We adopted our Shihpoo, Duncan, from Karen and our experience couldn’t have been better! We found him on Petfinder and I emailed her right away for an application. I received a very prompt response and was thrilled when we were approved! Conducting an adoption long distance (we are in Tennessee) may have its challenges, but not when working with Karen. She let me know that he had been neutered and groomed, but that she really wanted to spend some time with him to make sure he would be a good fit for children (we have 4!). I received pictures and information the following day letting me know that he was a gentle, playful pup who would be a great addition to a family with kids. Karen answered all of my questions, responded to emails quickly and I felt confident that this was our dog! We made arrangements to meet at a Petsmart in Terre Haute and surprised our kids with a trip there a few days later to meet, and hopefully adopt, Duncan. Karen’s knowledge, honesty, and candor was refreshing and made us completely comfortable taking him home with us after a short meeting. We are so thrilled with our newest family member- he is everything that Karen said he was, and more. In fact, our local vet commented that she couldn’t believe we had been lucky enough to find such a remarkable pup! Karen’s experience both with dogs and in rescue makes her an ideal person to adopt from. It is clear that she is looking to make the best match for both the dog and the family. We are so grateful that our paths crossed and recommend her and her rescue completely!
