I first met the wonderful folks who run White Bird Appaloosa Horse Rescue, Tom & Jorg, many years ago. I was looking for a home for a sweet ex-camp horse who had gone through a local low-end auction & was in need of special care. They kindly took in Lily & gave her the love & care she so very much deserved as learned to navigate her world as she gradually lost her sight. They manage the rescue responsibly, assuring every precious soul who comes to them receives whatever they may need.
These folks do rescue the right way, making the best use of the support & donations they receive.

As a foster home for one of the horses who was lucky enough to find her way to Mylestone I have experienced firsthand the wonderful work they do.
Each & every animal receives the love & care they need & deserve.
Finances are handled responsibly to insure that the donations & support they receive are used for that which they were intended....the welfare of the horses. They are there 24/7, 365 days a year, doing whatever is needed. But they can't do it alone....the donations & support they receive will allow them to continue to be there for the horses most in need of help, & is truly appreciated.

I have known the good folks at White Bird Appaloosa Horse Rescue for many years. I've worked with several horse rescues over the past 20 years & I have found them to be among the very best at providing for the horses lucky enough to find their way to them!
Many of the horses taken in are afflicted with various levels of vision loss, who require a special environment & handling to keep them safe...which is provided to each & every one of them, along with much love!!
They are definitely deserving of a Gold Star rating!

I have worked with the folks at Mylestone Equine Rescue for over 10 years now.
Their compassion & love for each & every horse finding his or her way to them is heartwarming.
Running a horse rescue is challenging under normal circumstances, & especially so over the past year with all of the pandemic issues, however these good folks continued to do what they do best...providing the very best care of the horses entrusted to them. Many of the horses who come to them have special needs & they do everything possible to insure those needs are met.
They also often offer a helping hand to other rescues, as well as owners, who may have fallen on hard times, whether it be financial assistance for a vet bill or help when euthanasia is the only option, or advice & guidance to a newly formed rescue.
I have worked with several rescues over the past 20 years & Mylestone is without a doubt one of the best!!

I have dealt with many non-profit & for profit equine rescues over the past 20 years, & Mylestone Equine Rescue is one of the very best! The dedicated folks there take in some of the most needy animals & see to it that each & every one receives the best care possible, as well as much love, to heal both physical & mental injuries. I only wish there were more rescues & sanctuaries of this quality, for the horses & other equines, in need.
