Review for COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP OF SONOMA COUNTY, Santa Rosa, CA, USA
I have volunteered with CAPSonoma for 6 years. The staff are dedicated; the management is committed to excellence and the impact addressing the root causes of poverty in our community is significant. CAP looks to change the lives of the poor beyond crisis services. While giving emergency shelter and food addresses immediate needs, CAP focuses on lifting people out of poverty. They combine direct services, advocacy on public policy, and partnership with community-wide efforts to effect change.
I thoroughly endorse this agency's mission and invite anyone to support it with their time and contributions.

Review for Food For Thought, Forestville, CA, USA
This is the original "warm-fuzzy" agency. Clients, volunteers, and staff are all one friendly family. And there's food! What's not to like.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
transforming the lives of clients with HIV who were hopeless, friendless, depressed. They are taken in to the family, given responsibilities, asked for their input, and shown they counted.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The great ambiance when you walk on site.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Really a family
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Two big things: 1)Support more HIV Food Banks in Africa, like the one they help in Namibia. 2) Make sure everyone in our community affected by HIV/AIDS is served.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every six months
