Whether this is a legit charity or not, I have no idea, but their collection methods are completely unprofessional. I was accosted, not on the street, but at a private industry party after hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom. WDW hosted the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) during the association's annual expo in Orlando. It was an expensive ticket, far greater than a regular admission ticket for only a few hours in the park (with food and drink included, of course). My associates and I were enjoying the party, moving from one area of the park to another, when a young woman confronted me with her hand out, asking me to give her money "for the children" in an oddly whiny childish voice. I said if she gave me her card or some credentials, I might consider a donation, so she did give me a business card, but she was pouting like a child because I wasn't giving her any money! I've been to the Philippines and I've seen shoeless children living in the street, so I understand the need, but I'm not donating to an organization that sends an immature gate crasher to a private party to hold out a collection cup. There are legitimate ways of collecting charity.
