Review for Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue, Inc., Grand Haven, MI, USA
We've adopted two Weims from the GLWR and had a great experience both times. Our first dog (Chief), we applied, were vetted for ownership (compared to go to a general humane society = take a dog home), and asked what we were looking for (gender, age, size, good with kids, etc). When a dog came along meeting those requirements, we got a call and couldn't be happier! Adopting our second dog was as easy as calling and bring Chief out for a visit to meet Hue, who is a senior dog they had taken in from a family no longer able to take care of him. Before we could take him home, they got him up to date with the vet and had him neutered. With both dogs we were sent home with a HUGE bag full of toys, wet dog food, paperwork, blankets, collars, etc. The support of GLWR itself, and those who've adopted dogs, is just amazing. GLWR does a great job of finding Weims that are in need of love, and finding people who want to love them
