Review for Go4thegoal Foundation, Cherry Hill, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This foundation is amazing. They were never pushy to get started but whenever i had a question they were there to help me out. We held their Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer event, and chose to sell their wrist bands and shoelaces, as well as held a raffle to raise extra money for the cause. 100% of our donations stayed in the state to help out kids, and 80% of the laces/bands sales did the same. Here is a synapses of our day:

DJ, a student battling cancer from a local elementary school, was able to come out and be a part of the day. He was our honorary captain and threw out the first pitch of the game. It was a really cool moment for me as a coach to see all of my boys out there making this tremendous kid feel like part of the team. Even the other team came out of the dugout and cheered him on as he warmed up for his first pitch. When we walked out to the field to throw for real, I asked him how far he wanted to through from (being a 4th grader I was expecting maybe 20 or 30 feet) but to my surprise DJ wanted to throw it from the actual pitcher's mound 60 feet away! And he did a great job! If that was the end of the story I would have been a happy camper that day, but it just kept getting better.

One of the ways that we raised money for the game was through a raffle, all of the prizes were donated by local groups and companies. One of the Prizes was a PlayStation 4 and two games to go with it, donated by Van Buren Area Little League. The person who won the raffle, and chose that prize, was one of my players (junior) Jayden. Right after he picked out the prize he asked DJ to come over and talk for a second. Jayden asked him if he had one of those at home, and DJ said no. Then without hesitation Jayden gave his prize away to a very excited and deserving DJ Turner.

Those are the moments that I will never forget as long as I coach. I explained to my players that this is what we want to be known for. Good, hard working, respectful gentlemen that make a difference in their community; and who just so happen to be good baseball players.

We raised around $850 and while that is amazing, it was more about the community out reach and the feeling my players were able to get for helping out such a great cause through a great foundation!
