Review for Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue, Renton, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I adopted my second Scottie from ASTR and she has been a joy and a treasure to our family over the past 8 years. On my recommendation, my sister has adopted two wonderful dogs (one from southern California and one from China) and my best friend's step-mom has adopted from ASTR, as well. I cannot say enough good things about this rescue and what they have added to our family and to other families who we love. I will be forever grateful to the volunteers who run this rescue and work tirelessly to save dogs from all over the world. I don't think many people understand what incredibly hard work (emotionally, physically, monetarily, logistically, etc.) it is to run an animal rescue. I am grateful that there are people who take on this difficult work.

I adopted my scottie, my sister adopted her dog and my best friend's dad adopted his dog, all through Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue. They are a wonderful team of hardworking volunteers. I am so, so grateful for the love they have given our family and for all the love they give so many dogs. The other review stated that they felt weird about meeting in a parking lot and honestly there is nothing weird about it. They rescue dogs across OR, WA, CA and ID. They try to pick up all the new dogs coming into the rescue and also hand off all the dogs going to their forever home all on one day, in one location. Their transporter is almost always coming up from Southern California with many dogs saved from the high-kill shelters down there. Then all the fosters meet in the parking lot to accept their new foster dogs and all the people adopting that day also meet there so the fosters can bring the dogs they have been looking after. It's simply logistics for a small rescue trying to do the most good.
