed about LAPD Reserves. I must say this is one of my proudest moments. Graduating the Reserve academy and being able to volunteer within my community is inspiring. I am able to volunteer in multiple ways and meet many amazing people who share the passion on being twice a citizen in their communities. As a full-time college student and worker, I tend to be busy, but I promised myself to always give back time in the Reserve unit. As a level three reserve, I have been able to receive many support from other Reserve officers and the foundation's representatives. I was honored this year to receive a scholarship through the LAPD Reserve Foundation. I attended the Reserve Gala and was granted such award. I will forever be grateful. This foundation always recognizes all of their volunteers hard work and truly values everyone involved. They truly are welcoming and will always find ways to come together on developing ideas that benefit the community. They are very supportive, which is what I value the most.
