Review for OSEI-KUSI FOUNDATION (OKF) , MANASSAS, , USA
"It is better to light one candle than curse the darkness." - Confucius.
About six (6) years ago, a special candle was lit and the Osei-Kusi Foundation happened to be it's flame. I'm Felix Brenya-Korankye, a Volunteer who works proudly with this humble but promising Foundation as a temporal Accounts Officer. Mere words are not enough for me to describe this imposing vision of this passion for the youth-filled man. I met him at church (Trinity Baptist, East Legon)through my brother in-law and I would describe it as one of the best experiences ever since. He mentored me through the realization of self worth and volunteerism and it's benefits through a couple of his many authored books, '' You are too much and Beauty in Volunteerism and Patriotism."
Many lives have been and are still being transformed through OKF. A living example is Miss Mavis Hanu, an OKF scholarship beneficiary from the Akropong School for the Blind who won this year's regional spelling bee competition in the Eastern region. Mavis represented her school as a proud beacon of hope for many children who are visually-impaired (blind) nationwide by competing against various schools in the region including Akosombo International School. A visually-impaired child beating sighted children and this is all thanks to OKF's support (affording her tuition fees, upkeep money and learning tools) and believing in her.
There are numerous testimonies to be told. Community Service Awards (CSA), Prisons Support etc and this is all thanks to the OKF Club Card members, we are able to make such impacts in the lives of the blind and the deaf.
I can boldly entreat each of us all to register as a Club Card member today to make a difference in the lives of others. As the Scriptures rightly put it, " In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ " Acts 20:35.
God bless us all.
