Last September a white pigeon landed in our yard in the CA mountains, where we feed all the local birds. We knew it wasn’t native; nope not a band tail pigeon. Thought it would fly home. Five days later we decided it might want to live with us and brought Pidgie inside. Reading the band on her leg, we discovered she was a 2 yr old racing pigeon from Oklahoma City. Also, we knew she was smart cuz she decided to stay with bird loving people rather than fly back to Oklahoma.
Being pigiots (pigeon idiots), we needed help fast! A course in Pigeon Ed 101! Searching the Internet, we discovered Palomacy, the answer to our prayers... or rather Pidgie’s prayers for pidge educated human parents who could give her the healthy, happy home she deserves. We surely couldn’t have successfully saved this bird without help from the Palomacy family of bird lovers. Now it’s time to give back . Two days ago, through the Palomacy FB site, we became part of a tag team effort to save a racer stranded in 109 temps in the desert. Today this lost racer is safe with us. “Coo” will join Pidgie, increasing our family by one more sweet pidge. Bird life is good! Thank you Palomacy!
