I have volunteered at Southeastern Guide Dogs for over 5 years, and helped with Walk-A-Thons and other activities. This is without doubt the most enjoyable volunteer experience of my life. The staff are always appreciative, the volunteers cheerful, and the dogs wonderful. The chance to see graduations when the client is about to leave with their guide is one of the most heartwarming and emotional experiences one can imagine. Additionally, they work hard to ensure the volunteers are well trained and events are organized.
The organization is fully dedicated to providing the best experience for their clients, both the visually impaired or the recipient of a service dog with excellent training, compassion, and high quality housing and meals during the training period. The new facilities for the puppies and dogs in training are of the highest quality and every effort is made to ensure the dogs have the best care and plenty of attention. This is a truly great organization.
