Review for Well Aware, Austin, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Mine is from a bystander point of view. My wife taught 2nd grade for many years. When she learned of Well Aware’s Shower Strike, she had her whole class participate. That first year, they raised around $1500 for clean water in Africa. The 2nd graders in he community just finished their 8th year of Shower Strike. Last year, with donor matches, they raised $15000. This year, more than $23000!
Sarah Evans and her team came to visit our school earlier this spring to congratulate them on their hard work, but more importantly, learning to help others and knowing they can make a difference. That was so important to those kids. They didn’t know that a high percentage of the funds raised go right into building wells in Africa. They didn’t know that every year, every well that Well Aware has built gets checked and maintained. The current data shows that only 4 /10 wells built on the African continent are still worked no. All 51 of Well Aware’s are still in operation. That is dedication to a cause. Sarah Evans has put together the best team of geologists, engineers, technicians, media and more.
This non-profit is of the highest caliber! They are extremely caring, conscientious, meticulous, and have the biggest hearts for what they do.
I cannot say enough good things about these people. My wife would say that I rarely gush, so for me to write this says a lot about the quality of Well Aware!

Review for Thrasher Opera House Corporation, Green Lake, WI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My wife and I recently moved to Green Lake after living in a different state our entire lives. For a small community, there is an amazing amount to do and see. Other things not withstanding, the Thrasher is one of the more influential reasons we chose the community. They consistently bring in top quality and unique artists/groups. This includes former recording stars (Rikki Lee Jones, Kenny Loggins), to well known comedy groups (Second City), to artists unknown to us. The genres are as varied as they are unique and interesting. Blues, country, folk, world music, ethnic, rock, pop, jazz, and more blends than you can shake a stick at. Quite often a lesson or pre-concert session is included.
The Thrasher is a shining, small-town gem with a world view that offers surprises for everyone, all in a place no one would expect, but everyone loves.
