Wow lovely voices from this group who just serenaded me just now. Big thumbs up! Definitely not a scam, the volunteers showed me pictures of their outstanding help to the children. Don’t listen to the negative reviews. Trust it from me! Will be donating again in the future!
Unfortunately, this seems to not be a legitimate charity (or at least the "volunteer" I ran into wasn't), and I have a pretty similar story to these other reviews: I was studying at the undergrad commons at my college (Georgia Tech) and was approached by a young woman while I was on my laptop. She asked me if I "could give to the children" and handed a pamphlet to me, but didn't explain anything else about the organization or what their mission was, and only told me the organization name after I asked her several times. I found a website for them online, and she was giving food in exchange for donations, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt despite the sketchiness (I didn't have time to do more thorough research). When I told her I didn't have any cash on me (I had to tell her several times before she seemed to hear me), she told me they took Square and I donated $10 through my credit card. She gave me a bag of several Rice Krispy treats in return and told me multiple times I was a "good-hearted person" while I was getting out my card, but the way she said it simply didn't feel genuine; it felt like I was being buttered up. I later saw her approach at least one other person and do the same thing.
The email receipt I got for my donation listed the item as "!!!!!!!!!gian", which is obviously a tad sketchy. While I did get some (very overpriced) snacks from this, and I'd personally prefer to be scammed a small amount than not help people, I'd generally encourage people to not donate to strangers without time to actually vet them, especially ones who aggressively come up to you. There are plenty of legitimate charities out there instead.
The guy i met working hand in hand with this foundation was extremely nice. I was kinda sketchy at fist but i fel the sincerity and humility in his heart raising funds for this. He even showed me some of his pictures when he went to the Philippines with kids they helped out. I hope i can do the same in the future.
These guys came my store 3 times for donation, ask my client and employee. i told them, u came 3 times already. and she said, u better donate more , otherwise, u will lost a lot customers.

THE FILIPINOS THAT GIVE THIS SO CALLED 5 STARS ARR RELATED TO THE IDIOT MALE FILIPINO THAT OPERATES THIS SO CALLED SCAM CHARITY IN GLENDALE, CA.
THIS GUY SPITS ON PEOPLE IF U UPSET HIM. HE IS A SISSY FLIP. THIS CHARITY GETS NUMEROUS BAD BAD REVIEWS.
Was practically held captive in my college campus's cafeteria. A volunteer sat down next to me while I was obviously focused on studying, shoved a pamplet in my hand, and told me any money I could give would be appreciated. Told. When I told her that I didn't have cash, she insisted that I donate with my card instead. Wouldn't leave me be until I did. The card reader didn't work so she made me type in my card information. Called our campus police after and cancelled the transaction and card because its a complete scam. Don't donate to this. There are much better, vetted charities to donate to.

This is a scam. I was approached at my university by two young people asking if I could donate money to help children in Burma. I told them I had no cash, and asked if they had a phone number so I could contact them when I had cash. The young man said he has no phone number. He said they could take credit card because they had the swipe thing on the phone, but it wasn't working so they would have to type in the numbers on my debit card. It is a scam, do not trust these people.
They have just conducted a gift giving and feeding program in Connecticut and Houston Texas. (At the children of Diversity)
am so proud and happy to see there are still people who are willing to do such noble cause, selfless and does belived in helping.
Whether this is a legit charity or not, I have no idea, but their collection methods are completely unprofessional. I was accosted, not on the street, but at a private industry party after hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom. WDW hosted the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) during the association's annual expo in Orlando. It was an expensive ticket, far greater than a regular admission ticket for only a few hours in the park (with food and drink included, of course). My associates and I were enjoying the party, moving from one area of the park to another, when a young woman confronted me with her hand out, asking me to give her money "for the children" in an oddly whiny childish voice. I said if she gave me her card or some credentials, I might consider a donation, so she did give me a business card, but she was pouting like a child because I wasn't giving her any money! I've been to the Philippines and I've seen shoeless children living in the street, so I understand the need, but I'm not donating to an organization that sends an immature gate crasher to a private party to hold out a collection cup. There are legitimate ways of collecting charity.
This charity do exist and legit. Do not worry to give your donation.

I gathered photos taken during their mission in different time and places.
I was in a barbershop when there's a group of people who came in and asked the owner if they could sing and that they are singing for a cause and the owner refused and said i wont let you coz i know its a scam, and the volunteer said did you reseach and went to our website?and the guy said no, but i searched it on google and it says scam. I felt bad for the volunteers who are very faithful and willing to support the cause of helping the children so I made a research myself to make things clear and I found out that this is a legitimate non-profit organization with charity trust # CT0145049, someone branded this charity as scam and even published it on the internet, but this charity is real. some volunteer maybe pushy and with attitude but the charity is real.
I wish to share info about CJF, being branded by some people as a scam. Though we know that there are rampant scammers in this world.... but Children's Joy Foundation (CJF) is not, because it is a legitimate charity organization with an advocacy of helping poor children in third world countries in Asia, by feeding, clothing, giving them shelter and sending them to school. This is a gigantic task that should be given support by all individuals who are blessed financially to sustain the aforesaid activities. When we help these abandoned and poor children, who are in need of care and support, we are just doing God's words: "What you have done to the least of your brethren, you've done it unto me". I can attest with all honesty, that those who have been continually helping through their donation either in kind or in cash, are blessed more, per the testimonies narrated. I have a well off friend who supports CJF monthly with her donation in kind, whose business within the place has expanded in USA, Canada and Australia and I see personally the growth of her business. God sees the heart of the people who shares their blessings and gives it back to them so many folds.. All of these, I say from the heart. Ching Y.
Approached at Wal-Mart at 10:00 at night. The girl couldn't answer any questions about the "programs" this organization is trying to fund. The website is one of the fakest I've seen out of a charity and almost all search results are noting it's a scam.
When a group of people came up to me and asked to sing for me I was very surprised. When this young lady told me that they were singing for a cause I thought that it was a scam. I didn't want to give them anything unless I checked to see if they were legit and went to search them up. I checked out that they are for sure legit/real and even visited the foundation's office! Don't be afraid to donate to them, I felt bad at first for not trusting them. They also give out receipts since they are non profit. Hopefully anyone won't be like me and not trust them right away
I'm a Filipino who lives from Delano, I don't trust rightaway to charity organization very much because I think maybe this just another fraud however when I researched about their website, they truly are helping our poor Filipino children.
In my real experience when I went back their in the Philippines, I see that they have created a disney-like place for the children every April 25, you know what, maybe the cost of that event for the children range from $300,000-$500,000 because of its magnificence.
I saw their shelter as well in Manila and Indangan as well that made me cry how poor the children are and were blessed because of this organization. Because of this, I helped them because I witnessed it myself.
More power to this organization!
I do my research and I think it is someone impersonating this organization. I am at Durham and I was approached by a person likely from south Asia who ask for a donation of 10. I replied I will check the website on the information sheet, appeared as cjfusa.org, which has only one button on this whole website that is "DONATE". I began to be suspicious when I saw the crap information sheet and record sheet, and this website showed a clear fraud.
The real charity under the name children's joy foundation may be trustable, but I do not have evidence to be 100 % sure. This article may help though http://www.theborneopost.com/2012/12/06/no-authorisation-to-solicit-donations-given/
I am a fool I just gave so much money on the belief that this was a legitimate organization. I was helped out and now I felt I should help out others. only to find out that I may have been duped.
My family and I have now been set back so far ... I am not sure if we can ever recover from ... well the dishonest, despicable and deceitful way in which this large sum of money was taken ... I am reeling from the loss as is my family...
I was approached last night by a young lady around 10:00 PM, while I was shopping at a Wal-Mart store. I did feel like it was a scam. 1 it seemed pretty late at night to be asking for money. 2 I was in a Wal-Mart store. I was issued a receipt and I did Google the CJF but I just can't say one way or the other. Maybe they should do a commercial.
Truly a great organization! It's amazing how they offered to sing to me and I was very stunned by their amazing voices. They are a legit group, I called their numbers and checked all of their reviews. Next time, be sure to make a donation to them!

You people are obviously not doing your research! Call our numbers and check all the charity trust websites! Stop assuming that this is a scam, you people are just being so vague and don't even understand that they help people all over the world 24/7. Why don't you contact them and visit their addresses? Stop being so lazy and do more research. I am glad to have found a wonderful organization and had even help volunteer with them. I even still continue to donate to them. Just because they are Filipino does not mean anything. Stop racism and help others in need
This is a SCAM.
We were having a late dinner in a Chinese restaurant around 10pm. In the middle of the restaurants, about three or four Filipinos started singing Stands by Me with one of them playing the guitar. We had a couple of empty wine bottles on our table among our 11-person party. We instantly clapped after they finished their 45 second rendition of Stand by Me. Out of the 11 of us, only 3 were not drunk (designated drivers), including myself.
There were maybe 6 or 7 other tables, but we were the only ones clapping. Then, they made a B-line straight to our table. Their pitch was literally 10 seconds, which was something along the lines of "our chair team supports abandoned children," or some other BS.
That was the first red flag.
The second red flag was their direct question to my mother, "so, how much would you like to donate to the abandoned children?" Totally guilt tripping my tipsy/drunk mother, and when my mom pulled out her purse, the girl's eyes widened up. Before my mom started to pull out cash, I asked if we could provide a website so that we could research and if they took PayPal so that we could donate later if we found it to be a legitimate foundation. She told us not to worry, and I guess that was enough for my mom to burn $10 on them. These were all 2nd and 3rd red flags.
The last red flag was when they pretty much ran out when I pulled out my phone, presumably because they knew that if I googled their foundation, it would return results that they are a scammers. If they are truly invested in a real foundation, wouldn't they stay around to talk about it? Wouldn't they be more passionate about it? By the time I found out, I went out to the parking lot to chase them down, And I waved at them and they just kept driving. These were the final red flags.
DO NOT DONATE TO THEM. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Recurring scam practice for over a year. A person walks up to you with a vaguly written document and asks for money or credit card info. They will act aggresivly if you decline. They will make you feel guilty. They will not stop if uninhibited, roaming and preying on the public for hours.
I'm Merian Vallestern, nearly 17 and a volunteer for 4 years of CJF USA and PH.
As a volunteer for the CJF USA, this charity does it's best in truly fulfilling the needs of its beneficiaries. My parents have been volunteering for quite some years now, but for me, I've only started to help in 2009. I can say that from offering a hand in their wide variety in programs for the Filipino children, they do put their hearts into making them smile. As an example: they have an annual program every April 25th called National Children's Day (NCD) where in all of their locations, they hold feeding programs and fun festivities for children and their families. Best thing: it's 100% free. (I helped in the celebration in Davao City, PH in 2012 and this year in Van Nuys, CA.) Both the full-time and part-time volunteers fundraise continuously in preparation for this giant project.
In response to the CJF USA being named as a 'scam,' in the 4 years of partnering up with them, they've done nothing bad. I mean, if you think about it, they are located globally. Most likely they are to make mistakes because of miscommunication, but maybe some abuse their roles because of corruption. In the end, the things they offer (not to mention the several orphanages with free schooling programs they run) require an extensive and handsome sum of money to keep running properly. But volunteering requires much stamina, and exercise. Not everyone can volunteer.
My 3 younger cousins who were left parentless because of a tragic accident last year are recipients of the CJF PH's care. I and my parents have visited them twice and they've even said the housing complex they stay at is comforting with all the children and nice [brothers and sisters] (kuyas and ates, as they put it) have helped them stand from the loss of their parents and have helped them gain talents. (All three of the brothers gave my family a little performance when we visited. TOO ADORABLE~)
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! I have researched and looked at a plethora of information gathered regarding them, and NOTHING is legit. Of the "volunteers" who collect money, THEY get to KEEP 71%, and must "return" to the "ministry" the other 29%.
Of that 29%, how much ACTUALLY reaches the impoverished and needy children they are supposedly helping?!?!
REALLY? Of the $20.00 USD I gave, I suspect that MAYBE $2.00 USD reached the people I INTENDED to help and show love to.
THIS IS A SICK AND PERVERTED COMPANY...NOT A MINISTRY!
