Review for Michigan Anti Cruelty Society, Detroit, MI, USA
Over the years my family has adopted from Michigan Anti Cruelty Society. Almost everyone in my family has, at one point, adopted from them. MACS is one of the first places my grandmother would check when it was time for her to adopt a new friend. I will never forget the day I adopted my cat (C.C., previously Voodoo via her foster family) from an MACS event. I had been wanting a cat for quite awhile and begged my parents to let me adopt one. When I saw the "adopt here" and they saw that it was them doing adoptions, I KNEW I would get a cat because my parents were familiar with who they were, we knew the good they did. I had that cat from the time I was almost 15 till I was 31. Our first dog Tiffany came from a foster family that worked with Michigan Anti Cruelty Society. Tiffany was found wandering I-96 until some kind person took her into MACS. They found her a foster home to stay in while she waited for her forever home. We were that forever home. She went from a dirty skinny stray to a beautiful, healthy and very much loved (especially by the neighborhood children) family member. MACS does good things, they have AMAZING foster families who take in cats, kittens and dogs. These people give of their time, part of their lives and so much of their hearts to do this job. They don't do it for the praise, they do it to find homes for these animals who have none.
