My first contact with Curamericas was through an interview I had with Andrew, The Executive Director. I needed some information for a project I was working on and he was extremely helpful. I did a great deal of research about the organization and concluded that it was the right place to work if one had a passion for international development, so I decided to intern with the organization. There is a long list of reasons why Curamericas is a unique nonprofit. The first is that, their projects and programs have a strong impact which is supported by rigorous research and evidence. Additionally, the projects are designed with an emphasis on sustainability, ensuring that even after the organization is no longer working directly with the communities they serve, the good work still goes on. Overall, it is a one of a kind nonprofit that is truly making a difference, one individual at a time.
